We also have bacalaitos like appetizers and it was simple delicious and crunchy like in PR . Decided to eat here for the world classic Puerto Rico game. What an experience! They had TVs in every corner playing the game with a bar that many restaurants have closed to the public. Very open concept but bar-restaurant feel still. From the drinks to the service to the food was amazing. We had the mojito special and I definitely recommend the mango! Wasn't watered down and just enough hit. The entree we got was their traditional mofongo and being a carnivore we both got the steak churrasco meal. I went here for the lunch special and the pastelón blew me away! The flavors were so rich and authentic- loved it! They make everything from scratch so plan to spend extra time waiting for food. I also recommend getting the lunch specials if you can as they're much more affordable than the main menu. The ambience was good with lively music and bright colors. I think casa Vieja is cute. We tried the Kissimmee location. It was very busy when we arrived. The host only spoke Spanish. My partner doesn't speak Spanish. Just something to keep in mind, not all your guest will be Spanish speakers. We waited about 8 minutes to be seated. We ordered water, which isn't free. 2 dollars for a bottle which is interesting. We ordered bacalaitos and an alcapuria for appetizers. The bacalaitos were great. We ordered mayo ketchup with ours which was also an additional cost. For entrees I got a mofongo con camarones, my partner got a mofongo with churrasco. We were asked if we wanted the mofongo in sauce and the sauce options were listed. This was also an additional cost that we weren't advised of, initially. I think it's important to be upfront about up charges and also, why would garlic sauce be an additional cost to a mofongo with no sides that's already priced 26-30 dollars? Any way, my mofongo was great. Great flavors. The garlic didn't over power the mofongo. My partners mofongo was not good. The churrasco was cut in large pieces that were difficult to chew. I also ordered a side of rice and beans. The beans were the best part of the meal. Very flavorful. Overall- this restaurant is overpriced. The mofongo is one of the best we have had at a restaurant and highly recommend. We had the chicken and shrimp mofongo. I was thrilled that they charge extra for sauce for the mofongo or tostones since pricing is already a bit high. Most places that is included. The bistec with onions was okay and fried pork chops were dry. The music was great and they had several TVs around the area playing sports and music. The tables we liked how they were spaced so it didn't feel crowded, but the chairs are hard and uncomfortable. The waiter was very nice but it seemed that she was overseeing too many tables. We had to ask several times to get drinks. Overall the place was clean however my shoes stuck to the bathroom floor. This was in the afternoon. read more

A lot of ghetto people come to this place and when you open the door the first thing you see is a bar and you look to the left toward the restroom and there is a neon sign with Spanish curse words. The service was slow and they are extremely overpriced. They charge extra for sauce like ketchup and they won't give you a cup of water. You have to buy bottled water. horrible experience. i ordered a lemonade without ice and they gave me a mini cup, smaller than a kids size. my other family member ordered a regular orange juice and it was in a regular sized cup with more ice than juice. they up charge almost everything, be prepared to order everything as a side and get tiny portions. the food wasn't worth the price. i didn't want some of the things on the bowl option but they said i had to choose 4 things or i couldn't get the bowl. which doesn't make sense. everything is charged separately so i should've been able to choose what i wanted and didn't want. i would recommend grillers in kissimmee, i've been and staff is nicer and food tastes better. read more

Wish this rating will give the option of 0. We visited the Kissimmee location and the experience wasn't that great. The outside and when you walk in is ok, but the food. OMG, they need to teach their servers about meat doneness as we asked and she just stated meet come out how ever the kitchen staff do them. They need to find a better chef and kitchen crew (like ASAP) as the meat that we order was overcook and dry (Well, well, well welllll done), no flavor and the rice with cilantro looks like they forgot or didn't buy cilantro that day. As soon as you walk in and you tell them that is 4 of us the host get told by a server to tell us that the gratuity is a 20% and it will be included on the ticket. Unfortunately for them. I scratch the 20% and wrote what I was giving as a tip and wrote on the on the paper not authorizing them to charge what they were forcing and to only charge what I'm was authorizing. Took a picture of the receipt with my note and immediately they change the charges. Please understand that this was told to every group on 2,4, or 6 that will walk in. Once we seat down the server (lady) without even saying good afternoon or nothing. Started by saying that foos will take 1 hour and half and that she recommends getting a few appetizer since is going to take long. We told them that we were fine to just take the order of what we wanted to drink. The server rolled her eyes and took the full order. Miraculously the server got us the drinks and with in 20 minutes the food was served. Hmmmmmmmm and that was the same story that the server was telling all the tables around us. Don't know if the owner now or cares about this. But I won't recommend this place to eat. They are just trying to be like pal' campo or Grillers and they are ln't even close to them.
