Tom was very kind and professional every time we interacted. He was also very patient with fluctuating plans, and any time mistakes were made he was eager to make sure they were corrected. Aside from Tom himself, his (I'm assuming foreman) Camillo was also fantastic; very thorough and thoughtful. As mentioned, we did have a handful of mistakes from subcontractors not following agreed upon plans precisely, or double-checking specific information, but Tom was always quick to make things right when this happened. Our project did also take significantly longer than estimated, but that was also partially due to miscommunication with our third party. Despite the small hiccups, it was overall a great working experience, and we are very pleased with our new bathroom! We just completed a renovation to our condominium that was involved and had a lot of detail work, i.e. new kitchen, removal of fireplace, creation of a new room, demolition of a wall, installation of decorative trim, electrical and painting work etc. Tom and his various employees and subcontractors handled all the work excellently. He was incredibly responsive, texting back almost immediately to our questions. We were away for much of the renovation, but trusted Tom completely while we were away to make sure things got done. I was referred to Tom through an interior designer who has worked with him for awhile, and he did not disappoint. We converted a closet into a half bathroom / powder room in December 2022, which required permitting, moving an existing wall and pipes, brand new plumbing, and obviously finishes. Tom and his various team members were professional, polite, thorough, and transparent. Most importantly, they did quality work that looks great. I was responsible for ordering the general materials - sink, toilet, tile, etc. and it felt like that was common with other contractors I spoke with. I really appreciated that, when something looked finished, Tom or someone else would come by to double check, and if they didn't like the work (painting, grout, etc.) they would call back the person who did it to update it. I also appreciated it that when an unexpected charge came up from the plumbers, due to an unexpected pipe, Tom sent me their invoice to show that he wasn't upcharging me anything. The Team at Double 88 Construction did an exceptional job on our home. We added a bathroom and bedroom, but we also needed to remove and move the old bathroom. It essentially was 2 new bedrooms, 2 new bathrooms and a bedroom remodel. Tom was professional from our first meeting. He offered a 3D model of our plans and it looked great. The final finish was even better. We had six bids and Toms was reasonable, but more importantly for us, he was the contractor and the person we talked to the whole time. There was never a question left unanswered and any issues(thankfully there were very few) were fixed with a phone call or text. One of the best parts, is we didn't have to vacate our home while the construction was happening. The project was done in the time allotted and was done 100% to our expectations.
