My churro cookie looked like they ran out of frosting, and the strawberry lemonade cookie didnt have the strawberry or the lemon on it. I feel like a premium cookie at a premium price should also come with a premium service, and I just didn't feel that during this visit. There is a private collection museum inside called Chen Art Gallery full of exquisite Chinese art collection by its President & CEO and he shares his collection by providing free guided tours. I discovered what his company produces from the banners inside that we saw walking towards the entrance of the art gallery. This company manufactures herbal nutritional supplements, cosmetics, and skin care products. I ordered one of its lipsticks and I've never had one this moisturizing lipstick ever before. My lips used to always peel using other brands. I also bought one of its face cleanser and it removes all the day's dirt and oil without stripping your skin of its natural moisture. Trying these products and finding out that they keep what they promise they'd do, I'm hoping the eye cream does what it says also of decreasing bags and dark circles under the eyes. I don't have dark circles (yet), but I'm looking forward to decreasing the bags under my eyes, which I believe it will do. You can become a member and order online. It's sent via UPS within a couple days. So far I'm quite happy with their products. Don't forget to schedule a free guided tour of the Chen Art Gallery. The docents are very knowledgeable of each art piece, the Chinese historical periods, and are very energetic and very friendly. You'll regret not visiting the gallery.

It was empty and less people. There's a pay parking meter, and the minimum is $2 for just 30 minutes so right from the start, it felt a bit off. Once I parked, I walked through, and the market itself was really tiny: probably about 20 to 30 vendors in total. You can walk the whole thing in less than five minutes, and the variety was really limited. For example, there was only one vendor selling berries, and the food options were scarce and just didn't look appetizing. The prices were high for what little you got. I probably won't be coming back, maybe I just missed something, but it didn't live up to the hype. On the bright side, there was live music, which was really nice, and the neighborhood felt safe with police presence, plus they did have restrooms available. But overall, it just didn't have that special charm I was hoping for.

Vendors were selling items like uni (sea urchin), loose-leaf tea, empanadas, onigiri, kombucha, $3 drip coffee from Haya Coffee, kettle corn, tamales, muffins, etc. [Conclusion]: This is one of the farmers markets that targets local residents and it is not a market to go out of your way to visit.

I forgot that I had visited India Sweets & Groceries until I saw Alana's recent pics & found my review draft. I discovered this mom & pop when I was picking up lunch takeout in the same strip mall; they're noted for their Indian deli food takeout (there's a few table & chairs if you prefer to dine-in, & kinda cramped) & groceries, & they have cheap, huge samosas! I would detour here to either supplement my lunch or add a mid-afternoon snack. I mostly order samosas... & they are large, flaky shells stuffed with spiced potatoes, peas, onions. They're flavorful & seasoned well, but not always fried properly; sometimes they're greasy because the shell absorbs too much oil (low oil temp, overcrowded pan, improper drainage?) or they're a bit burnt. They come with a tamarind (red) & cilantro (green) dipping chutney; the tamarind is packed with tangy, sweet flavor with a slap of spiciness, while the cilantro is herbaceously savory & vibrant with a slight spicy kick. I usually eat the samosas on its own, & save the chutneys to use on the pakoras because sometimes they're on the bland side. And the pakoras also has similar issues of being too oily. The Aloo & Gobi Parathas are huge & nicely stuffed with spiced mashed potatoes (aloo) & spiced grated cauliflower (gobi). The comforting flatbreads are flavorful & filling... sometimes I'll bundle both into an aloo gobi paratha because I love aloo gobi stir-fry (it's my one of fav Indian dishes & I almost always order it). Since I'm dropping in around lunch, there's usually a line but it moves fairly quick & the foods in the steam tables are fresh due to constant turnover. Sometimes, they do run out of samosas & the wait hasn't exceeded 10-mins. Food prices range from cheap to moderate. Service is more about speed than friendliness, which is fine by me... The Redondo Beach Farmers Market is located in Veterans Park in Redondo Beach. It is within easy…read morewalking distance of the Pier, Beach, and the Park. It only occupies a portion of the lot, so one can still park in the lot to minimize the distance for easy in/out. Currently it runs in the morning on Thursday, stopping around 1 pm, so good for a lunch stop. It DOES have a marvelous view of the ocean. There are two areas: the biggest one in the parking lot, and a smaller one on the George Freeth Way road (where we usually park our car in angled metered spots on non-farmer market days, of course). I would say it fits into the medium/small size farmer's market in LA (with Santa Monica being large and Marina del Rey being towards the smaller), with the typical produce like organic eggs and fruits (strawberries). The vendors seemed to specialize in one or two types of sales. It wasn't crowded at all, and there was opportunity to talk to the vendors without feeling like you were holding others up. There are plenty of variety of prepared food as well, with one of the bigger stands selling freshly popped kettle corn (with free samples!).

Usually I rarely try coffee at fmr mkts but one vendor caught my eye & it was $2.50 for brewed coffee (pour overs aren't my faves). I was pleasantly surprised. It was an Ethiopian medium-dark blend & it full bodied. robust, it was really goo! i liked it so much I returned & was happy to know that refills are $1 (thought I'd pay another $2.50, score!). The vendor was very nice ' we inquired what other mkts he features his coffee. He saud he goes to Torrance as well but only sells. beans there, no brewed coffee. Darn! One other vendor that's new was selling plant based crackers, hummus, & pasta sauces. Out of curiosity I tried some, liked the hummus & purchased dome along with the crackers. Okay, it didn't occur to me to ask until it's paid for how much it was, it was $14, which I think is a bit pricey. Thank goodness I tried it first but perhaps next time I'll ask for the cost & weigh in whether I should get it or not. Hubby had to get the specialty kettle popcorn, it was $8 and it's very addicting. It was so good, he finished the whole bag. Well worth it for the biggest little kid in him. I did try em, oh so good! I had to stay away from it. It's a very nice day at the beach, we strolled along & enjoyed the views while we checked out what being sold at this market.
