The owner is a charming woman, who is sweet, funny, and a hard worker. She really worked with me today to find the perfect gift. She is the sole owner and salesperson, so she has cut back hours. Check the website before you go. I went on a Wednesday and I know she is open from 12-4. I wish I would have taken pictures. But, I was so intent on picking out the gift, I forgot. So, I am including a picture of a gift I got from Israeli Accents, that I love. It is a small business and woman owned. If you are looking for a gift that is Israeli or for a friend that celebrates Jewish culture, I recommend you give them a try. They will become one of your favorite spots.

It took work and patience to help me choose which stones to use, stay within my budget, and make the most of what I already had. The whole process, including communication and additional approvals with the designer in Hong Kong, was seamless and professional. I'll admit I worried I'd asked for the impossible (as my stones were close but not a perfect match to those in the inspiration design), but the finished ring is even more beautiful than the photo I showed them. It's honestly the prettiest piece I've ever owned, and so special because it was custom made. Eva and her brother are knowledgeable, honest, and incredibly skilled. I've never designed jewelry for myself before, nor do I ever really treat myself to something like this, but I'm so glad I did. Four Seasons made the entire experience unforgettable!

We really enjoyed speaking with Caro and learning about the importance of supporting women artists. This shop rotates artists every 6 months, so you will always be able to see new women artists. You don't see a lot of those around. The store is much bigger than it looks from the outside. The front section is long and narrow, containing womens clothing, scarves, handbags, dining ware, and some jewelry. There was a beautiful handmade, wooden chopsticks box that I thought about buying just so I didn't have to store my chopsticks like they do in many Pho restaurants - sticking out of a can. The back opens up to 1 moderate size room and 1 large room zen-ly designed with wooden furniture and decorative pieces from Thailand. The hall way leading to the large back room was where I found what I've been looking for for a long time though. Fisherman's pants!!! I always wear them when I get Thai massages and they're so comfortable that I have wanted a pair to wear around the house. Thai Crossing had a perfect pair for me. The pants were red and lightweight, actually made out of a blend of silk and cotton so not as rough as the regular fisherman's pants. They were $28, which is as much as you would probably pay at one of the mall stores for lounge wear anyway - however, unlike buying clothes at some ole department store, part of the profits at Thai Crossing go to help orphans and the infirm in Thailand (in fact, a lot of their unique items were made by the infirm, who otherwise wouldn't be able to find work - a store looking to support a good cause as well as make a profit? hot damn!). At the time I was there they didn't have men's fisherman's pants, but the nice young Thai guy manning the store told me they will be getting some in the fall. I will be going back! If you're in the area, you should definitely give this store a look-see.

In fact, when I first walked in my initial of the boutique lead me to believe this was a place that my mother and grandmother might like. To my surprise, there were a number of areas of the store where you could find discounted items ranging from 30-50% off, making many of the jewelry items extremely affordable. If you are an impulse buyer, just make note of the return policy. Although I was sure I would not be returning my purchased items, I remember that it was very specific so just double check before you fork over that cash.

I did my wedding invitations through Write for You. They were beyond unprofessional throughout the entire experience. While I had issues with the company for our 6-month interaction, here are the three most egregious interactions: 1. For an 8-week period of time a few months before my wedding, I was unable to get ahold of anyone at the shop. I emailed and called many times. I only heard back after leaving a final message asking if the business was still open and if I'd need to find another vendor. 2. Two months out from my wedding, I received notification that my invitations had arrived. On the same day, I received an invoice that included a $300 charge above my quote. This wasn't the first out-of-the-blue charge that had occurred in my interactions with Write for You. The owner told me this charge was for "ribbons and labor" and thus would not remove it. I was not previously notified of this charge and said I would only pay for what I was quoted. We went back and forth and the interaction eventually ended with: the owner yelling over the phone, the owner telling me she couldn't believe I was arguing over $300 because it's only $300, and the owner threatening to withhold the invitations. She also notified me that both she and her husband were lawyers. I ended up paying the extra amount because I needed the invitations (a fact she certainly knew). 3. Finally, after all of that, there was a typo on the invitations. Not only did Write for You refuse to reprint the invitations or refund me for any of the cost, but I couldn't even get someone to respond to my emails and calls. Presumably because I'd already paid. I don't think I can convey in a review what a terrible and exasperating experience this was the entire time. But I hope to convey to anyone thinking of using Write for You - avoid, avoid, avoid!
