Great place to visit in DCA!…read more Just an FYI, I noticed that unless you have your stroller designated as a wheelchair, you can't bring it in and you have to park it outside for those who have children. Kids love this place as they can run around, go down a slide, and use the tire zipline among the rope climbing areas. I think it's a more physical and interactive space where they can also learn about the wilderness and how we can take care of nature around us versus just running around a regular playground. You can interact with the cast members there and sometimes they have photo pass opportunities here too. For Oogie Boogie Bash, this area is used for the Villain's Grove and during the Xmas season you can meet Santa here or decorate some cookies. I went during the Hoppers Collaboration and it's a cute little "scavenger hunt" with signs of the critter characters, a puzzle to decode, and photo opportunities with some free stickers. Super cute and fun! Hope it becomes permanent since the theme is perfect and since I love Tom Lizard.

They can climb on rock walls, play up in the rope house and even do tire swings. My kids can play here for hours without knowing. If we need a break from rides and the heat, this is the spot we like going to and just let the kids run around. My kids are still pretty small so I follow them but bigger kids can just explore with you feeling confident that they are contained and safe. Great spot. Totally recommend.

My first recent try was to go the traditional route - heater, filter, bottles of water conditioner & beneficial bacteria, etc. etc. - when I unexpectedly happened upon an eye-opening You-Tube vid about the Walstad method (less homework & a more natural environment, the way God intended). So I returned all that other gear & am starting from scratch. Fernando eased My initial anxiety arriving as a total tank newbie, and gave Me a tour of the various low-maintenance plants I could start My nitrogen cycling with. Nolan - the Captain of this aquarium supplies ship - answered every one of My questions with patience & grace, did not talk down to Me or make Me feel stupid, and I left feeling happily hopeful that I might actually be successful in creating a fish-friendly safe & healthy environment. I am already envisioning My future fishy tenants, plus a snail & a sucker fish or two. Wish Me luck!! :-)

As I was checking out, my daughter noticed a little orange goldfish toy and started crying because she wanted it. I asked Nolan how much he wanted for it, and instead of charging me, he smiled and said we could have it for free. That simple act made my daughter's day and meant a lot to us. It's rare to find businesses that go out of their way to show kindness like that. I'll definitely be coming back for more fish and highly recommend Nolan's Aquarium to anyone looking for healthy fish and excellent customer service.

I finally had a day off work and was able to take them on a Friday. They had the ocean encounter and Scooby doo event simultaneously which we got to enjoy as well. Lots of different learning activities that were interesting for the girls. Their favorite place is the shopping mart. When they told me about this place before, I thought it was just a market like Pretend City where you buy things and put it in the cart. To my surprise, they have different missions that always teach you how to be an eco-shopper or healthy shopper. I really loved the education tired into these activities. As an adult, I loved this area as well. My second favorite place was the recycling center game. It definitely brings out the competitiveness in all of us. I found out that I was a terrible garbage sorter LOL There is definitely room for improvement. My 7 year old enjoyed the dinosaur exploration area. She enjoyed looking for items with the digital scanner you check out at their store desk. We learned a lot of fun facts and got to enjoy the nice outdoors without being too hot. The touch pool was fun. We got to feel the sharks and sting rays. The ocean encounter exihibit was nice and peaceful. Lots of information about preserving our oceans. I enjoyed all the lantern ocean mammals hanging in the sky. Very nice. Scooby doo area was a nice play for photo fun and discovery mysterious. Girls enjoyed the different activities they had there. Needless to say, this was a great day for all of us. I highly recommend visiting!

Pros: clean, fun, high energy. Bathrooms were clean and easy to find. Staff was readily available. Spacious even for a big group. Organized. I hurt my hand on the swinging door (totally my fault) and I was able to quickly get an ice pack from a staff member. Guests were emailed a complementary pic taken by the staff with the BounceU logo. Cons: not a big deal at all, but I walked into the wrong room once and other people walked into our group room 2-3 times while in the glow room. I don't think it was a big deal but would be good to have the party name on the door to prevent this. Parking was packed as they share the lot with the rest of the shopping center. No fault to the establishment but just allow time to find parking.

Plenty of different bounce houses so they don't get board. Clean rest rooms. Staff was super nice and friendly. You will experience 2 separate bounce rooms then a final dining area. What's nice is you stay with your group or party the entire time so there's no mingling with people that are not in your party. CONs: Prices for the additional games and activities is a bit high.

don't typically leave negative reviews, but I feel other parents should know about our experience…read more I have always hosted my daughters' birthday parties at home. This year, I wanted to do something different and give myself a break from all the planning, setup, cleanup, and stress. I chose Kids Empire after attending another birthday party here that was so well done. I expected to have that same experience, but unfortunately, ours was the complete opposite. We hosted our daughter's 5th birthday on Thursday, July 11, with about 40 guests. I dropped off our balloons, cake, and drinks ahead of time and was told I didn't need to arrive early because everything would be set up. Thankfully, I did anyway because almost nothing had been put out except the tablecloths, cups, and Kids Empire's drinks. I ended up setting everything up myself. The biggest concern was safety. Both restrooms were closed due to plumbing issues, forcing our guests to walk to Target just to use the restroom. Meanwhile, the back exit door was left wide open for the plumber with no employee monitoring it. Parents from my party stood by the door because we were worried children could accidentally walk outside. When we expressed our concerns, the only response was, "It's open for the plumber." Our party package included seven pizzas, but Kids Empire forgot to order them. We didn't find out until we asked where they were around 6:30. The pizzas didn't arrive until 7:40--after our party had ended--so I ended up giving away full pizza boxes for families to take home. We were also told the dragon mascot would come out, but instead of interacting with the kids, it was only a rushed photo before we were hurried along. I will say the local manager was kind, empathetic, and did everything she could to help. Tried offering free passes to come back. She followed up with me and escalated everything to the regional manager. Unfortunately, the overall handling of the situation still left me disappointed. When the regional manager took away the passes to come back. I chose to have the party here so I could relax and enjoy my daughter's special day instead of worrying about the details. Instead, I found myself handling many of the things I paid the venue to take care of while dealing with issues that should never happen at a children's party. Sadly, I can't recommend hosting a birthday party here. Many parents at our party told me it was their first time visiting Kids Empire, and after everything they witnessed, several said they wouldn't be coming back. Unfortunately, I won't be referring anyone here either.

Severe ADA Violation - Denied Entry by Manager Josie for Medical NecessityReview Text:…read more I am deeply disappointed and frustrated by my experience at this establishment regarding a blatant refusal to accommodate a legitimate medical necessity. I have Sjögren's disease, a chronic autoimmune condition that attacks moisture-producing glands. This causes severe, constant oral dryness and extreme thirst, requiring me to have immediate, continuous access to water. When I tried to enter with my water bottle, I was stopped. I explicitly explained my medical condition and the physical necessity of having hydration on hand. Despite this clear medical explanation, the manager/employee, Jose, refused to allow me to enter. Instead, he gave me an unacceptable ultimatum: I could either repeatedly walk back and forth to my car in the parking lot to drink water, or I could purchase water directly from the venue.Under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), public businesses are strictly required to make reasonable modifications to their policies to accommodate individuals with medical conditions and disabilities. Forcing a customer to pay for water or exit the building repeatedly just to access a medical necessity is a clear violation of public accommodation laws.Manager/employee, Jose and the rest of the front-line staff desperately need proper training on ADA compliance and basic customer empathy. I expect the ownership to take immediate corrective action so that no other patron with a medical condition is subjected to this unlawful treatment.
