I've bought donuts here over the years. On 1/9/25, I went there for a dozen. Somethings changed! Although donuts are fresh, they don't taste the same. They've changed something. There is not as much flavor. I tried Chocolate Glazed, Chocolate frosted, and several others. That good doughnut cakey flavor is gone. Prices are up and the quality went down. Amazing donut experience at the Donut Wheel! Drove a little out of my way to get there but totally worth it. My wife and I love a good donut! Wear a mask when entering the building right now! The signage on the door doesn't require it but kindly asks for patrons to wear one. They've also done a good job of creating some barriers between the customer and the employees. The lack of ambience of any kind is the only reason they don't get five stars. Everything else ranges from good to great. For starters I apologize for no pictures I will add some after my next trip. So they have a nice selection but a lot of them are standard doughnut fare as far as size and shape are concerned, what sets them apart is how good they taste..their glazed doughnut is to die for, I personally buy the doughnut holes by the sackful and am not ashamed to admit it. The frosted varieties are a sugar lover's dream. These guys might even get a kick back from the insulin industry, they are that doggone sweet. It's a family run business so the service is always prompt and personable. Recommend, you betcha. Just get there early they have been known to sell out. read more

Happy treat! Saturday night I was returning from my trip and stopped by to get some fast food. Then across the street I saw the "magical" sign, donut wheel. I thought it was probably closed but to my delight it was still open! Then I thought surely they'll be low on inventory but let me check it out. My eyeballs practically popped out when I saw their cases fully stocked with ALL of my family's favorites! I was giddy because I would be able to bring my family their favorite treat when I arrived home after not seeing them for a couple days. Double bonus! It was after 8:00, the employee was extremely kind and he even gave me a couple extra glazed donuts no charge! I do not live in this area so I'm not sure if this is a normal thing but I was so happy and my family was too! I plan to stop by now every time I'm driving by Ina road and 10 interstate! I was so irritated with Dunkin Doughnuts. They had nothing left and were still open for hours. So we took a drive down to this little doughnut shop. I was so happy we did. They had plenty of choices available, including the sprinkles ones my little bro and sis wanted. We got a cheap dozen. Now...I'm not a big jelly doughnut fan but the lady said they had one filled with raspberry. I always like something new so I went for it...wow...this thing was ridiculous! It tastes so good! We also got Boston cream ones that were incredible. Their dough is so good and the doughnuts are sweet but not disgustingly so. Donut Wheel was alright. Nothing spectacular by my book. Was better than grocery store donuts. But not in the same league as the royal pair, Queen Donuts or Donut King. The texture of the glazed items were not as fluffy. The flavor was not as yummy. I mean, when you put a Queen Donut or a Donut King donut in your mouth, you go "Oh, man! Mmn, mmn, mmn!" I heard this classic, local donut shop used to have lines out the door until the road construction began. I'm all about supporting small businesses especially when the owners are cherished by the community and their product is good, which is what this place is about. Eating out after all isn't just about the food--it's the entire experience. So instead of going to more popular/modern/fancy shops as we had planned, we took the detour to come here. Our tummies and hearts felt good about it. Plus it was a bit fun zigzagging around the orange cones. I really enjoyed the apple fritter. Between the Ina exit shutdown and COVID , I still went here to help local small business. However, after today I will no longer go here. Its no longer about the donuts, it' about the cost and common sense. I ordered a dozen donuts ($11.50.. I believe) and a bag of donut holes ($2.49).. I got 8 regular donuts and 4 bars. The lady behind the counter said "the bars will make it cost more". I said thats fine, thinking my dozen will be a like $13 or so... my bill came to $22.18!!!! I asked how did my bill get to $22.18... she said the bars are .75 cents each.. so she charged for half a dozen ($8.50) and 6 donuts including the bars individually. I am sitting there scratching my head because the math still doesn't add up. $8.50 for half a dozen, $3 for 4 bars equals $11.50.. $2.50 for donut holes.. equals $14.00!!! I am still missing 2 regular donuts, so are they $4.00 each? This still doesn't make sense. They tried to explain it and none of their confusing explanation made sense.. they said remove 1 bar.. it changes the price... then it was remove three bars... so I had to remove all my bars. Now I have 1 dozen regular donuts and the donut holes.. my bill came to $14.92. Well.. little did I know that she didn't include the donut holes!!! Now this really makes no sense.. so I overpaid because of the bars somehow.. which basically in their mind offset the donut holes and she wanted me to pay another .50!!! But I had no bars now. At that point she saw how mad and disgusted we were, and didn't ask us to charge our card for .50!! Sadly, this was for a little girls Birthday, to surprise her with a single donut with sprinkles before school, I decided to buy more to support the local business. Due to the ridiculousness of price gouging and confusing your customers, I can't support that and won't go back. Also, when we left, another lady who was helped next to us said they ripped her off also. She got 2 donuts and a Croissant and couldn't understand how she paid so much. I didn't get the details, but we aren't the only ones they're doing this to. I just caught it before I paid $22 dollars for a dozen donuts and some holes....they should be ashamed. read more

This is a great place to buy fresh donuts to take to work or home for a yummy breakfast on Saturday or Sunday. They open at 5 am but I have stopped as early as 4:30 am and they were open. The service is good whether you go inside or use the drive thru. On several occasions when purchasing 3 or 4 dozen for work, they have given me bakers dozens which I thought was really nice. The donuts at Donut Wheel are always fresh. If i have one complaint it would be that they do not make donuts that you can buy regularly at other donut stores. I wish I could buy glazed custard filled donuts and Long Johns filled with cream. The only Long Johns with cream are the ones filleted and stiffed with cream and cannot be included in a dozen. The staff could be a little bit friendlier but I think they are more concerned with filling the orders and getting everyone waited on. It can get very busy in the mornings, but they move the line quickly. They also sell juice, milk, coffee, and some special breakfast pastries. read more
