Average Chinese in my opinion. I'll probably go back and expand on the menu next time because they offer a lot of authentic Chinese dishes. We ordered the chicken and snow peas, Szechuan chicken, and Kung Pao chicken. The chicken and snow peas isn't anything special, plain chicken and veggies with not much flavor. The Kung Pao and Szechuan were flavored well and of course the portions were huge. I'll be having leftovers for a couple days. The fried rice was pretty good as well. For a couple sides we ordered the eggs rolls and hot and sour soup. The eggs rolls left a lot to be desired. They looked good but the taste wasn't there, pretty bland. Great for my daughter who doesn't want any crazy flavor, but was lacking in my opinion. The hot and sour soup I thought was really good, but it was my first time ever having it. It was really flavorful. We ordered to go, but when I picked up the food, I wish we would've eaten in. It was really nice on the inside. Dot Wo is an OKC metro institution. For decades you simply could not find a better Chinese meal in the city, at any of their locations. However, that changed when Dot Wo got rid of their signature potstickers and eggrolls and replaced them with prepackaged frozen food, that quite frankly tastes like it came from a grocery store. Everything else on the menu is normal and the staff is great, however removing signature foods from the menu is like McDonald's stopping selling hamburgers. If it ain't broke don't fix it Dot Wo. A friend took me to lunch here recently and it was my first time visiting. I was very impressed with the quality of the food as well as the speed and friendliness of the staff. The decor is nice and the seating in the booths was very comfortable and clean. The combination lunch was very reasonably priced and you will not go hungry. I will definitely be back soon. read more

Gone are the glory days of the old Dot Wo up north. I asked for two or three extra pancakes with my mu shu, and was flatly refused. (Rudely, no less.) I can go to Grand House and get a few complimentary extra pancakes with my order of mu shu. Hell, I even offered to pay at Do Wo but got the same answer -- "no." Screw this sh*t. I'll happily stop in for mu shu at Grand House next time -- and it's far closer to my home in northwest Oklahoma City, to boot. So this place is a half half for me. Their duck is really good. It doesn't have that game smell or taste but they seem to be really cheap about everything. I ask for a refill on my drink j get charged I asked for more steamed buns I get charged.. We live in North OKC, so this is a 20 minute drive for Chinese food. But its worth it! WE like traditional Chinese and this could not be better. We came here for a large family dinner on a Saturday night and it was pretty empty. It is located in a strip mall and has tinted windows so cannot see in. The dining room is specious and good for groups. We had a large circular table with a "lazy susan." It is clean inside and there were a few TVs showing sports. We ordered a bevy of dishes and I would say that their chicken was better than most Chinese places. The only sketchy dish should have been the best one. The shaken beef was way too raw. I know that you shouldn't have overdone beef, but there was red and blood in some of the pieces. Not acceptable for Chinese food. The sauce was good too, so it was a shame. This is my first time here in this location. The restaurant itself is very spacious, and it seems very slow on a saturday night. We ordered 3 dishes along with one soup came out to be only $45. The chicken itself is very juicy and soft, so good. Orange peel chicken or chicken peel dish, I forgot what it called. It is not for my taste to be honest. But my friend enjoyed it a lot more than me. The place is very clean. Very quiet and calm as well. Not a bad restaurant for eating with family, or maybe catching up with some friends over dinner. My all time favorite place to get the salty peppered fried tofu. No other place make it the same. 2nd favorite dish is the peking pork chops. You will not find another place that have the same porkchops. Not only is the sauce savory but the pieces are huge! 3rd must have plate is the water spinach. Always.. always green! A dish that we recently tried is the shrimp walnut. Not one of my favorite but it was among my family. I'm not a mayo person of you if you are the you'll love it. My daughter likes udon noodles. She doesn't like fried rice. I asked to get a side of udon noodles. Offered to pay for it too. They flat out refused. I was flabbergasted! I want to pay for it and you still say NO! Emphatically and rudely at that. Like I said the food is good, but really no different than any other Chinese food place. On a road trip to Texas, stopped on Christmas day for a **much** needed meal. Service was friendly and fast, and the food came out very hot and very fast. Huge portions to boot. We had egg rolls, crab rangoon, and a couple of dishes between us. I had ordered orange chicken, but I recieved sesame chicken. It wasn't the end of the world and I still really enjoyed my meal. My husband wouldn't stop eating off my plate. My one complaint is their fried rice. I'm not entirely sure what it actually was, but it was not fried rice. If you loved Dot Wo on N. May (which closed earlier this year) you'll love the food at this branch of the tree. The food is just as good, with all the selections you loved. It's smaller than the mother ship, but the staff is just as caring and nice. We went for Chinese Christmas lunch with family and low to our wondering eyes, but their lunch menu was available. On a holiday. What other restaurant allows you to order from the lunch menu on a holiday. I got my favorite sweet and sour chicken from the lunch menu. It came with my choice of sweet & sour soup or egg drop. Steamed or fried rice, 1 egg roll, 2 fried shrimp & the battered chicken with sweet sauce. I got egg drop soup which I don't know why as I don't like eggs, but tried to like it. It was somewhat bland. Salt & pepper helped, but I only ate 1/2. Which is ok because my steamed rice, shrimp and chicken more than made up for the soup. The egg roll, was fried perfectly, wasn't tough and filled with tasty cabbage. I don't know why I waste my time going to chinese buffets when this gem is just a few more miles from my home. I need to make Chinese Christmas more often. read more

We ordered from here this evening. We were not wowed at all. The egg roll was looking like a large spring roll. The wrapper used was what is used on spring rolls normally. Their lo Mein noodles were like angle hair. Normally I thought they were thicker noodles. The sesame chicken was not too bad. My son was missing his soup and an egg roll. I ordered the chicken soup with sizzling rice. The broth had no flavor and left an oily film in my mouth. My husband got the pork spare ribs. He said they were just not worth it in the end. They were breaded and friend and had bits of bone and they were just sitting in the sauce not tossed in the sauce. He ended up throwing his ribs out, which is a big deal. He never throws food away. We were expecting better based off of reviews we were reading on various outlets. We spent $94 on our meal. I'm a little disappointed at this point. I honestly liked the Portland location much better. It doesn't taste greasy like it did at this location. My bf enjoys this place very much so, maybe it was just what I ordered. I had the shrimp with lobster sauce as usual and the sauce looked/was extremely oily. The shrimp however was cooked perfectly and tender, but it barely had any black beans in it. The crab rangoon was fine.. nothing great but then again it's just crab rangoon. I'll probably give this place another try but just order something simple like sesame chicken next time. read more

Food: I have had Chinese food across the country and finally found a place in Oklahoma that has good won ton soup with big chunks of pork and very flavorful broth. The chicken used in the chicken fried rice is juicy and lots of it. Price: Lunch specials are a good deal but the regular menu runs on the high side but food quality evens out with the price. Decor: On the lower side of some places I been to in the Chinese restaurant world. I think they could do much better. Service: Hit and miss for the most part. The three stars is for the appetizers only! My husband said his shrimp egg roll was the best he's had, and I really like the egg roll wraps they use. The shrimp roll, and crab Rangoon were great as well! However, the Mongolian Beef was awful! I didn't realize it had carrots but that was my fault for not noticing that in the description. The beef itself though was horrendous. The texture was mushy and tasted nothing like beef. Definitely a huge miss. My husband really enjoyed his Egg Foo Yung though.
