We have not been to Dos in years. Came out for our Taco Tuesday and were not disappointed. The staff is friendly and work well together. Attentive service. Our beverage is ice tea. Dos serves Up tasty fresh ice tea. Complimentary chips and salsa were delish. The chips had a hint of lime. We enjoyed the three taco platter with rice and beans. Our choice was two hard shell chicken and one shredded beef taco. The shells are so thin, crispy and tasty with a nice crunch. You can really taste the quality ingredients he chicken was delicious and good quality. Our second entree to share were the steak, chorizo, cilantro and onion Mexican street tacos. The menu is expansive. We can't wait to try other items. The restaurant is clean. Even decorations are clean not old or dusty. A suggestion If the carpet was removed and the cement floor sealed it would tie the decor together and give the restaurant an updated look. read more

Very disappointed... This has been our go to Mexican restaurant for awhile now, but our last two visits have made us decide to try new places. We asked if they were under new management and we were told they are not. The salsa had very little flavor, and tasted like it came out of a jar. The chips were very bland as well. We have tried this place on and off a few times. It is basically average, very average food. The place is small, and usually filled with beer drinking locals who are loud so it's not the best place to bring your kids. As far as mexican food goes, its below average as we have some damn good mexican food in SE Wisconsin. It is however the best mexican you can get in East Troy WI - as it is the only mexican food in East Troy WI. If your goal is to go get drunk on cheap margaritas/beer while having mediocre food with 20 somethings this is your spot! read more

After one person in our group requested to speak to the manager after his food was unacceptable, the manager would not come over until I specifically asked if he was the manager after he stuck his head out of the kitchen door. He then began to with the person that the food was acceptable and he should have read the menu better. While this is going on, I witness the other waitress handle the garbage can and then go directly back to handling food items. The margaritas were terrible. All of the food was too spicy. They ran out of chips. Apparently under new ownership means that this place has significantly gone down hill. We have decided on a new name for this establishment "Gross Amoebas"! read more

We sampled about everything they had...tostadas, chimichangas, burritos, etc...They all tasted the same; like slop. It's pretty simple - if You are looking for "Americanized, Mexican-STYLE" food there are a TON of better places within a 20min drive of here. In fact, within 10 minutes in either direction there are several incredible, AUTHENTIC Mex Joints that I would easily recommend hands down over Dos Amigos. Stopped by today for lunch, Immediately noticed a buildup of dead flies in the windowsills but figured "what the heck" after seeing that the rest of the place looked pretty clean - bad call. Ordered a Mexican Coke, they were out. After a round of average chips and blatantly jarred (or possibly even canned) salsa, I ordered the Sopes - out too. After settling on the Enchilada Special I was dismayed to find what amounted to pot roast wrapped in over-steamed (and re-microwaved) commercial tortillas smothered in what tasted and texturally resembled Kraft "Pizza-Blend" shredded cheese (and drizzled in a sauce that suspiciously resembled the "salsa" we were served prior to the meal) ... VERY disappointed. Bland, ill-prepared - even the rice was blatantly an institutional Mex product, no tomoatoes, peas, etc and a texture that told me the rice had never seen hot oil prior to preparation (if You know Mex You know what I mean) ... $22 for 2 lunch plates and a pair of Jarritos - yes it was fast (about 50min front to back for our visit) but that really is about all I can say positive other than the decor has that typical Mex "vibe" ... Never again. "OUT" of sopes? That just tells me they're using the premade and happen to have NOT had time to run to the Mercado, I'm almost GLAD I didn't get them. What happened to my favorite place ? Went in about 7:30/8 on a Saturday night. A nice smiling teen boy brought bad stale old gross chips. But despite asking - we never got a menu or a waitress ? Place mostly empty and 2 waitresses chatting endlessly at counter. Asked one to come by. "In a minute" while she kept chatting and 20 min later my friend insisted we leave. Add in that everything was sticky and dirty - even bathroom. I hope the owners or managers come back and clean up the place and the service and the chips !! I've been bringing people here for years - telling everyone how great it is but this was just embarrassing. It was not bad but with a bottle of beer and tip it was $20. East Troy has many better dining options. This meal would have been more accuratly priced at about $8. I have been here a few times and had high hopes each time as a friend recommended this place. the food is not terrible but it definitely does not warrant the price they charge. my issue is with the poor service. I went here at 700 at night and it still took 10 minutes just to get a soda. the waitress never came back to check on me and I had to ask for my bill. DO NOT USE THE ONLINE MENU TO ORDER CARRYOUT. I ordered two items off this menu for dinner tonight and went to pick up my food expecting it to be around $16. When I walked in, I was told it would be $27 even. I explained that I was a little confused because I used the online menu and was only expecting my total to be around $16. They laughed me off saying that they were Dos Amigos 2 and the menu listed here isn't accurate (even though their address and phone number are). I then made a comment about how it would be interested to see what I am actually getting since the menu I ordered off of was inaccurate. The hostess replied with, "yeah". In addition, they did not provide any chips or salsa with the meal. I will NEVER go back, as this was the second time I have been majorly ripped off and extremely disappointed with this establishment. If you are looking for good Mexican food in the East Troy area, it is worth the extra drive to Sol de Mexico in Mukwonago, where the food is reasonably priced and the owners stop at nothing to make sure you are satisfied. New to Yelp after several bad experiences eating out in the last month, and wondering what has happened to Local Service. Twice now we have attempted to eat locally only to find staff that are either drinking on the job or preoccupied with everything other than service, and at Dos Amigos we waited over 20 minutes to get our beers or even a menu prior to giving up and leaving. I can't say anything about the food because we never actually ate, but I do think that the one star is deserved due to no service at all. There are many local businesses that provide great food and service, so there is really no excuse for a 20 minute wait when there were 4 people in the restaurant. read more

We have been coming here for over 10 years and the food is still quite decent. HOWEVER, the new servers are so bad they would have to improve to be considered terrible. It is as if they have never been out for dinner themselves, and certainly have not been trained or taught anything at all. After reminding our waitress a couple of times that we did not have any silverware, she eventually came with a handful of forks and knives and dropped them in the middle of the table...hilarious! Ever been served fajitas and when asked where are the tortillas been told "it will be a few minutes"? Ever order soup and have it brought to you AFTER your main course? We kept laughing as these examples are just a few that we had to deal with. As for the additional chips and salsa...not happening if the guy in the back that makes them decides to go on break...even though we kept being told over and over that fresh hot ones were coming right up.
