My friend and I ordered margaritas and food. While waiting, we watched our server bring margaritas to multiple tables around us, including tables that ordered after we did. After about 30 minutes, our food finally arrived, and only then did the server say, "Sorry, my manager says you look too young." We explained that we are both of legal drinking age. Instead of handling this professionally, the server responded sarcastically with, "Are you sure? Are you sure?" which was incredibly disrespectful. He then brought us tiny mugs that no one else in the restaurant had, containing the wrong drink with no alcohol. At that point, we said we were not paying for drinks we did not order and asked to speak to a manager. The server did not apologize or explain. He grabbed the glasses and walked off, then returned with our checks saying the manager was busy and reminding us about tipping. To make things worse, there was a 10% service charge automatically added despite the poor service. As we were leaving, we spoke to the manager and explained the situation. We were denied proper service because we "looked too young" instead of being asked for other ID forms upfront, which we would have gladly provided. A simple and respectful conversation would have avoided this entire experience. Overall, this was embarrassing, frustrating, and unprofessional. I will not be returning. read more

Have driven past it on 280 forever but never stopped in until tonight. Best thing this place has is its salsa. It's on the spicier side so if you can't do spicy it may not be for you but I really liked it. Then I got arroz con pollo for my meal which was alright. Nothing special and kind of just your run of the mill chicken, cheese, and rice. I definitely have other Mexican places I like better in the area but this place is fine. read more

Friday night I had girls' night with two of my friends. What's better than Mexican and margaritas when catching up right?! Their salsa has to be some of the best I've had in a restaurant. I like that it had a bit of heat to it. My margarita was good and was much larger than I anticipated The only thing I was disappointed with was my steak fajitas. The broth had an amazing flavor with big chunks of potato, carrots, shredded chicken, celery and of course cheese. I always ask them to hold the tortilla chips. If you are a tortilla soup lover, this is a must try. I also got the pescado which is salmon over mango, tomatoes, queso fresco and lettuce. The salmon was grilled with no oil which is amazing! I wish I could give 5.5 stars! The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the shrimp and scallop enchiladas and my friend ordered the beef bisteca. We also had a side of queso fundido and guacamole and oh my goodness, every bite was just perfection! What a hidden gem!!! Do not miss out on the food here! Food is inconsistent in quality. I orded a pork meal, and the meat was badly overcooked, almost inedible, no flavor. Beans and rice are the usual "Mexican" restaurant bland. Salsa is good, however. Terribly unfriendly service today for a 1pm lunch. I never send anything back but I sent the cheese dip back because it was like water. I believe this is sister restaurant to Leon's Taberna in Liberty Park, which we frequent a lot and always have top-notch service. The guy who was serving us, barely spoke; didn't say anything about me returning the cheese dip, and never checked on us until we were clearly finished. Food was mediocre at best. stopped in here on my way to a medical conference when i got into the city. highly recommended by peers. i waited an extremely long time for simple nachos, but saw they were busy. so, grace there. the server (male) should have stayed in the kitchen and not serving the public. when i gave him my card (travel card from an investment firm ) it would not authorize the expense and he returned stating (loudly) your card was declined. i had just shopped and gotten gas with the same card so i knew it was active. it was my expense account! he actually slammed the tray with my card and bill to sign. so very very rude. he said nothing! just slammed the tray at me. could not believe he had been so rude. i still left a small gratuity but not as much as i normally do. trust me i have told the person whom referred this establishment and she knew who i was speaking of . so, mexico lindo, if you're listening... monitor your server that has this attitude. no bueno! read more

I believe when we visited it was around 3pm on a Thursday. There was no one there but the workers, and this was great because we got really fast service! Our server didn't seem very thrilled to be there at first but he loosened up as the time past. The restaurant was clean.. so no complaints there and there was plenty of booth seating. I wish I could remember the exact name of what I ordered because it was so flavorful! All I know is that it was a savory pork that was blended with a brown sauce (almost like a gravy) and it comes with tortillas, rice, and beans. So good! The margaritas here were okay... I really wasn't sure what I was I was setting myself up for when I stumbled into Mexico Lindo. It's not the fanciest of places, for sure, and when I walked in it was almost like they weren't sure what to do with me (a customer). But, they got me seated and they started to shine. Drink came out quickly and the sweet tea certainly lived up to the billing and packed a sweet taste. Chips and salsa were up next ..... man does the salsa pack a punch. If spicy isn't your thing go easy at this stuff ..... but well worth it, has really good flavor. Next out of the kitchen, my lunch entree, the Chicken Flautas. They come with sour cream and guac (held both) as well as a bed of lettuce and some pico de gallo (type topping). These flautas were legit! Hands down the best chicken flautas I've ever had (I usually try flautas the first time at any Mexican restaurant to serve as a comparison). Chicken was cooked perfect, but not dry or rubbery. Flautas had a generous portion of meat. Literally the only critique I can come up with is that it wasn't 4 flautas (lunch order came with 3 - but in all fairness it was plenty of food). Staff were super friendly and made sure I was happy with everything. Total, out the door price, was a little over $13 (including drink). Really pleased with my stop here, I'd for sure come back here in the future. read more

I have been here a few times but this time I adventured beyond just fajitas. I ordered the Puerco which was full of flavor!! It's stewed pork in a red sauce that slapped right in to a tortilla so well. It comes with rice and beans. The portion size is huge. I had to get a to go box. The service was fast even though they were slammed! Great little place with lots of outdoor seating. I ordered the Mexican Guacamole as well which was a pretty large serving as well. read more

I came here after work to eat with my friends. There is a huge parking lot. All but one space was available for me to park in so I see that they are popular on Friday nights. They are doing an excellent job with barriers as our table had dividers that separated us from other diners. Our server was nice, and the staff all had their masks on to protect their patrons. I ordered the Chicken Flautas based off the pictures here on yelp. The salad portion was delicious! So fresh and flavorful. The actual chicken and tortilla was dry and overcooked so I don't think I'll be ordering this again. The main reason for my two star review is that there is an additional fee that they do not tell you about until after you already pay. The first receipt you are given doesn't disclose the fee. My friends and I all paid with cards, which is what the majority of people do. If you do not pay with cash, you are charged an additional fee. The fee is only about a dollar more for each of us, but since I had cash with me, I would have appreciated the waiter disclosing that piece of information before we paid. I think that is courtesy to give people that carry both cash and card the option. I wouldn't want to inconvenience this place if paying with a card is a hassle for them, so I do ask that they start telling guests ahead of time. read more

Mexico Lindo is the best! The staff is extremely courteous, professional in every aspect. I have made friends with most of them, and without fail I am always greeted with a smile. If I slip past one or two and they see my bike (M/C) out front they will find me and with a handshake, pat on the back, or a big ol bearhug will let me know they are happy to see me. I always make it a point to speak to the folks that serve me wherever I am. Being a mechanic dealing with the public I know that everyone is not going to be your friend, but everyone likes to hear "Good Job Sir and Thank you. I finally made it out to Mexico Lindo after driving by it many times for the past 6 years, and all I can say is WOW! I'm really disappointed in myself for not giving them a chance earlier! I've never cared for Tex Amex aside from El Barrio, especially since we have so many great authentic Mexican eateries in Bham. We'll I guess I only hated Tex mex because I never had truly good Tex Mex in my life until now. We started off with a few round of drinks. I was expecting overly saccharine margaritas and sangrias but they were perfect and delicious. Chips and salsa were out of this world. I also have always snubbed my nose at ordering queso (because real Mexicans don't, right!?) but I was proven wrong again with their delicious queso dip. Tamales were soooo good. I never had a real tamale though to compare it to except for that horrible place that was once called Delta Blues. Those tamales taste like garbage but the ones at ML were tasty and flavorful!! This is a Mexican restaurant and they could at least muddle the peppers and would have been great. Nope. The waiter brought me a regular margarita with way too much sour mix with 2 pieces of pepper on top and tried to charge double the price as a specialty drink. Not cool. No bueno. Chips and salsa were average and I immediately complained, closed my tab and left. They get 3 stars bc after walking next door to Over Easy to eat and going home, I realized I left my credit card. We wanted to celebrate The Big Win outdoors in a Covid-safe environment and this place was perfect. We started with MAGA Margaritas to set the tone. I had steak & mushroom tacos with beans and rice. Tender cubes of meat with succulent shrooms and not stingy on the size. My lady had a chicken quesadilla with a side order of jalapeño queso to dump on top. Savory shredded chicken. Mmmmm good. I don't like dishonest businesses. I save my credit card receipts to take sure the tip is added correctly. I gave them a 21% tip, at $6.64. They conveniently added another $1.46 against my permission that I see now on the credit card statement. I didn't tip you $8. You will be hearing from my credit card company and I will not be back here. There already was a 3% fee for using my credit card. So disappointed! read more
