We've previously rated this place a strong 5 stars. Our latest visits post menu change have been lackluster. They've removed their popular skillet enchiladas and all the items with their previously delicious mole. Our server told us "management heard and is bringing some favorites back". The menu is quite reduced. Unclear if it's a different chef, but our recent meals have not been anywhere near the prior standard. The chips and trio were still solid, but the entrees were not. The enchiladas were lost under the salad, oddly dry, and just "meh", though were previously great. The surf and turf burrito was both very salty and oddly dry -- like someone forgot to put sauce in it. It needed some kind of sauce, salsa, or crema. We'll hope it gets back to prior 5 star standards and re-rate it today with a hopeful 3.

I used to go here all the time when I lived in Rochester, so it was a must when I went for a visit. It hasn't changed a bit, still so delicious. The service was great, a bit slow but it's a tiny and busy spot... get some chips and a marg while you wait The restaurant is cozy and decorated super fun. And as always the margaritas and shrimp tacos were great, I haven't been able to find shrimp tacos like these anywhere else!

Unfortunately, the food here was mediocre at best. I ordered a chicken enchilada that accidentally had no chicken in it. Somehow the tortilla was half burned and filled with cold cheese. I have no clue how they managed to do that. It came with a side "salad"? that had no dressing or anything other than lettuce. The waitress was friendly and had them make another enchilada to go. You can find better "Mexican" food at chipotle.

The chipotle fish sandwich is one of my favorite dishes of all time! So flavorful and the fish is perfectly cooked. The salad with dressing is also so light and a perfect pairing. The Plato grande is also an excellent dish- such good balance and appropriate portions for each of its components. The chips on top give a nice crunch and overall so good! Service is always incredible and the staff are so kind and attentive. Cant wait to be back!

Overall very good. Loved the vibe and great service. Best time to go is 70 degrees and at night. Some notes are that the Aqua Fresca was pretty sour. And the Plato grande is very similar to the chips and queso. So we would avoid getting both Chorizo Queso 8/10 Aqua Fresca 5/10 Lemonade 9/10 El plato grande (beef) 7.8/10 Spicy Shrimp Fajitas 9/10

Ate outside on a beautiful day. Gotta love Park Ave! Stopped by for lunch. Service was excellent. Margaritas were very good. Queso was top shelf. Could've made a meal if the cheese sauce! Chimi was very tasty. Hard to get a chimi that is crispy for some reason. This was crispy on the outside and melty in the inside. The bride's burrito was huge, stuffed with goodness and delish!

I have a pretty high standard for Mexican food thanks to my hometown, and this is some solidly good Mexican food. The chimichanga was a bit more fried than I'm used to, but it was good. I really enjoyed the shrimp tacos-- you could tell the ingredients were good quality. The aguas frescas were also delicious and very refreshing. As a Park Ave staple, this is a nice spot to stop on a summer night. -@cophiescrumbs on insta

Very small upscale Mexican restaurant. The menu isn't expansive, but everything we ordered was delicious. I highly recommend the beans for a side and the tropical fruit margarita. Our server was beyond helpful as he was very attentive, and got whatever we needed and then some. When we asked for a glass for a beer, the bartender chilled it for us without us asking which was so nice. Dorados isn't trying to be an authentic Mexican food restaurant, rather a restaurant that has its own twist on a traditional Mexican dish. If you're in the park avenue area, definitely try it out!

I love dorado for the vibes. Especially sitting outside on park ave. The service is always excellent. The margaritas are yummy- come during happy hour for margs! The queso with chorizo is a fan fav and I really like their chips. I would probably recommend coming here for margs and apps, their dinners are good but I'm not necessarily raving about it. Overall I'm a big fan!

Amazing place! Closes at 10 on Sundays, not 9 like it says online. Can't wait to come back!

Great place for rich Mexican food and delicious margaritas. The mole was quite good too. We sat outdoors.

    Is this restaurant vegan-friendly?

Yes. My go-to vegan option is the burrito bowl with tofu and no cheese. Definitely better when eaten in house as with take-out the beans / rice / tofu can get cold.

We went to Locals Only for brunch/lunch after a wedding, meeting friends one last time before…read moreeveryone headed back to our own cities. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst restaurant experiences. We spent 2.5 hours total at the restaurant. After waiting an excessive amount of time, we watched two tables that arrived at least an hour after us receive their food first. When we politely asked if our ticket might have been missed, we were told those tables ordered before us, which simply wasn't true. We were then told the delay was because burgers take a long time but a nearly two-hour wait for a burger is pretty wild. It took about 25 minutes just for someone to take our drink order, and we were never asked if we wanted additional drinks. We had to flag staff down for everything. No ketchup, no hot sauce, nothing offered. The $30 mimosa flight served in tiny glasses also felt like a complete scam. When the food finally came, two people in our party were served 15-20 minutes before the other two, and the food was cold. One dish had completely raw eggs. When I let the server know I couldn't eat it, she came back and removed the meal from the bill, which was appreciated. However, the interaction itself felt tense and dismissive, which made an already frustrating experience worse. They did give us a round of breakfast shots to try to help pass the time which was appreciated. The food itself was disappointing overall. The breakfast burrito was basically all eggs with raw, bitter avocado, and my husband's burger was missing requested toppings. We also noticed food sitting in the service window while we continued waiting. The only person who was happy with their meal got the biggie fries an it was hot when it arrived. To make matters worse, the bathroom was unheated on an 18° day (feels like 2°) and not clean. We're a pretty chill, patient group and understand that kitchens get backed up but man, this experience completely missed the mark. Ironically, the cooks thanked us for our patience and servers said goodbye pleasantly on the way out. We honestly may have let a lot of this go if the service hadn't felt so dismissive when we calmly raised concerns.
