Granted, it was 2:30pm on a Wednesday afternoon and I was hoping for same-day delivery, but the arrangement was just going to a local hospital--totally doable, right? Wrong. So very wrong. Several online vendors immediately declined the order due to timing. One shop told me they could accommodate my timeframe, so I asked if I could email, text or verbally share a link with the arrangement I had in mind? This was met with an exasperated sigh, followed by an explanation that they didn't have those flowers. Mind you, this was before I even described it or sent a link/photo. Next. When I stumbled upon Copper Penny Flowers' website, I was instantly drawn to their fresh, modern arrangements in stunning colors--a far cry from the ho-hum, generic selections I'd seen everywhere else. I figured they'd be way out of my range, but when I called to inquire about alternative options, Caroline couldn't have been more upbeat and helpful. Unlike so many others, who led with what they weren't able to do for me, she asked open-ended questions and suggested minor tweaks and modifications to mirror the essence and volume of the design I envisioned, kept it within my budget, and was able to include same-day shipping in the final price we agreed upon. She designed an arrangement over the phone that utilized my favorite blooms in an incredible color scheme, in a gorgeous, contemporary design. Better still? She let me know that they'd deliver it within the hour. Done and done! Needless to say, it took all the pain out of purchasing a floral arrangement across state lines, and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. Kudos to Copper Penny Flowers! I have already added the florist to my contact list for any and all floral needs in the area. May the small, local florist--who actually collaborates with the customer vs. a borg with zero flexibility--continue to bloom and thrive!

Based on a good experience at this very store about 3 years ago (and yes that plant is still alive & thriving, even with my poor skills) I returned on Saturday. (2) IMMEDIATE HELP FROM AN ENTHUSIASTIC CREW I went to this Mahoney's with a friend who is excellent with plants, and we walked through the entire enormous greenhouse/garden center to identify what plants I liked, and what we thought may be a fit in terms of size, care, access to light, price, etc. Once we had our "list" I asked for assistance. First, there was a SUPER FRIENDLY young man, (Logan I believe?) and he IMMEDIATELY was incredibly enthusiastic about plants. With an encouraging tone, he personally guided us through the store and show us his favorites and why he thought I could manage them. As our conversation deepened, he immediately connected me with gardeners there who could better help. Mahoney's is incredibly lucky to have such a welcoming employee as this one. (3) EXCEPTIONAL ADVICE FROM NATALIA. We were BLOWN AWAY by the energy, knowledge, competence, patience, and follow-through from NATALIA in the Mahoney's in Concord. She was down to earth, did not rush us, and personally walked us through the store as well. She listened to my needs, looked at a few photos of my room/space and provided creative solutions and helped steer me away from plants that she thought would not thrive in my space, while directing me to others that she felt convinced would look great. I am not kidding. I bought 6 plants, and my friend who was NOT planning to buy a plant, bought one too. That's how awesome Natalia is. Ordered a casket spray for my aunts funeral. I was a florist…read moremany, many years ago and recall being taught to use all the flowers that were on their way out (dying) for funeral arrangements because the flowers only have to last the 1-2 days after the arrangement is made. Funeral arrangements cost a LOT of money. Due to knowing that, I always send plants with flowers in them or vase arrangements. When your booking the funeral and you need certain pieces, there is know avoiding getting what you get and hoping the flowers are not wilting. Bedford Florist was great! See below pic for yourself. Lily's were in full bloom. Since it's for a funeral, that's okay and my preference since I was not taking it home to enjoy. Note, I did pay $420 for the casket spray...which is why there are roses, stargazer lilies and orchids. If you want to spend less, it is doable there. I requested those colors, lilies and snap dragon. It smelled amazing. I meant to request wax flower but forgot. She used it on her own ;)
