If you're looking for a hometown feel donut shop this is the place for you, there are about ten tables and so many delicious donuts. They have coffee, frozen coffee drinks, and cappuccinos. The glazed donut was so delicious. He even threw in two donuts and a coffee for free, would definitely recommend coming here. read more

I had a hankering for a Boston Creme donut. You know the one, cream filling with chocolate icing. Yum! When these yearnings pop up, I usually go to a grocery store and get one from the bakery. This morning I decided to go old school and go to a real donut shop. Winchell's was close so I parked and went in. Even though there was a woman sweeping the floor, there was a murky, unclean feeling to the place. Maybe because it was so dark in there. I don't know and didn't care. I just wanted my donut. I asked for a long john with chocolate frosting and cream filling. Feeling pretty cocky, I decided to get another donut. I asked for lemon. They did not have one. I asked for something besides raspberry filling. All they had was raspberry. I settled for a chocolate donut with chocolate icing. It came to $2.88 for the two. Mental note: Grocery store would have charged about $1.20. I paid and went to the car. I looked in the sack and next to the long john was a white donut with chocolate frosting. Back in I went. I pointed again to the one I wanted. He got it and the woman refunded me $1.20. Wow! There was that much of a difference between the two donuts? Just wow! I drove, stopped at the light and peeked inside the bag. The guy had removed the long john and replaced it with the chocolate/chocolate. The chocolate/white was still in the bag. Enough with Winchells! I didn't go back. Who knows what he would have given me a third time. I took a bite of the chocolate/chocolate. It was stale; certainly not made today. When I have a hankering for a donut again,I'll go to a grocery store. I gave one star for them being open. And one star for saving me God knows how many calories because I gave away the white/chocolate donut and threw away the rest of the other one. read more

Yummy donuts of a wide variety.. The breakfast sandwiches remind me slightly of NYC (now if only we could add BACON, then it would be perfect). They deliver- even in awful snowy conditions. Overall, I'm happy there's a place to get breakfast delivered near me - too bad they aren't 24 hrs like some locations because then I'd be in heaven! read more

So I ordered a delivery, which apparently they have no problem doing. The driver told me he was at my location an hour late.. Totally wasn't. Refused to tell which cross streets he was at or come into the business he was apparently at. I had a rather large order for a ton of hungry Dancers and now we have to wait for another delivery from another restaurant. I was pretty disappointed in this place. . The guy that helped me was nice enough but the place seemed dirty and after getting home and trying some of the doughnuts I had selected I found that not only were they ALL very stale but they tasted old. They had obviously been sitting in the display case for atleast a day or two. They need to give the place a deep cleaning and then bake their doughnuts fresh every morning so they are fresh. I like this winchell's, Every Time I stop by in the morning the donuts are fresh. I normally get an Apple fritter and i have yet to be disappointed. The staff Is Nice, place is clean. I like heartier donuts and think that they have the exact texture and consistency I look for. I Honestly do not understand the negative reviews but like my dad always said " to each their own". Today was the second time we've ordered from Winchell's and I have to say, this place quickly is becoming a favorite. The staff are very friendly and make you feel like family. First time in and they were happy to see us and the donuts, burrito and iced coffee were delicious! Second time, today, we ordered breakfast through Eat24 and were not disappointed. Quick and kind delivery and our selections were fresh and yummy! Even threw in an extra muffin! We love this place and will definitely be back. Thanks guys! read more

This is the worst meal I've ever had. I ordered the Extreme Bacon Avocado and I expected sliced avocado but what I got was mushed up "avocado" brown, and old on the sandwich. I took a bite and immediately spit it out. So disgusting. I also ordered a toasted wheat bagel with cream cheese and what I got was the exact opposite. White bagel, not toasted, and cream cheese on one side. In addition, I ordered a "strawberry" smoothie. What I got was a cup of watery syrup and ice. No straw. I also received two extremely stale donuts. I was not pleased at all and it was so gross that based on the other reviews I'm pretty sure that they took my sandwich out of the freezer and microwaved it. I will never eat at Winchell's again. Came to the store, saw employee in back making donuts. I called for him, he ignored me. Finished one batch and started another then finished, left my presence in front, uninterested in selling. After 2 additional minutes I left, giving up. Avoid at all cost. This has happened twice. He was speaking to another customer and chatting, not interested in selling either. Plus the jelly donuts was extremely saturated full of sugar that you could bang at it and shards will fall off, and tiny fillings. One of the donuts had nearly no filling. I thought all Winchell's were generally the same, until I found this one. Wow. Amazingly poor customer service, which was only outdone by their dismal selection of donuts. Was there around 10am, and had a Groupon to use. Tried to get two dozen donuts, but was told only one per visit. Inconvenient, but would have been ok if it would have been said nicely. Then I ask for the last 7 or so of one kind, but was told that I could only have a couple of them since they didn't have any more. Hey folks, it's not my fault you have extremely poor management and planning. Have never been told which donuts I'm allowed to order, and most certainly won't ever be back to repeat this experience. A huge black mark against this great Donut chain: Not all Winchell's are created equally = pick a different location. read more

I can no believe what I saw when I went in to purchase a late night snack this evening!! A ROACH! Crawling in the donut case!! It was the up most disgusting thing ever!! I can't even explain what kind of roach this was either! So nasty! Even worse when I told the guy that I'm good I just saw a roach in your case he just smiled... this horrid I know kind of smirk!!! I mean an hour for delivery of a few donuts and then not bringing half of my order doesn't warrant a very good review. The donuts are not nearly good enough to wait an hour for them to get there. Horrible simply horrible service. Tried doing a delivery order through Eat24 and never got my food. Called after an hour and they told me they were out of burritos, I asked why they didn't call and they had no answer for me. They said they would substitute, I said ok. They told me 20 min, 30 min later, nothing. I contacted the people at the app, they said it is on the way. 2 hours and 10 min to later i cancelled the order. I wish I could give 0 stars. read more
