Very solid local donut place. Standard donut fare but what they do they do well. Solid mix of filling to cake in their Boston Crème donut.

I had donuts from here about 5 years ago and they were so good they left a lasting positive impression. We always had them at my old job and again they were fresh and good. Fast forward to yesterday we drove from Randallstown area to severna park last night to get these delicious donuts well.....we were sadly mistaken and disappointed. They were stale and tough. Donut shack is open 24 hours so I thought the donuts would be fresh throughout the day. Um...they were not. I am really turned off and I'm not sure if I will ever go back! read more

I went to donut shack this evening for the first time since they changed ownership. We got there just before they closed, I was hoping the donuts were fresh but they weren't. They were stale and not very good at all. I'm sure the staff knew they were selling me old stale donuts, someone could have at least said something or at the very least offered a 50% discount. I Paid $17 for 12 donuts and 1 brownie. I Won't be a repeat customer there again. Sorry, not sorry. read more

Yassssss!!!! 24 hour donuts!!! Every flavor is a home run! Parking is right in front of the place and pretty ample. There is seating inside as well. Mmmm...donuts! Ironically my workout group and I took a trip to Donut Shack yesterday after our workout. Most of us had never been there before our visit yesterday. Fortunately we knew ahead of time that it was cash-only. I personally got a dozen assorted (for under $10.00!) to take some home for my family too. For the most part, I loved the donuts. I had some cinnamon/sugar one first, which I wasn't really a fan of, but the other 11 have been great! I got three cream-filled donuts, and they do NOT skimp on the filling like some other donut places do. I think their cake donuts are the star of the show. One of our girls got some loaded potato soup which smelled and apparently tasted delicious. The staff was friendly and there was ample seating. I find it almost impossible that these recent positive reviews can be real. I used to LOVE this place and their donuts but the last 2 times I've been there it has been disappointing, I decided this morning I would give them a 3rd try and REALLY hoping that they would be at least decent. NOPE! These were literally the worst donuts I have ever seen and/or tasted! I don't know if you can tell from the photo below but they clearly made some kind of recipe error or sum with the chocolate frosting and decided that they would sell em anyway?? The lady and boy working there can't possibly be owners or managers or there's no way they would allow these donuts to be sold. It is the same color as caramel and just disgustingly taste like burnt sugar. The chocolate cake underneath is super dense, dry, and crumbly. I'm not exaggerating when I say they are inedible! If you need a sweet treat, Donut Shack is where its at. We were on a Foodie Adventure when we came across the Donut Shack. As we walked in the air was filled with the aroma of sweet goodness. There are many varieties of donuts and pastries. We of course had to eat a doughnut before leaving the Donut Shack. The doughnuts are so fluffy and light that its so hard to eat only one, but we had to refrain ourselves from eating more which was difficult ride home with the smell of doughnuts filling the car. Sometimes I do. Sometimes I don't. When I do... the honey glazed crullers (when fresh) are amazing. Very light and airy with an almost crispy outside. They can almost be addictive because you can't just have one. The lemon filled donuts are solid. Filled to capacity and coated with an even layer of powdered sugar. The honey glazed twist...crispy outer layer, light and airy on the inside and appropriately portioned. When I don't...the customer service is off. Completely off. The donuts are not as fresh as I would like them (fresh out the fryer). But maybe I just need to find out their fry and cooking times. The chocolate donuts are not really (not at all) as chocolate as they should be ---a fudge donut should literally be almost like a fudge brownie. The one we tried had fudge drenched over a white cake. Of course I'll be back (it's a 24hr donut shop), but I'll likely stick with my favorites. read more

We love Donut Shack and have been regular patrons but lately they have made a few changes not for the better. Our two favorite donuts are blueberry crumb and Strawberry shortcake and they made unwelcome changes to both ! The blueberry crumb used to have this great crumbly topping and now it's just a sugary dust. And Strawberry shortcake used to have Strawberry jam and vanilla Kreme filling together..the best! Now it's just a Strawberry flavored cream...not nearly as good. Bring back the originals please!! read more

I love donuts. These donuts are nice and dense. The texture is very rich - the dough is not dry at all. The donut were fluffed enough but not too airy. The dough kind of a fresh baked cheese effect - the dough hung when you tore it (so kind of a brilliant under baked donut). OMG where do start?! Their donuts are absolutely amazing! So delicious! I'm so surprised how light and airy the donuts are! Their Boston creme is one of the best I've ever had! Perfect place for your late night cravings. Totally appreciate that they're open 24 hours. Closer than Krispy Kreme. Bottom line, if you're questioning yourself as to whether or not you should try it, just GO and see and taste for yourself! My co-worker periodically brings donut holes from the Donut Shack to work, and they are delicious, so I had to visit this place myself. I went on a Sunday afternoon around 12 pm and was able to easily find parking. The staff was very friendly. When I couldn't decide what to buy, they suggested purchasing 20 donut holes at 10 cents each so I can try a variety (btw, you can buy a maximum of 20 donut holes at 10 cents each; if you want more, you have to buy the box of 40 holes for around $5.) I was really impressed by the variety of donuts and pastries; they had flavors I've never seen at Dunkin Donuts. I purchased the French cruller and blueberry cake donuts for $1 each. These tasted good, but were not outstanding. Although I was warned by other Yelp reviews to avoid the coffee, I wanted to see if it was really that bad. Unfortunately, they were right! The coffee tastes awful and is very watery. It's a shame that a donut shop has terrible coffee; thus, I had to give them 3 stars, though I will be back for the donuts! read more

My wife and I were talking about Donut Shack and all of the allegedly bad reviews as we were driving through Severna Park so I figured I would give it a shot. How bad could it be right? It was later in the afternoon so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt but the donut case was pretty barren with no flavors that any of us really wanted. I was already committed so I bought half a dozen random flavors. They were without a doubt some of the dryest donuts I've ever had. They reminded me of the cheap, garbage donuts you get from a grocery store bakery. Luckily we have a toddler in the house that we can pawn them off on but she still only wants the frosting.
