This place is a gem, nothing better than playing Hockey in the great outdoors. The rink was cozy and the scenery around this rink was just as beautiful. If you don't like the call, they had a nice viewing section upstairs. They also had a wood burning fireplace downstairs. Despite losing with our short roster team, we had a blast and every kid enjoy the experience.

Small tourneys, learn-to-skate, public ice, etc. Friendly local Westchester Ice Club. Relatively warm, too. Locker rooms, bathrooms on the older side, but a lot of folks with fond memories of skating and learning how to skate here. They also hold a lot of summer clinics - see posters in the lobby and around the rink.

The staff - headed up by director Haley Ruotolo - is exceptional, and have taught my son how to skate. Haley is responsive, lovely, flexible and accommodating. And the "Learn to Skate" program takes absolute beginners - even the most fearful - and teaches them to skate. And have fun doing it! Class size is kept to a very reasonable limit, and the staff to child ratio is fantastic. We also participated in the vacation "mini-camps", which were a great way to stay active over school breaks, and were a really good value too. Can't recommend this place enough!

New apartment buildings are going up all over downtown further contributing to congestion. Many of these buildings are unsafe as builders rush and cut corners to accommodate section 8 subsidized housing units required by the City. The public schools are failing as their are controlled by a BOE that is politically motivated by Democrats to dumb down the curriculum so that "everyone" passes. As a result, standardized test scores have seen a steep decline in the past 10 years according to data made available by the NYT, compared to similar districts in the state. I know that people from out of state may be curious about a move to Stamford. I encourage them to explore other towns and cities in CT. It's just not what the Mayor chalks it up to be. The taxes are high, the political system is sketchy and traffic is horrendous.

10/2/2020 - During covid... multiple person (siblings) families viewing hockey games. No spectators…read moreallowed in rink so the bar area is filled with people clustered together. Not fun. Can't even get a beer. Outside people are clustered at the door, tailgaiting in parking lot which is too small and cramped with various SUVs. Can't wait till this game is over.
