Came here for happy hour on Friday. We dat inside at the tiny bar. Quite entertaining because you can see in the kitchen and hear everyone at service bar We were greeted in a friendly fashion. Girl bartender was in training but they were doing a good job with how many tables were being sat. They also did a good job the busier that they got to warn people of how long food was going to take with how tiny the kitchen is. Our chorizo queso prob took 12-15 min. Not bad. $8 margarita $2off tequila shots $2 off beers for happy hour. I've had the chicken enchiladas here before too and they were really good. I love that there's indoor outdoor seating that actually gets the sunshine. Only one bathroom downstairs. I enjoy this place and will def be back read more

We've previously rated this place a strong 5 stars. Our latest visits post menu change have been lackluster. They've removed their popular skillet enchiladas and all the items with their previously delicious mole. Our server told us "management heard and is bringing some favorites back". The menu is quite reduced. Unclear if it's a different chef, but our recent meals have not been anywhere near the prior standard. The chips and trio were still solid, but the entrees were not. The enchiladas were lost under the salad, oddly dry, and just "meh", though were previously great. The surf and turf burrito was both very salty and oddly dry -- like someone forgot to put sauce in it. It needed some kind of sauce, salsa, or crema. We'll hope it gets back to prior 5 star standards and re-rate it today with a hopeful 3. read more

I ordered the chicken enchilada which was very salty and simply not enjoyable. The rice & beans were served cold, I told the server & her response was "Oh I'm sorry about that"! I used to go here all the time when I lived in Rochester, so it was a must when I went for a visit. It hasn't changed a bit, still so delicious. The service was great, a bit slow but it's a tiny and busy spot... get some chips and a marg while you wait The restaurant is cozy and decorated super fun. The margaritas are great. Trio plater to start is always a good option. You'll get two salsas and guacamole. I ordered the verde chicken enchiladas which came with rice and beans. Overall it was good but wish they had more verde sauce on them. They lose a start just because the seating is very cramped on the inside. But in the summertime it's definitely a great spot to sit outside and enjoy some good food and drinks. read more

Unfortunately, the food here was mediocre at best. I ordered a chicken enchilada that accidentally had no chicken in it. Somehow the tortilla was half burned and filled with cold cheese. I have no clue how they managed to do that. It came with a side "salad"? that had no dressing or anything other than lettuce. The waitress was friendly and had them make another enchilada to go. I have a pretty high standard for Mexican food thanks to my hometown, and this is some solidly good Mexican food. The chimichanga was a bit more fried than I'm used to, but it was good. I really enjoyed the shrimp tacos-- you could tell the ingredients were good quality. The aguas frescas were also delicious and very refreshing. The chipotle fish sandwich is one of my favorite dishes of all time! So flavorful and the fish is perfectly cooked. The salad with dressing is also so light and a perfect pairing. Servers are all great and the place is nice and clean. But this is the most mediocre and overpriced food I've had in a while. 18$ for two tiny carne asada tacos that were unremarkable. Very small upscale Mexican restaurant. The menu isn't expansive, but everything we ordered was delicious. I highly recommend the beans for a side and the tropical fruit margarita. Our server was beyond helpful as he was very attentive, and got whatever we needed and then some. When we asked for a glass for a beer, the bartender chilled it for us without us asking which was so nice. Dorados isn't trying to be an authentic Mexican food restaurant, rather a restaurant that has its own twist on a traditional Mexican dish. Very disappointed! We used to love this place but haven't been in a few years. The chimichanga was good. But the mahi mahi tasted like it had been sitting out for days. Great little place for simple food and drinks. Tiny place with seating for maybe 20 - 25 using small tables and booths. Limited seating at the bar. Very tiny bathroom. The food was good and it seemed fresh. We ordered various quesadillas and tacos. I had the Carne Asada tacos, which were good, but I wish they had a bit more filling in the tacos. The chip appetizer with 3 dips was okay. Salsa and guacamole were good, but the chips were cold (I like them a touch warmed), and the one sauce was just a tomato sauce, nothing more. The server was friendly, and the mixed drinks were good, especially the Margueritas. Just know the space can get very crowded quickly and loud. Parking is street parking on the main road or one of the closer side streets. Overall, it was a good experience with good food and friendly service. read more

Small little stop on park ave with some bomb mexican and margaritas. Happy Hour is 3-6 mon-friday with 7$ margaritas and they are very tasty. Food was also awesome such good flavor and lots of good options. They have a special daily as well. Queso is perfect could have a bit more spice but nice and cheesy and they give you a ton of it. Service is great but def dont come when they are busy only like 15 eats and some outdoors if its nice. Always a go to spot. read more

I don't know how I feel about this place. I like that it's convenient since it's close to me, but it just doesn't stick out. I've been here a couple of times and I have never left fully satisfied. I think I honestly go when it's the last option unfortunately. I like their $6 margaritas for happy hour, but the food it's just okay. For a Friday night they should have been expecting some type of crowd, the young lady who served barely said a word to us, could barely give a suggestion or a glimpse of happiness when discussing the menu. First visit. Seated right away which was great. Server was friendly and pretty attentive, looked like he had a lot to do. Started with Chorizo con Queso, and to say it was very salty would be an understatement. Chips were quite good but the queso was inedible. Kids got quesadillas which they liked, and they were cool the way they extended the cheese beyond the tortilla to make a little "crown". I got El Plato Grande. Guac was excellent. Beans, rice, salsa v. good. The beef was overcooked and after they melted the cheese into it the result was like a rubbery slab. I've only been here for drinks. I'd like to try the food sometime, so I'll update my review when I get the chance. I wanted to leave a review for the drinks though because they were absolutely fantastic! I had the coconut margarita first, and because it was so good, I also had the pina colada. It was just as good, if not better! You can really taste the coconut cream, and they were probably the best coconut drinks that I've had locally. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to come back here again and drink them all night! It was really busy inside and the bar was full, so we sat outside. It did take awhile for our drinks to come, but they were well worth it. And when we cashed out, we needed to split the check on two cards, and they did it without issue. My new favorite restaurant in Rochester! This place is beyond delicious, delicious, delicious, I can't say it enough! The Latin Fusion Bistro & Cantina features many things on the menu some of the more popular items are their enchiladas, burritos and tacos. I ordered the cuban sandwhich, it was one of the best Cubans I have had with pulled pork, monterey jack cheese both gooey and crisp, quacamole, cilantro aioli and pickles. My sister got the burrito bowl with with meat, greens, rice, beans, salsa and monterey jack cheese and it was "bomb." My mom got the quesadilla and when it came out it looked so delicious with crisp cheese oozing from the rim I had to try it! It was by far the most tasty and amazing quesadilla I have EVER had. It had black beans, peppers, onions and cheese in a flour tortilla with whatever meat you desire. The venue is pretty small but they also have outside seating for additional space. Although I didn't get any drinks while I was there the bar was extremely cool looking and the drink menu was extensive. Dorado was fantastic, when it first opened. We dined there almost every week in the Summer months. A few years ago, the recipes / preparation methods for the Tacos changed. Instead of distinctly independent, stand alone on their own ingredients being placed in the taco shell - Dorado began cooking some of the ingredients together and introduced an awful "mush" of caramelized onions and who knows what else that ruined the pure, distinct, and interesting flavors of ingredients of the Tacos we had grown so use to dine on. After a few more visits, we wrote them off. Initially Old Pueblo and later Tavos Antojitos y Tequila has taken their place for our Mexican Dining. Things may have gotten better in recent history, but I have no intention of going back. The margaritas were great, but we need a nice meal as well. read more

Dorado is a great spot for happy hour and outdoor dining! In my past visits, I've ordered the burrito bowl, margaritas, quesadillas, walking tacos, and regular tacos - all of which have been really great. They have a good happy hour with drink specials, and the bartenders are generally friendly and happy to chat - though the space is small and they tend to be pretty busy. The quesadilla is an absolute go-to. They've mastered the art of crispy cheese and their homemade hot sauce makes for the perfect meal addition. Sitting outside and people watching is a great way to spend an afternoon, though I will agree with other reviews that the outdoor seating gets a *little* cutthroat starting at ~5:15 on any nice weekday and just about anytime on a nice weekend. I haven't gone back as often as I would like to since moving out of the Park Ave neighborhood, but I always look forward to indulging in some of the cheesy goodness that Dorado is known for. read more

I'd been passing Dorado for almost two years before eventually stopping in. I recently went for happy hour and left with mixed feelings. It was a Tuesday afternoon and there was no crowd, which was nice because my friend and I were seated right away. We ordered chips with salsa and queso (they were out of guacamole). It was solid and the queso was a little different than a traditional one, which I enjoyed. We ordered two rounds of margaritas, which were really good and not too sugary. I couldn't quite figure out what was going on with our server, though. It felt like he was trying to push us out once he knew we were just doing apps and drinks. He tried to bring us the check twice without asking if there was anything else we wanted. The first time we stopped him and asked for another round of drinks, then took the check by the second time. There were only two other tables at the whole restaurant and the one table left shortly after we sat down. I understand we weren't a high-ticket table ordering entrees, but we weren't holding up the table from others being seated by any means. I also used the restroom before we left and it was infested with flies. It's a small one person bathroom and flies were swarming everywhere. I have to admit, that made me wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen because it's right next to the bathroom. Overall, the apps/drinks were good but the service was weird. The flies were also unsettling, so I'm not sure I'd go back for food. I would only probably only consider returning for a round of drinks. read more
