The beers here are artisan to say the least, and very high quality, and the brew master is the true artist. All this means the beer, location, and atmosphere are top notch. Fantastic place!! Great vibe and some wonderful craft brews. My wife and I have relatively diverse beer palates. A flight of five including both Porters and a Hibiscus IPA was excellent. Their food options are equally impressive. We got a cheese board with a local cheddar, Swiss and Gouda. It also had some amazing spiced cherry jam that was so good we took a trip farther up the peninsula to buy a jar from the Orchard. Out back there's lots of seating under a pergola or out front at some tables. There was a wood fired pizza truck there too. It smelled and looked incredible but we were already full from several other stops. Overall a great place. read more

My fiance really enjoyed their Polka King more than any of the other beers we tried. The place is really loud. There were kids misbehaving all over the place, and multiple times almost knocked over our beers over from hitting the table so hard. A sign says no dogs allowed, but we saw a couple come in with their dog (which I'm really ok with, just listing the rule...). The water tasted like it was scooped right out of the lake. Granted I'm not from around the area, so maybe that's how it all tastes, but I just couldn't stomach it. We didn't stay long at all just because of how crowded and loud it was getting. Plus their beer is sold in stores by us. I'm sure if it wasn't raining and cold the whole outdoor area and aspect would help out a lot! Don't let the line fool you. The staff here is friendly and efficient and will work through that line like it's nothing. The beer--oh, the beer! I had the Punk Ass Cat IPA, a limited edition release. Holy smokes was it good! My husband had a couple other beers, and all were delightful. We felt so refreshed and happy after our stop there. It's a great atmosphere, and always seems to be hopping! It appears they just moved into that new building, and the materials used were all reclaimed. I enjoyed looking at the brick wall and checking out the different bricks they used. It's pretty cool. Door County Brewery is well worth the trip to either sample or tip a couple of pints. The taproom offers great ambience and Ben was a great host and conversationalist. They offer 5 top-fermented ales. Unfortunately, no lagers here folks. The Polka King Porter is top-notch and can go head-to-head with just about any in the genre. The gift shop was a little sparse but understandable given that it was December. We ended up taking a case of Polka King back home with us. Best of success to Door County Brewery! NEIPA, adjunct stout, traditional IPA, Saison....Carly, Andy, and the dude from Atlanta were all fantastic.....only disappointment is in myself for not asking for the prices on the two unmarked guy and girl shirts I bought. Looked at the receipt and thought I was in California!! $28 for a regular logo t shirt and $46 for a very thin woman's long sleeve hooodie. $46!?!?!?!? Oh well at least it was fun. read more

What a fun, off the beaten path brewery. The decor is rustic yet modern with beautiful silver taps framed by white subway tiles as you walk in. They offer a six beer sampler that is delectable. Great venue and a real family business--I was impressed by the service, the space, and the beers. The music was too loud (looking around, it was easy to see each person there leaning into the person next to them saying "WHAAAAAT?" while trying to chit-chat) but when there's great free music, so it's hard to complain. The space itself might be one of the coolest I've seen in Door County. Vintage barn meets upscale kitchen/restoration hardware. Awesome! I was particularly impressed that they offer "guest taps" for beer from other Wisconsin breweries. I hope they keep this up even when they are brewing more of their own beers--three cheers for collegiality and collaboration! Keep up the good work, Door County Brewing Company! read more

This is my new favorite place when visiting Door County. The staff is knowledgable about their beers and when your there they make you feel like you are hanging out at your friends house rather than a business. On to the important part the beer. All of the beers are full of solid complex flavors. My favorite of their main beers is the Polka King. This has a nice smooth taste with hints of caramel very light for a dark beer. The wife who will always pass on any dark beer happily drank this there and then ordered Polka King anytime she had a chance for the rest of the trip. My second favorite was the Little Sister. This is a wit beer that has very complex flavors with great hints of spice and citrus. This would be my new go to summer beer if it was sold in Illinois. We bought enough to get us through for a bit but are rationing it out. Lastly if you are there and they tell you they are tapping a Coconut Milk Stout make sure you are there to try it. AMAZING!! Kinda disappointing this place lost the cool vibe the old location had. Used to be a really cool craft brewery now it kinda screams tourist trap. Beers are still good, albeit overpriced. BBQ shack is a joke. $14 for a BBQ beef sandwich and I honestly couldn't say if it good or not because it had barely any meat on it. Plus they're following the ridiculous trend of asking for a tip for doing nothing but taking your order. read more

What a fantastic brewery! I was greatly impressed. We visited in the early afternoon on a Saturday. We were starving, so we brought in take out from another eatery, which the brewery was totally cool with us doing since they only offered limited food (I think a cheese plate, cheese curds, pretzels, and the like). We found a table, ordered 2 flights, and got to eating and tasting. The flights were a great way to get to try all their beers. The flights were $12 to taste 7 beers. Their Polka King Porter and Silurian Stout were by far my favorites, but all the beer was good - I just tend to prefer the heavier beers. We ended up taking home 6 packs of each the porter and stout. The Little Sister Wit Beer was delicious with our take out sandwiches of pulled pork and brisket. The place filled up in the time we were there by late afternoon. I heard there is live music on Saturday evenings too. We were checked on many times by the waitstaff, and they were all very nice. I did notice they have bike parking because a big group that was there when we arrived had biked over from their hotel, and parked all their bikes outside. We didn't have bikes with us, but I could see myself biking there to work off some of the beer I would be drinking! Do visit this place! read more

Super cute place. My family has been in the bar business for 20+ years and I was shocked this place closed at 8pm with every table full. Unless it's a city rule there's no reason a brewery should be closing at 8pm on a Saturday night. You're making money, why turn customers away especially when you have the staff to work. Hopefully you guys can fix your hours to better accommodate your customers. read more

There were a lot of things this place did well. Beers were fantastic Out door seating was great There were also a few misses. I know the focus is not the food, and they did have a food truck, which was a nice touch. I just wish that they did a more local snack menu of maybe local cheese, local meats. For whatever reason when I think of Wisconsin, summer sausage is part of the menu, and they did not have it. Overall we did enjoy the beer and atmosphere, just think they could take advantage of all of the local food from the area. read more

Brewery definitely had a nice set up. Outside area, games inside and out. Loved there flight pallets as well. You walk up to the bar and order your flight or drinks. People behind the counter didn't seem enthusiastic or interested in being there. I also wasn't really impressed with the beer. Big Sister tasted watered down. Closer everywhere and well gnaw were decent. But Their peach milkshake ipa called Whatever feels right was delicious! And my favorite was The only time is party time- their milk stout with coconut and cold brew. I had their Punk Ass Cat ipa at grill down the road that i loved, which they had it on draft here as well. Outside they also had Chives food truck, which offered pizza. Pizza sounded delicious after kayaking all afternoon! The only choices they offered that day were a margarita, garden or pepperoni pizza. Wish they offered something more unique or at least one more variety. We went with the pepperoni and it did not disappoint! Cruising through this town, you can't pass up the chance at a local beer stop. Good beers on tap. Lodge type of feel. Cozy and country/hip. I'm enjoying a beer flight of 8 samples. All decent beers. My favorite being the Silurian Stout. No food menu available but we had a cheese board that was superb. Local cheeses accompanied with crackers, nuts and dried fruit. We spent the weekend exploring Door County while camping at Peninsula State Park. As huge beer fans, we had to stop! The beers were great! Definitely get the flights ($8)-best deal. They had four house beers on tap and four guest taps. We wandered in at precisely the right time as a live Bluegrass band was tuning up, about 1 pm on a Sunday. Atmosphere was great, rustic feel. My only wish is that they had a few more food options, but they did recommend a few near by food sources that you can carry-IN! So, come for the great beer and bring your own snacks! read more
