Awesome!! Fajitas were great!! Fajitas for two would feed four. Guacamole was awesome so was the tortilla soup.

Food is pretty much pre cooked and tasteless, the rice is dry, beans were bland and placed on top of everything. The mix drinks were definitely not worth $7 as it was all flat ginger ale and very little Jameson. It appears the owner works there, looking miserable and bossing the waiters and waitresses around. Passing through on the interstate, my father and I decided to try this restaurant based upon Yelp reviews. I should have been suspicious, as most of the positive reviews applaud alcohol sales, and do not mention the food. I should have been suspicious again when I walked in and noticed that not a single employee, at a Tex-Mex restaurant, was Hispanic. Ah, the name is Dos Loco Gringos, so there is no false advertising at least. But we decided to try it anyway. Big mistake. The food was about what you would expect from a couple of gringos trying to cook Mexican food without much love. Under-seasoned crap from a can, heated in a microwave. We both had a mixed enchilada plate. It didn't taste good, but we were hungry, so we ate it anyway. Bigger mistake. If I had written a review that evening, I would have given the place two stars. Bad food, but close to the highway and friendly staff. But the next day my father and I both came down with a bad case of salmonella food poisoning. Dos Loco Gringos was the ONLY place where we dined together, so the source is undeniable. Need I say more? You couldn't drag me back into that place, alive at least. read more

This place is open on Sunday, don't even bother driving into Hope. Everything there is closed and this place is the best! Went on Mother's Day as we were traveling back to Texas. Looked crowded but the inside is large and we were seated immediately. Staff was friendly and very attentive. Excellent chips and salsa. I had the baked potato stuffed with fajitas meat, grilled onions/peppers and smothered in queso. This is some if the best fajitas meat I have ever had. Moist, tender and it almost melted in your mouth. My boyfriend had the Sante Fe. He said is was very good. Comparable to Tex-Mex we can get back home. The sour cream sauce was also very good. (He is a chef, so that's a pretty big compliment.) My daughter had the smothered burrito. She said the seasoning on the meat was good. She also liked the white queso. So glad everything else was closed and we got to "discover" this place. read more

Very attentive service and fast! Food was good but it is hard to screw up Tex Mex. Prices are very reasonable and the only downside is that it gets very loud in the restaurant and it is hard to carry a conversation. read more

The food was good and fresh but the house Margaritas were gross. My husband got a frozen and even returned it for a on the rocks and it still was jinkey . Not sure why.. maybe the mixer they use. Also they don't have real butter, only 'spread' and the honey that came with it for my sopapilla was yucky. Food was good though and quick service. read more

This is first time try this place and order the fajitas and got full of potatoes there is no vegetables and when we ask for more veggies and have to pay extra for. We paid the price of chicken fajita for little vegetables fajita without any meat. Very bad experience. read more

They didn't serve guacamole with my fajita nachos. The waiter was slow. And there's absolutely no personality in that restaurant at all. Felt like a walk in to a funeral home. Not my idea of a Mexican restaurant that supposed to be all about a fiesta. Somebody needs to tell them they're in the hospitality business and greet people with a smile and a fun energetic attitude. Had a great lunch here with my daughter. Hot chips and guacamole to start the meal, a little salsa and some quesadillas. Very nice lunch, just wished I could have ordered a margarita, but Hope is a no drinking in public town. Not legal to sell here. read more

We've just recently moved to Hope and have eaten here a few times. We ordered today, 3/15/15, and I am wondering if it is under new management. Okay, I use Yelp a lot, but have never written a review until now. I, too, am from Central Texas and put too much weight on that person's review. The one star I give this place is for the server - maybe they should let her do the cooking! The food tasted like it came out of cans from the nearby WalMart. Nothing we ordered was freshly prepared, not even the salsa. Access to the restaurant was a little confusing - if you turn at the Walmart, you can't get to the restaurant parking lot. Seriously, Taco Bell would have been a better choice. To the person from Central Texas, we must not be eating at the same Mexican restaurants in Central Texas. The food was good. Everyone in my group ordered something different and we all enjoyed our meals. The prices were high for a small town with several Mexican restaurants. Not sure why there would be an up-charge for grilled peppers and onions when I ordered a meal with the word "fajita" in it. Our server was kind and attentive. Oasis in a dry county!! Reading previous reviews, we headed over to Dos Locos apprehensive that we were in a dry county. However, we were greeted by the vivacious Secorie who assured us this was not the case. We enjoyed cold beers along with a tasty salad and a good Mucho Grande Burrito. Fast and friendly service! You know...I really wonder about the average American. Are people so stupid that they think a place called, "Dos Locos Gringos", which translates to "Two Crazy White Boys" would have authentic Mexican food?!? No where on the sign, menu, bath room wall, etc., does the place claim to have authentic Mexican food!! There is however, a large Hispanic population in the city of Hope, AR., and therefore, MANY places to get real, authentic, Mexican food...if that is what you are looking for. BUT, if you are looking for VERY GOOD Tex/Mex food, a great atmosphere, friendly service and much food for your dollar...This is the place!! read more

We are from the Batesville, AR area and chose this restaurant to meet family from Texas at a halfway point, which happened to be Hope, AR. I'm usually leery of eating at new restaurants so I checked out the reviews before going and I wasn't disappointed. It was noisy as someone else pointed out, but the service was outstanding and the food from the lunch menu was delicious. My family stopped in Hope on the last leg of a multiweek vacation. Dos Loco Gringos looked like a likely place, though based on the reviews we didn't expect much. We were very pleasantly surprised. Yes, it's not over done kitzch, just an authentic family restaurant that happens to serve Mexican food. The staff was attentive and helpful. My wife and I shared the fajitas for 2, and they brought an extra plate for my (picky eater) youngest to share as well, no charge. The fajita sides were tasty - the guacamole was fresh, and the pico seemed fresh cut as well. Serving size was generous: we even had leftovers for the next days lunch. My older son had the taco plate, and described them as "om nom" which is his way of saying excellent. According to him the Spanish grammar on the menu was deplorable, but what can you expect for Two Crazy White Guys? read more

This is the absolute worst place I have ever eaten I ordered a medium rare t-bone and it was all fat pretty much on top of that our waiter was the rudest waiter I've ever had it doesn't matter if a customer comes in an hour before you close or 10 minutes before you close you are supposed to treat them with the same smile and respect you do for all customers throughout the day I have worked in the food industry and honestly this place doesn't even deserve a single star, the sweet tea wasn't sweet and the salsa was terrible.
