Sparkling wine on happy hour at the bar
    Sheena T.

I am so thrilled I stumbled into Dorothy's Wine Bar while in San Diego! I'll admit that I only stopped in this complex because I needed to use the restroom, but the interior was so cute and they had great happy hour prices so I decided to stay to enjoy a glass of wine (ok two) and a little snack. They offer some seating indoors, but I opted for a spot on the patio to enjoy the sunny afternoon. The happy hour wine selection was excellent and I started with a red blend that was great, then shifted to a sparkling. The bartender was wonderful and gave me a sample to try before I ordered. I had dinner plans so don't want to eat too much, but the warm tajín olives were delicious and something I need to recreate at home. I had the most beautiful afternoon here and will come back on my next visit to San Diego!

We spent another wonderful Saturday afternoon at Dorothy's Wine Bar in The Headquarters at Seaport Village, and it always exceeds all expectations. The atmosphere is always relaxed, welcoming, and the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy an afternoon. The wine selection was excellent, and the staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We learned they also have a good selection of mocktails, beer and small bites. One of the highlights of the afternoon was the live music. The musician created a fantastic ambiance that complemented the setting perfectly--engaging and entertaining without overwhelming the conversation. It added a special energy that made the experience feel memorable and unique. What made our visit even more enjoyable was meeting new friends and some visitors from out of town. Dorothy's has a warm, social atmosphere that naturally brings people together. We found ourselves sharing conversations and stories with fellow guests, turning a simple afternoon outing into a truly memorable experience. Great wine, wonderful music, and new friendships made for an unforgettable afternoon. Dorothy's Wine Bar is a special place, and we can't wait to return. Highly recommended!

Super cute wine bar witin sea port village! It's a bit hidden but I like that as it's more quaint. It has a small inside and then a big patio with couch seating and high tops. We came for happy hour on a Friday and it was very empty but I'm sure it gets busier later. They have wine and then also some cocktails! I like the vibe and the decor and the service was nice. They have very small lite bites.

Went for a pre-dinner drink. We were greeted warmly, and the bartender shared it was happy hour. I really appreciated that, as it seems like some places try to hide their happy hour. I had one of their whites and one of the reds. Both were really good. We also had the bread as a little snack. They have a cute little inside, and a nice patio space. They have a great wine selection that changes, so you can always try something new. They do a nice job finding wines from different regions throughout the world. And if you have someone in your group who isn't a wine person, there are some beer options too. While it is in a touristy area of SD, don't let that scare you away. Dorothy's has a unique personality with friendly staff and a thoughtful menu. I look forward to going back and trying more food and wine soon!

Make your Happy Hour plans here! Quaint Wine Bar located in the Headquarters is a nice place to unwind with a glass of wine or cocktail. Fun atmosphere with an eclectic vibe. The outdoor patio is great for soaking up the sun or hanging with your four legged friend! The Syrah was a nice wine. We didn't ask if they had food but we think there is some Charcuterie. Next time.

Cutest little wine bar tucked away in a cozy little corner. Inside feels like a charming little living room full of knick knacks and interesting details thoughtfully designed to transform you into a welcoming space. The server was very nice and offered us a happy hour menu from which we ordered two glasses of wine, pretzel bites and warmed olives. All were delicious! We'll definitely be back when we're in the area.

Stopped in on an unseasonably warm spring day to be welcomed into this fabulous space by the owner, Luis. He was charming, friendly, and cared that we got our wine selection right. We enjoyed our time so much we brought friends back the next day!

Cute little neighborhoody wine bar. Lotta cool art and great wine choices served by the knowledgeable staff. thanks for the fun night!

I discovered this place from Eventbright. They hosted a flamenco group, who were so fun to watch. They were severely understaffed for the event. It looked like maybe 3 people were working with a crowd over 50 people. Luis is so pleasant though, and the show was captivating. It was easier to overlook the long wait time for service. Aside from that, this is a cute place to enjoy a glass of wine with small bites. The interior is small, but they have a patio that faces the center of the plaza. It was especially pretty at night with the outdoor lighting and heaters to keep you warm. Definitely worth checking out!

Great place in the Headquarters for wine and outside patio. The new owners are delightful. The service is amazing. They have entertainment on Sunday afternoons. Happy Hour is reasonable and they have light bites to order. Definitely recommend.

This wine bar has quickly become one of my favorite spots in town. The ambiance is warm, stylish, and inviting--perfect for unwinding after work or catching up with friends. Their wine selection is seriously impressive, with a wide variety from all over the world. Whether you're into bold reds, crisp whites, or something a little off the beaten path, you'll find something to love. Their happy hour is a hidden gem--great deals on select wines that make it even more tempting to stop in. One of the best parts? If you fall in love with a bottle, you can easily take it home with you. Super convenient and always a hit when I bring one to dinner parties. Knowledgeable staff, great vibes, and a top-tier wine selection--this place is a must-visit!. Luis is aamazing!

Awesome new spot you have to try out! The owner was so nice and there are lots of options to choose from - glasses, bottles, flights, and some light bites. They have happy hour from 3-6 and tables both inside and out (with heaters and blankets). Super cute for catching up with a friend or date night!

I keep coming back for their happy hour Chard and stellar service. I love it here!

I made a reservation (just in case) because on a weekend you never know. Luckily, though, we arrived and there was plenty of available seating. My husband and I had our 10 and 5 year old with us and they easily accommodated us. It's a straightforward, but lovely menu that has a little bit for everyone. We enjoyed sharing a few plates and fresh oysters on the half shell. They do not have a kids menu, which was alright with us. Our daughter, who loves a good steak at 5 years old, enjoyed their pub steak and fries and shared a Mexican Coke with her brother. For my husband and I, we enjoyed sharing their beef tartare and to finish it off, a banana split. What we found so whimsical about Finca is their presentation. My husband and I really enjoyed exploring their menu and leaving room for a return visit soon. I couldn't recommend Finca more for anyone looking for a fun and casual dining experience with a lovely staff and unique take on traditional favorites.

The place is very small and even being there early, all the inside seats were already taken. We sat on the patio, which on a nice day would have been fine, but it was a cold and windy evening. We asked if they could turn on the heat lamps, but they said they were out of propane. It took probably 15 minutes for anyone to greet us after that. We were told we would get to try 4 or 5 champagnes. And while they were trying their best, it just took such a long time between pours, and we didn't end up trying all of them, as they ran out of at least one. They did compensate by pouring more of the others, but they just didn't seem ready for the group that was there. We ended up shoving our way to stand inside, as it was not pleasant outside. It was a really cute place, and they all seemed very nice, but if they are going to have events, they need to be much more organized and probably limited to a smaller number of people unless they can put more tables out in the lobby area. I had been excited to check it out, but left feeling that we didn't have a good experience.

So I turned around and stopped in. What I found was a quaint, tucked-away, almost inconspicuous spot delivering food and hospitality at a level that honestly borders on absurd for how unassuming it appears from the outside. The service was warm, polished, and intuitive without ever feeling pretentious. Hats off to both chefs, Christi and Mark for making me feel welcome. The wine pairings? Thoughtful, balanced, and exactly what you hope for from a restaurant that actually respects food. And then there's the burger. This thing reads like poetry: Ribeye and NY strip trim blend, cooked like a proper steak (medium rare, the only correct answer here), melted gouda, a soft house potato roll, all resting in a luxurious bordelaise sauce that would make a French chef nod in approval. Seriously. This is not a "burger joint burger." This is a chef-driven, butcher-minded expression of beef. Every bite tastes intentional. The bordelaise underneath ties the entire thing together with this deep, glossy richness that elevates it from comfort food into something bordering on fine dining. Places like this are why I still love discovering restaurants organically. No hype machine. No gimmicks. Just confidence, technique, restraint, and execution. This very unassuming little spot has Michelin written all over it.
