    Matcha Latte

You can find Dottie's Donuts at some businesses around Philadelphia (Elixr Coffee for instance) but the real experience comes from visiting their actual shop. Dottie's Donuts is all vegan. Great, this means very basic flavors right? Uh, no. They offer a wide variety of flavors that would make non vegan donut shops blush. During my visit they had flavors that were flowery (matcha, hibiscus), desserty (cheesecake), filled and fruity (lemon, mixed berry). I ordered a half dozen of a variety of flavors. I loved all that I ordered. The texture and flavors had me convinced that I wasn't eating vegan. That's how comparable they were to their dairy filled brethren. Even my kids, who aren't vegan, ate the donuts I got for them without making comments about how they are "daddy style" donuts. The six donuts were reasonably priced compared to other vegan donuts I've had. They honestly weren't too far off what I pay for non vegan donuts for the family. Also ordered a matcha latte during my visit which was very good. If you are vegan, Dottie's Donuts is a must visit when in Philadelphia.

I have been here before and I enjoyed all my donuts, this time I must say I didn't really enjoy them! They were just a bit too sweet and the flavor profiles became intensely overwhelming! I enjoy their rotating flavors! I also enjoy that all the cashiers are patient. My favorite thing is their walk up nature where it feels like a donut window or stall. I just really didn't like my donut flavors this time around!

Dottie's continues to impress me with their clever donut themes each and every day. From the marvelous Dubai Chocolate donut to the amazing fruit preserve-filled pillows, Dottie's has a donut for everyone. Today I had to try their newest donuts based on the new Wicked For Good film. Glinda is a round donut with a raspberry glaze, vanilla drizzle, and a raspberry rice crispie treat sitting on top. Elphaba is a filled donut topped with matcha glaze and green sprinkles and filled with toasted pistachio buttercream. Both are a delight to eat and brought back sweet memories of the films. Join their Instagram to see their newest creations every day!

Got their Chocolate Pistachio and Matcha Oreo donuts today - best way to eat these is bring them home and warm them up in the microwave for 15 seconds. I always miss the best flavors - one day I hope to try their rose pistachio and something with coconut.

Vegan, Fresh & Delicious! I had an appointment in the area and was excited to finally visit this establishment. Caleb was very kind and answered a few questions for me. My now adult daughter was born with severe food allergies. Establishments like this did not exist two decades ago. Other than those donuts that have a nut topping; the donuts here are nut free. Not made with a nut based flour. Not everyone that eats vegan food can eat nuts. I am not really a sweets person, however if I have a taste for a donut this is definitely a go to for me. My vanilla glazed donut did not taste "Vegan". It was delicious to the point that I could not believe it was Vegan. I gave the apple fritter and cold brew to my son.

Really enjoyed stopping by Dottie's Donuts on my way to New York! The peach fritter was excellent and the service was great!

Vegan or no vegan, these donuts are good. Moist and way better than Dunkin's Donuts. I happen to past this place on the way to 6th street and since I used to be vegan, it wasn't out of the ordinary for me to return back to my old lifestyle. Vegan food is still food at the end of the day. I was also having a slight sweet tooth too. I came in around 2p and there was no line. A small little donut shop. Literally, I was in and out in 2 minutes. They had a good selection of donuts. Ultimately, I opted for lemon poppy. It was the right amount of lemon flavor. I almost got the matcha one since I'm a huge fan but passed on that one. It was after 2 and I can be a little sensitive to caffeine l. By the time I got to the restaurant I was initially headed too, I wanted to turn around and get another because it was so good but they closed at 3pm sadly. Definitely gonna come back if I'm ever back in Philly!

My husband picked us up donuts and surprised me with great flavors! Favorites were the blueberry cannoli and the toasted coconut. Didn't realize this place was vegan until I went to do the review! Glazed was a bit on the dry side maybe because it was pretty plain. Would go back!

Loved the Pumpkin Chai donut! It's the perfect fall treat without being too oily or sweet. I was surprised by the texture, as it was super soft almost like a milk bread loaf. The Boston Cream donut was also a pleasant surprise - I anticipated the cream to be really sweet, but it was actually the perfect level of sweetness that complemented the chocolate frosting.

Solid, for a vegan spot! The classic glazed was very good and we did like the apple fritter and Oreo. Cinnamon sugar was a little plain/ dry. Pricing is reasonable. Would recommend going early for the best selection! Gentleman behind counter was very nice - cute shop.

    Dunkaroos Vanilla Cream-Filled Donut

FOOD I've visited Dottie's a couple of times now, and it definitely hits the spot when you're craving a good, unique donut. The first time, I came in just after opening and was surprised how delicious the donuts were. I usually don't find vegan alternatives to be very appetizing, but these hit the spot. They were on par with Beiler's Donuts, fluffy, and not too sweet. I ordered the cinnamon bun and the greased pole (matcha dipped vanilla iced donut). Both were delicious, with the greased pole with the perfect amount of sweetness and interior consistency. The cinnamon bun had caramelized at the base, which was absolutely scrumptious, though I will say the icing can be a bit much if you eat the whole thing in one sitting. Since then, I've tried the Thai tea vanilla glazed donut and their popular Dunkaroos vanilla cream-filled donut. The Thai tea flavor wasn't really present for its titular flavor so I was disappointed there, but the Dunkaroos really hit the mark for what it was going for. It's a great specialty item to try once but it's not something I would seek to order again just since I'm not very drawn to the flavor. SERVICE The staff was friendly, and I have no complaints. AMBIANCE There's a couple seats inside the store, but it's more of a grab and go sort of place. If staying inside, it's a cozy spot to catch up with a friend. PARKING Paid street parking is available at a limited capacity.

First time at this location after being a frequent servicer of their West Philly location. Location: Cute, smaller, but with several seating options for those looking to sign in. Service: No complaints! Coffee station had the fixings plus oat milk for free use. Food: Went with a chocolate pistachio donut that truly did not taste "vegan" at all. Wish there was a stronger pistachio flavor to it but overall a highly satisfactory bite. Would revisit any time I'm back in Philly & eager to try their other rotating flavors and/or non-donut pastries.

    Apple Fritter

On my second day in Philly, I treated myself to a breakfast fit for champions: vegan donuts! Facing the delightful dilemma of choice, I ordered two tempting treats. The first, an Apple Fritter ($4.25), was delightful and delectable. Fresh, flavorful, and generously iced, it boasted hints of cinnamon and hearty chunks of apples. The size was impressive, nearly tempting me to devour it in two sittings, but I resisted the decoy. The second choice was the Staff's Choice Matcha Pistachio donut ($2.50). Though the donut itself was enjoyable, the pistachio flavor took a backseat to the dominating matcha. While the taste wasn't precisely what I expected, the donut was still a tasty indulgence. The overall experience left me eager to return during my next trip to Philly. If you're on the hunt for satisfying vegan treats, this spot is definitely worth a visit! *explore Philly's vegan delights, including my visit to Dottie's Donuts on my youtube channel! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gE6cC8dOv2U&t=1s

Recently, I found my chicken sandwich to be on the smaller side, looking almost like they accidentally used a tender instead of the usual breast (or half breast?). Today, I ordered an Early Bird breakfast sandwich (which did have a tender in it) and Hot Cocoa donut and they were really good. The smell of the sandwich permeates the air like a hot breakfast fresh off the grill. After I finished mine, I could smell the aroma of the sandwich on a freshly ordered one two seats away from me. The look and smell of the donuts makes me want not one but three, but I know that if I did that, I'd be fat as a house. The attention to detail on the little things really count and do get noticed. Take a look at the caps on the cups. Other restaurants can learn from this. Whatever caps they use on their fountain drinks... it's a phenomenal cap that won't pop off even when you squeeze the cup real hard. The branding on their cups, bags, and all around the store are sensational. Solomonov's team has done a great job on the logo. Now, I will say that there are some people who prefer the other type of donut - the fried dough donut - versus Federal Donut's cake donut. I sometimes flip back and forth between the two, but you can't dislike cake donuts. Each "Fancy" or "Classic" donut is like a little Bundt cake or cupcake. If you don't like cupcakes or Bundt cakes, you have no soul. Believe it or not, you can order a salad from Federal Donuts. There are two offered, but the stars of the show are the chicken sandwiches and the donuts. Go get them today!
