I was hoping to try one of the breakfast sandwiches, but had to opt for a pastry because service was so slow. I ordered my go-to basic drip coffee with cream. It was perfect! Definitely the morning pick me up I needed. Since I wasn't able to get a hardier breakfast, I opted for a donut. The cake donut was definitely yummy! While there were three people working behind the counter, I had to wait about 10 minutes to even order. One staff member was making drinks, another making food, and the third was making signs. I'm sure the signs were important, but so are customers who are standing in front of you. Bottom line, I will give Uptown another shot when I'm back in the area because the coffee was that good and the sandwiches being made looked and smelled delicious.

If you like quality, artisan baked goods (nothing against the glazed donut/cream filled donut crowd) this is the place to go in Marion. The folks behind the counter were super friendly and made us feel good about stopping by. Finding it threw me for a second, though. They are in a house in what looks like a normal housing neighborhood. The sign is under the eaves and it's set back front the sidewalk under a nice shade tree. Dunkin' Donuts is not fancy, gourmet, or boutique bakery treats, y'all. It's fast food breakfast pastries and coffee and you get what you pay for. This location seems to get pretty busy so you might catch them when the lobby is a little disheveled or the donut selection is slim, but the staff is always incredibly friendly and quick to deliver your order. I'd say my drink is made to my liking about 80% of the time. If I remember to try my drink before I leave the store, they've always been willing to fix any issues. I don't eat much of the other prepared food, but I can always find a donut or two to pair with my latte. Lately, there also seem to be more themed donuts in the mix - spiders and snowmen anyone?! The thing that really keeps me coming back though is the staff. I've seen a lot of different faces like any fast food place, but they're usually really cheerful or goofy and brighten my mornings.
