Today I visited this WInchell's and told the employee at Winchell's Donut House at 6550 E. Evans Ave Denver, Co 80224 (303-756-4991) that I would like to order a dozen various donuts and pastries. I asked the employee if I can use a Restaurant.com coupon for my order. He spoke to his manager and the manager then told me that they don't accept these coupons and haven't for a long time. He also said my coupon had expired and pointed to the purchase date. I told him that was the date I purchased the coupon and that these never expire. I also told him that is odd that you don't accept them because I used one at the same store in November. I asked when they stopped accepting them to which he had no answer. He and his employees could not speak nor understand English which made communication extremely difficult. I told him that I would not be ordering anything today and left. I will never give this Winchell's my business in the future because of the rude manner in which I was treated and lied to. This Winchell's is clearly listed on Restaurant.com as a participating business who accepts these coupons. They are being dishonest with customers who have paid money for these coupons. I will be going to Lamar's from now on. Their donuts and pastries are excellent. Their customer service is superb. read more

The owners are really great here, fresh food, great in and out location. Super kind and friendly service with a great fresh selection. I bring donuts to my staff at work 3 or 4 times a month and these guys always help us out with a great tasting variety. These guys always get my business... So I'm driving down Evans when all of a sudden I get a huge craving for doughnuts and then I pass Winchell's. I wasn't too sure what to expect. I grew up in NC on Krispy Kreme and love their cream filled and the warm glazed when the sign is lit up hot and now. Winchell's was pretty good though. I went for just the sugar doughnut and the one that's glazed and then smothered in cinnamon. Both were good choices, tasty and fresh. However I ended up with a couple extra sugar donuts because they don't accept cards for purchases under $3 and I had no cash. Donuts are mediocre at best. I tried the sprinkle and long john- as someone else said, the long johns kind of skimp on the cream, but they are extra long. The sprinkle donut was a little stale and generally unimpressive. The service was good and fast, however and I'm giving one extra star for being open 24 hours. read more

I'm a doordash driver and a frequent patron of the Winchell's south broadway location, it's on of my favorites. But this particular Winchell's on Evans, the young man who works nights has not even started making my order until I arrived and asked for it. The first time he was just sitting behind the counter on his phone. I've worked in restaurants my whole life and have also had doordash in them. When you get an order, the idea is to have it ready as close to the arrival of the driver. I understand if it's busy, but both times the store was empty. Please make doordash more of a priority when you can. The more time we wait for our orders to be ready, the more money we lose. Thanks. Love the donuts tho! read more

These donuts are amazing!!! But the croissants are made fresh, literally I was watching the guy make them! The service was polite and was ready when we were. We also had the breakfast burritos, which were very tasty and fresh as well. THIS PLACE IS NO joke! It's DELICIOUS! So when you're lucky enough to get a fresh one, they're actually pretty good. Their custard filled long Johns need more filling. There's maybe two tablespoons worth in the whole thing. We ordered doughnut holes from grub hub, this was the third time I've ordered from them. They never package the correct ones, they just throw in whatever they have even if you paid for something specific. If you order drinks good luck whether they get to you not completely melted already. The doughnut holes were not the correct flavors, and you could tell they had been sitting there for a long time. They were not good. This is an awful mentality to have for a business. I'm still surprised they're open. Every once in a while I'll crave a doughnut and come here, but I swear I'm disappointed nine times out of ten. I should learn my lesson and find somewhere else. read more

He went to a dark, and very questionable back room, to make our breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burrito which we later discover he pulled from a freezer or fridge because the two were not fully warmed up the burrito was 10% heated the rest was a sold chunk of ice. We looked around and noticed how disgusting the place was inside. We looked to the back and the donuts were all out underneath old dusty hanging holiday ornaments. Sorry but this location reminds me of the coffeehouse slach diner in the horror movie that you decide to stop into on your way up to some remote place where you're going to ultimately get butchered by some crazy after tripping over 12 twigs in the woods. Though it sits at a very busy intersection, it has the desolate feeling, it has the smell of plastic dolls with old clothing and the guy who runs the place seemed a bit detached after seeming to just appear at the counter. The donuts I purchased were of low quality and, had a really been caught up in the horror movie theme, I would have expected something gross to squirt into my mouth when I bit into it. I've loved Winchell's since I was a kid so I am no stranger to this particular little hut of yummy goodness. But this particular Winchell's is a consistent let-down. I purchased 4 online deals for donuts good only at this location (and another too far away). Boy am I sorry I did! All 36 I have brought home and to to office so far have been sad, sorry, dry, clearly made the day before, misshapen, misfit donuts. The 2 times I went to get them the employee was impatient and unfamiliar with the deal and as a result treated me as though I was stealing them. Long story short - don't buy the deal if you have to go to this location, and drive a little further for your donut fix. read more

Not sure if the donuts are good yet. But the guy was a complete jerk! And that's the G rated version. What part of "the customer is always right" does he not understand?!? All I asked was him the sprinkle a little bit of powdered sugar on the top of my donut holes and he complained bitterly telling me he doesn't have time for that. I was wasting his time. If you're looking for yummy fat pills on a Sunday, this is your place. The sign says they're open 24 hours a day, so I guess any time is doughnut time. The owner is gregarious and a funny, non-threatening fried dough salesman. When I go in the buy a few (for my kids) he always says "How many dozen today?" Ambiance is zilch, always a few cabdrivers hunched together, but who wants to eat a doughnut in the place? Half the fun is the box and the big reveal when you get home. My whole order was wrong and when I tried to fix it, they refused to work with me and they claimed they wouldn't refund my money because they tried to contact me to tell me that EVERY SINGLE THING I ordered was out, they had only been open for an hour. Not sure why people have so many complaints about them, I've yet to have a doughnut that I thought was stale, but I also tend to go in the morning, when they would probably be the most fresh. The only thing I've seen happen is when you order online sometimes the doughnuts get mixed up, but they're all still tasty, and I assume they were probably out of what I ordered and they try to pick something similar. If the choice is for them to sub a doughnut or call me and take longer, I'd rather just have them sub one. Have had the breakfast sandwiches quite a few times too and those are always tasty as well. I usually get mine on a croissant, which is light and fluffy and usually warmed up. The eggs are clearly fresh eggs (you can see whites and yolks), not some container of fake eggs poured on the griddle. All in all I've been really happy with them! read more

I experienced the best customer service from the owner, Toufik Benbelkacem!!! Toufik hand delivered a beautiful assortment of fresh donuts, bagels and hot coffee two days in a row. He arrived promptly at 7:30 am both days and was extremely kind and generous to add extra pastries, donuts and bagels to my order both days. He also made sure to provide all of the cups, napkins, sugar, creamer, etc. I would need with my orders. With all of the newer donut shops around town, I still love the taste of a good, old fashion donut and Winchell's is my "go to" location for that.
