Finally got around to trying takeout from this relatively recent addition on Washington St in Wilmington and had a good experience overall. We were able to order online for takeout that was ready within 5 min of the stated time, though they initially handed us the wrong order (luckily, after a few similar mishaps at various restaurants during the pandemic, we didn't make it out of the parking lot before we realized). We ordered the Nutty Goat salad as an appetizer, which was fairly large and packed with mixed nuts and goat cheese. The blood orange vinaigrette was tasty as well. My Salmon BLT was delicious --- standard BLT with added roasted salmon. I opted for their sweet potato waffle fries on the side, which were also good, though I wish they came with a dipping sauce. BF ordered the turkey burger, which sounded good on paper, but he was disappointed with the rubbery texture of the burger itself. The accompanying fries were solid though. We finished the meal with the Limoncello cake, a light, fluffy cake that was a good balance of sweet and tart lemon; the piece was large enough for us each to have a few bites (but was a little small for the price). We didn't get drinks this time, but appreciated that their taps feature some local breweries --- love to see the local love! I do look forward to going back, but my one comment is that their menu is very limited in terms of vegetarian options (and I'm not even sure they have anything vegan other than maybe the soups) --- the only vegetarian entree is the option to order meatless Chicken Alfredo. I hope they add more plant-forward, healthy options in the future. read more

The location threw me off but I'm glad we finally made it in. service was a little hyper was I'll never fault a server for being too friendly. Food was exceptionally good. Meatloaf was amazing abs we've been telling everyone about it. The soup trio was the cutest thing I've seen in my life. Didn't love our seats. We were seated at the half wall next to host stand, it tends to get used as a catch all for things so that was a little annoying. We'll be back though. Amazing Restaurant! Went here on a whim for Valentines Day weekend dinner date night and was not disappointed. The restaurant is relaxed and cozy and the bar is inviting. The food and drinks were fantastic, the wait staff and owner were wonderful and as an added bonus we were seated next to Sentor Carper! I do understand what Covid has done and I'm doing my best to not totally rake places over the coals.. So..Cool place, love the "theme". You can sense the passion from the owner who was clearly pumped to open his dream bar. Well..Ok. This place resides on happy hour avenue. Value value value, or I'll go to the next place offering a better Happy Hour. It's the reality. Meaning, draw the HH crowd in and do it well, and kiss the rest of the week goodbye, due to your uptown location and the "zero desire anyone has to be there post 7pm" address..sorry, that's just the way Wilmington is. The prices to quality ratio is way off. I think almost every beer was $6/$7+? Craft, I think?..Relatable? No. The ONLY customers here on a Thursday during happy hour were at the tiny bar and they had sodas. Here's some advice, cater to the working people and work to get the table seats filled as well. The poor bartender was great but i doubt she made any cash. After our super extra burnt/fried/rubber calamari and over priced drinks, we left in less than an hour...In search for a down to earth, let's do this the right way, place. I suppose I was a little early for dinner service but the wait staff seemed totally checked out. Sat around for 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged my existence. Finally got a beer ordered and waited another 20 minutes to order. The place had maybe 10 people in it. The food was pretty good. I didn't have high hopes for the meatloaf but it was good. Mashed potatoes weren't seasoned at all but that's fine. Some people complain about salt, and I'm happy to add my own. Restaurant and bathrooms were clean. We ate at Dorcea this past Saturday. We had a large party of about 40. From the minute we requested such a large reservation, Tony and his staff worked with us to make sure everything was perfect. Delia was an absolute delight and made the evening a success. Everything in the menu was amazing. The crab cakes were unbelievable. I couldn't stop eating them. We also shared shrimp and grits. A classic that was delicious. The calamari was perfect amount of spicy that left you wanting more. Dorcea is a real gem. This was our first time eating at this restaurant and my fiancé and I really enjoyed it. We are spending Valentine's Day weekend in Wilmington and wanted a bite to eat after arriving. It's our first night out after the visit at the Longwood Garden, we're looking for a good restaurant with a walking distance from our hotel and this restaurant is high on the recommended list. It 's very nice, small but cozy place. We call to reserve and got a private dinning room for a group of eight. The foods and services are great. They do have a good wine menu as well. We had wines and draft beers and followed with very good Thai Chicken Wings and Crab Bisque soups for appetizer; for main courses, we had Korean Salmons, Dorcea hamburgers, Buffalo chicken wrap, veal, salad. I called ahead to make a reservation and was told that it was not necessary that evening but when I arrived a few minutes later with my friends the receptionist asked if we had one and then reluctantly sat us at the tall table and said we needed to be done by eight however, the server was delightful l made the rest of the dinner pleasant. This place is in an unassuming spot free off street parking (after 5p). Inside the decor is warm and inviting and service at the bar was excellent. I started with a Paloma which was delicious and potent. :) Perfect summer cocktail. They also have a solid draft list, if beer is your thing. Loved the fried calamari - which had a great flavor to it. Spicy AND tangy. Hot and honey wings were pretty good. Crispy with a good flavor but could be "saucier". The Jamaican Carrot soup was uh-maz-ing. I don't even like carrot soup but trust me... this is not to be missed. Jambalaya was quite good - but would have liked a bit more heat. I've been here twice in a week if that says anything. I sat inside once and got takeout. First meal was shrimp and grits. Lots of shrimp and creamy flavor. I want to highlight their extensive wine list too. Pretty long for what looks like a sweet neighborhood, after work spot for the hospital. Sunday the bar was entertaining with the Eagles and NFL up on a few screens. My takeout was the calamari appetizer and the meatloaf. The calamari had this spicy chili sauce plus the pepper rings... great powerful spice with a light fry. Spot on. My meatloaf came with four slices of meatloaf! Glazed with a nice sweet bbq style sauce. A last note to management. Your staff was spot on all night. Both were attentive but not overbearing. read more

Have been longing to try this new place. The interior and decor are almost the same as the previous Domain Hudson. It was a Friday at 5pm, we were the first table except the people at the bar area, but the waitress seems busy. I love the soups, but a bit on the salty side for me. My husband love the Thai chili wings, and my two little girls love the wings too despite the fact that their mouths were on fire I like the appetizers more than entrees, but everything is too sweet for me, especially the Korean salmon and meatloaf. read more

Moved to Delaware from Philly a couple years ago, and Dorcea is my favorite restaurant I've found in Wilmington. To me, they're the perfect balance of upscale quality food, but with a brew-pub ambience and pricing. Generous portions, great beer selection (I'm a shameless hazy hop-snob, they get really good stuff) - and the staff is always friendly. Everything I've tried has been great - but special shout out for their Buffalo Chicken Wrap - it has its own unique flair and is one of the best I've had anywhere. Haven't watched any sports here yet, but they have multiple big TVs with good viewing angles. I love you Dorcea. read more

Had another great meal at Dorcea. Took some friends for Restaurant Week; it was their first visit and they are already planning a return visit. You get a warm cozy feel when you walk into this joint and the ownership and service match the ambiance. The drinks are creative and delicious and the food was fantastic. This is the perfect spot to enjoy an intimate time with friends and loved ones. Kim and Tyler are welcoming and personable bartenders. I literally shed a tear while eating their spicy calamari...it was the best I ever had in Delaware. Be prepared! It is very spicy. And very perfect.
