I've been wanting to try JP since it's opened but finally got a chance to visit today. I'm glad I…read morechecked IG before coming here. We park on a side street and walked over. The store sits facing Woodward Ave. The store isn't very big so seating is also minimal. Definitely more of a take out sort of spot. We ordered the beef bowl- loved the garlic rice. The beef reminded me of bulgogi a bit. There was so much meat, there was a great ratio of meat to rice. Out of all the pastries/drinks we ended up getting, I am a huge fan of the ube latte, mango donut and ube croissant. I'm so glad they're open on Saturdays! Service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend stopping by for a treat that isn't too sweet!

I was in the area so we stopped by to get some goodies. It was so difficult to decide but ended up with: 1) Buko Pandan Cookies 2) Suman Malagkit (Filipino Steamed Rice Cakes) 3) Pan De Sal 4) Ube Basque Cheesecake Everything was KILLER. But I've never had the suman before and it was epically delicious. The nice human working didn't sell it very well by using the adjective "gelatinous" but it's rice flour based and steamed so as you can expect that wonderfuly bouncy chewy texture. I wish I bought 5 more but I was a bit shy given how it was introduced to me. I'm definitely going to be back! Everything was seriously so stellar. Street parking only.

Service and Ambiance was perfect. Have no complaints when it came to that at all…read more The food however was another story. I've been hearing really good things for about year regarding this place. Especially the French onion soup. I absolutely adore French onion soup. If you like a sweet soup that doesn't have that rich beefy flavor you will like this. If you like rich , savory French onion soup you will be unfortunately as disappointed as I was. We did try the mushroom tart, there was so much cream on the tart it made the pastry dough soggy. There were so many leeks it was overpowering. We got the duck confit and it was dry and tasteless. Needless to say, I had to make us lunch when we got home and I cried on the way home due to how disappointed I was. We will never be back.

One giant raise for her, please, thanks. At least 10 extra dollars an hour. I got the uhhh. Brioche... something. Basically fancy French toast with caramelized apples on top with a really good whipped cream. Super good. Might start caramelizing apples for French toast all the time now. My friend got the duck slow cooked in oil, forgot what it's called. But I tried a piece and it was really good too. Oily, but that should be expected of something submerged and cooked in oil. First time trying duck, and I think it's more fatty than chicken, so that probably contributes as well. Still good though. The lemon financier was good too, reminded me of like a lemon pound cake if you aren't sure if you'd like it.

Between the caramel apple cheesecake, double chocolate torte, chocolate Cannoli, Blueberry Bread Pudding with Rum, Strawberry Cronut, Chocolate Pistachio Baklava, Caramel Apple Bar, Caramel Cake, Butter almond cookie, and the lemon bar. We are in heaven with these pastries and will always go every time we are in town. The shop also has old fashioned "take a number" waiting which is a great way to manage a busy store. Everyone was lively and happy to wait for their yummy desserts. Overall 10* if that was a possible rating. You will not be disappointed with whatever you get there. The pricing was very reasonable for what was being offered, and the staff was friendly too. I had their baklava. This was unbelievable. I have not had as much baklava as other desserts, but this was just unreal. There was a ton of cinnamon present, and it went perfectly with the honey aspect (believe it was honey anyway). The flaky pastry crust made it that more enjoyable. I was thinking of going back to get it again! Will I go back? Obvious.
