I am an avid fan of ghost tours and have traveled around the country to go on them! I would highly recommend this one as there are spots where you can get off the trolley and go look at the site itself which was pretty cool. This is probably my favorite steak house in town. The wine slush was to die. Everything was very classy from the ruins of the first suicide house to the dumpy apartment from the last murder. One thing to note- they definitely oil their seats. They can be quite slippery as I fell out of my bench twice. Also this establishment is very friendly to a local gang known as the denim dancers. The reeked havoc and once I saw all those jeans i knew something was hinky. They were there to make the stories more dramatic and lied about being from waukesha. High note - the tour guide was the most knowledgeable about all the murders. He also has great taste in props and music. Low point - if you don't know the lyrics to sweet Caroline you will be chastised by other patrons. read more

We joined the Nightly Ghost Trolley tour during mid-October and had a good time. Our guide, Bob, dressed in period costume and provided us with a spooky performance. These types of tours are so much fun when you have a great guide and he definitely had an actor's background. We learned about some haunted houses and even toured the Noble House with another actress guide--in the dark/no lights! Spooky music was played on the trolley as we headed to the cemeteries. Flashlights provided to light our way as we visited the final resting spot of these former homeowners. Take the tour and maybe you'll catch a glimpse of a ghost with your camera. read more

Terrible Customer Service. I had booked 2 Brunch and Bloody Mary tours over a month in advance due to it being Pumpkin Patch Weekend, and was really looking forward to the experience. I learned of a death in the family, literally as we were pulling into the parking lot. I went inside to explain the situation, was given a gift card for 1 Brunch/Bloody Mary tour and was told "this gives you a good reason to come back" "You have experienced a loss, and I will experience a loss in sales if I give you a refund because I cant guarantee I can resell your tickers". Due to it being a busy weekend and the station was full, I can almost guarantee that they were able to fill our seats, regardless... I called back the next day to express my frustration regarding how the situation was handled and what was said to me. I found out I had spoken to the owner and asked to speak with him again. He said a death in the family does not warrant a refund "because death of pets and people happen every day" "I'm trying to run a business here". I was speechless that a "family run business" would have such little regard for their customers. I ended up with a gift card for my 2 Brunch/Bloody Mary tours, but I doubt I will use them. I won't support a business that has such little regard for family and their customers. read more

Went on the Haunted trolley this last weekend and I don't really get the hype. I read some great reviews, but have to say it was kind of a bust. The staff was great but other than that, there was nothing really haunted or spooky about it... The first couple of spots are pretty lame until you get to the dive bars which are a little more entertaining. The only great thing about this was getting a ride around to a few bars. read more

We enjoyed most of the Haunted Trolley Tour. Bob was great. He has a perfect voice for this kind of thing and made all the stories he told interesting. I have to withhold a star though for the stop at the Noble House, where Bob was not the one telling the story. A manic woman with no ability to tell a coherent story greeted us outside the home and led us through it. I have no idea what ghosts are in that home because she was impossible to follow. This is a must do if you are in Door County! I went on the Ghost Trolley Bar Crawl. Our driver Nick was funny and spooky and wore a ridiculous black robe the entire time. My favorite stop on the trolley crawl was the Blue Ox, a fantastic bar discovery for Door County. We were a bit unsure if everyone was going to be down to party, but they most definitely were. The Trolley crawl was very happening and livened up every bar we stopped at. Great times! I'll be sure to take the trolley again next year! read more

My wife and I took 2 tours same day. Started with the winery tour with Bruce. Enjoyable and Bruce was entertaining. Though we didn't really like all the wineries I don't blame the tours for that. Ended the day on the ghost tour with brother James. He is also very entertaining and seems to love doing it. Stories were detailed and sometimes disturbing, but hey, it's a ghost tour right?. I purchased four tickets in advance for the Door County Ghost Tour. My wife, my mother and father in-law, and I arrived a half hour early, which was recommended by the trolley company on the itinerary. We have been on Door County Trolley tours in the past, including the ghost tour. My wife and I were excited to take her parents on this tour because it was an enjoyable experience in the past and this was my in-laws first vacation to Door County. When we checked in for the tour, "Bob" the tour guide directed the four of us to a trolley that that was four seats shy of full. Bob told us that once we boarded the trolley, it would leave shortly thereafter. We were surprised, as we had arrived at 5:30 PM and the trolley tour was not supposed to depart until 6:00 PM. When we boarded the trolley, we then realized that the four remaining seats were not next to each other and our party would be separated for the tour. We got off the trolley and expressed our dissatisfaction to Bob, as we wanted to experience the tour as a family. Bob's response to my family and I was, "There's room on this trolley. You're getting on. Come on!" The tone he used was very condescending and rude and made us feel very uncomfortable. Bob then boarded the trolley and called for us from within the trolley, in front of all of the other passengers already inside. We reluctantly boarded the trolley again, feeling that he would cause us additional embarrassment if we didn't. Once we boarded the trolley, I sat in the last row in between two couples that I didn't know. My wife was seated in the middle of the trolley, and my in-laws were seated near the front of the trolley. A woman seated next to me evidently watched this whole incident unfold. When Bob stepped off the bus she made the comment to the entire trolley that if she was in our situation, she would refuse to be separated and demand to be seated on the next trolley. My wife, in-laws, and I then looked at each other and we all left the trolley. My wife and in-laws began to board the next trolley, which they allowed incoming customers to board. I approached the ticket shed where Bob was talking to his other colleagues. I advised Bob that we decided we wanted to sit together and wished to board the second trolley. Bob responded, "No, you will be staying on that trolley!" Bob again felt used the same condescending and aggressive tone. I kindly explained to him that we purchased the tickets in advance, arrived a half hour early and intended to experience the trolley ride together as a family. Realizing that he was left with no other argument , he responded rudely with something to the effect of "Just go then." The whole reason for purchasing the four tickets together a month in advance was so that we could experience the trolley tour TOGETHER! Furthermore, we had arrived a half hour early to ensure that we would be able to sit together for the duration of the tour. Half of the enjoyment of going on vacation as a family is to share and enjoy each other's experiences and reactions along the way. My advice is to not cave in to aggressive or confrontational tour guides that attempt to separate parties prior to the tour. It is the tour company's responsibility to accommodate to their customers. I was very disappointed with this experience and do not plan on booking any tours in the future. read more

We rented a trolley for wedding transportation. Our driver BOYD was absolutely FANTASTIC! He was early to our "get ready" location (and made it down a dirt road and turned the trolley around which were honestly a little nervous about). He was kind and accommodating when we were running late getting ready and even offered to help guard some supplies that we were starting to load or putting out for pictures. He handled the Peninsula State Park roads with ease and played some awesome music on the ride over. After the wedding, while the couple was taking pictures and the wedding party decided to stack the chairs to make the next day's rental pickup smooth, Boyd was quick to jump in and help stack chairs! He took a scenic route out of the park so the wedding party could jam out and enjoy each other's company. Overall an awesome experience! read more

Highly recommend!! It was our first time in Door County-went to celebrate our anniversary, and I had a couple friends recommend we do the trolley tour. It was so worth it! We went on the winter wonderland tour. We went to 3 wineries, lunch and then shopping. The wineries were great, one even included a sleigh ride. Everything was very well organized. The trolley tour guide-Btuce-fabulous! He was pretty funny and at wineries he would take your purchases and load them at the front of the trolley/pass them out at the end. The Margaritas and Martini tour started off positively: The trolley picked up our group at the hotel on time, stopped at trolley station for great drinks (try the spicy Bloody Mary & wine slushees!) and we had high hopes for a good day - unfortunately it was downhill from there. First stop was just ok - cool environment but subpar margarita at best. Then the driver said we had a 25 minute drive to the next stop was lunch & drinks, which ended up being much longer. Lunch options were not appealing and we were highly disappointed in the "margarita" which tasted like a mix of squirt and lemonade. Looking around we could tell no one was enjoying because there were full drinks on all the tables. We asked if we could order something else and the waitress seemed completely annoyed. We ended up buying a bottle of wine for too much $$. The food (we all had the bbq pork) was nothing special and we couldn't wait to leave. Our next stop was 2 blocks away on the water, the margarita was just ok. Overall it was not worth the cost and I would prefer not to spend the majority of the time riding in the hot trolley with no A/C. We expected quality food and margaritas for the price and we left completely unsatisfied and disappointed. Would not recommend. read more

We've been to all of the wineries that we're on the itinerary except for Simon's Creek, which was a great last stop and fun to hear about the history with Al Capone. My boyfriend and I had a wedding up in Door County in October, so we decided to stay a few extra days to explore. We did the Wine Tour, and it was awesome! Our tour guide, Bruce, was very fun and entertaining, and all four wineries that we visited were welcoming and knowledgeable. Our visit to each winery allowed just enough time for a group tasting and then a bit of individual exploring (or more tastings!) before getting back on the trolley. Lunch was very well timed (after the second winery) and delicious as well! I would definitely do a tour with Door County Trolley again if we come back to Door County.
