Can here tonight on a Friday night and I got to say amazing. It was fantastic and fun. It was a bachelor party for my brother. This place is in the middle of the gaslight district across the street from the Airbnb. Inside there was a bar, as well as karaoke. It was fun as we did multiple songs. There was no food, but lots of beverages. The service was great. They even have a QR code so we can lick a song so we can pick to sing. Since I rocked it, I decided to sing another My brother did linkin park while I did 3 songs. Iris, bring me to life, and all the small things ft my brother It was a wonderful night and staff, security and the employee in the restrooms did great. We stopped into Double Deuce with another couple one night while staying downtown for a staycation weekend. Obviously, we are not the Double Deuce targeted demographic, but we still had a pretty damn good time. Drinks were good, service was good and the (mostly 20+ years our junior) crowd was a lot of fun. Malik hooked it up with bottle service and was super easy to work with on prices and getting exactly what my big party needed. This was the second night the girls and I went out so we wanted a chill but super fun environment where we can dance. Our bottle service area had a nice view of the mechanical bull and its riders and definitely enough room for us to dance. There were 24 of us. Our bottle server lady was so nice too. So I have been here multiple times and it always sounds like the same playlist, or what's "trendy" and by that I mean what's on the top tik tok songs but tbh feels like the same 10 songs songs, drinks are fine normal price for downtown but def wish they would switch the dj to play better muck instead of the same songs over and over, mind you there are many songs like on tik of cars, some new lady Gaga or some bad bunny jus something new but until the. We were in town for work looking for a unique downtown San Diego experience. We were met with intrigue when seeing the sign for Double Duce. We were met at the entrance with welcoming grace by CJ, an incredible door man. Passing through the entrance we felt like we were stepping into an establishment of the sorts only found in the Jewel City of Nashville "Music City" Tennessee. High expectations were set and quickly exceeded by the comforting country sounds of a place like home . The understandable feeling that it could never get better was blown away when we immediately feel under the spell of Becca. If I could put her magic and beauty mixed with impeccable service into a jewel she is no less than the Hope Diamond. Trust no hope is needed here. Super fun bar. I dont drink very much and was still able to enjoy myself relatively sober! There is the classic bar area, and there's a lower deck with a mechanical bull that opens a bit later. The bull was so much fun (it was about $10 for 2 songs). The bartenders were knowledgeable, the ladies are super flirty and very pretty, and the area despite being packed in like sardines later in the night was kept clean. The wait to get inside can get LONG the later into the night you go, but there was no wait or cover prior to 9pm. The music will vary drastically, from country to KPOP to Latin music. This place was a HUGE disappointment. We paid $50 for my daughter and daughter in law to ride the bull. It was my daughter's 21st birthday and we thought it would be so fun to get her on the bull. We waited and waited and waited. It was completely disorganized and the people running it kept letting others cut in front of our girls. We eventually had to leave for reservations we had elsewhere and they refused to refund our money. It felt like a complete SCAM. The only saving grace to this place was that the bartenders were RAD. This is a nice little bar located in the Gaslamp District. It sufferers from the Gaslamp parking issues of having limited metered street parking nearby or pricey commercial lots/garages. The staff there is very nice and the bartenders are awesome. They have lots of energy and even dance on top of the bar. They run happy hour special there and even though they do not directly serve food, there is a pizza joint connected to it. The dress code is casual and you do not have to dress in western wear. The bar has two sections. The first area is where you will find the main bar. There is seating around the bar which is full service. They also have a DJ booth and a small stage over there as well. The other side is the fun side. There are a couple of smaller bars over there, as well as corn hole boards, a small dance area, a mechanical bull, and beer pong tables. They were playing hip-hop music over on that side. That area opens up a bit later then the main bar side, if it even opens. The cost to ride the bull varies depending on the night that you go. I went on a Wednesday and it was just $1. I was there for karaoke night. Their karaoke set-up is awesome. You request a song and place your name in the que by scanning a QR code. It was very simple and easy to do. Their drinks are reasonable priced and were pretty good. I enjoyed my time there. It was a fun time and everyone was having a blast. I recommend checking this place out if you are looking for a low key good time while you are in downtown San Diego. read more

While waiting in line the bride stepped away to use the bathroom and returned right after everyone else in line was understanding and had no issues with her getting her spot back. But the rude girls working the desk to ride the bull still sent her to the back of the line! Cowboy theme bar with a mechanical bull attraction which you can see from the outside windows and people would line up to get a taste of it, that's the main part for you to come here, they do check IDs at the door so you can't just squeeze your way in, even if you just want to ride the bull, you still have to access thru the bar, I think you have to pay entry admission for the bull riding and majority of them are girls, so the line will take a bit of time to get thru, a lot of them are drunk, but just for the sake of fun, I wouldn't mind, appreciate the help from the person who behind the bull control panel, he helped shaking those people off the bull faster :) read more

The place seemed okay, it has karaoke where people only were singing country (fitting for a country bar), and a mechanical bull. My friend rode the bull and got a free shot while one it because we were celebrating her birthday. The security guy checking IDs was rude to us. He gave us a lot of attitude when trying to enter and just was making by a lot of comments under his breath. It took us awhile to get served, but we got drinks. The bartender was nice. The girl running the mechanical bull was nice and we were telling her about the bouncer and she said "oh yeah, he hates all of us too and doesn't treat anyone of color well." Wow!! Very upfront with it and the fact that his coworkers were speaking poorly of him too was a huge tell-tale. A positive, the bathrooms were well-maintained. Came here over the weekend with some friends/old coworkers to bar hop and celebrate a bachelorette. This place was so fun. They had really good country music playing when you walk in by the bar area and then they had good hip hop/r&b music playing in the back where the mechanical bull was at. My work had our annual Christmas Party just a few blocks away. I managed to get 30-40 of us to Double Deuce on a Friday night. We arrived after 10pm and were immediately treated to an area upstairs just for us over looking the mechanical bull area. There is a super convenient bar upstairs that allowed for all of us to order as we pleased. On top of all of that, the bottle service options they provided was awesome and the service girls were all very nice! The music was great all night and ambiance was immaculate! I had an extremely disappointing experience with the staff during a bridal party I booked. Upon arrival, we were approached by a man named Matt who was collecting Venmo payments for wristbands. This raised concerns, as it seemed unprofessional and unclear why payments were not being directed to the company itself. Additionally, we received conflicting information from another individual who told us there was no entry fee--despite almost paying nearly $200 to enter. This lack of communication and transparency was frustrating. The most upsetting part of the evening involved a staff member, a woman wearing a brown jacket, and a woman with wide-open eyes. When the bride stepped away briefly to use the restroom after waiting in line for 30 minutes to ride the mechanical bull, this employee rudely told her "I don't care get your ass to the back of the line". Her tone and attitude were unnecessarily disrespectful and seemed intentionally hostile toward our group. This behavior visibly upset the bride, who felt singled out and disrespected. Furthermore, this same employee later told security that the bride had yelled in her face, which was simply untrue and seemed like an attempt to escalate the situation unnecessarily. The very petite bride was clearly not a threat. Later she was surrounded by security guards which leads me to think this worker does this often. Then the man controlling the bull was going to let the bride ride on it and I saw the other female worker mouth "NO" and shook her finger at him. The staff member's behavior caused a scene, and security ultimately removed us after we expressed frustration. I told one of the security guards and he said "It doesn't matter if the employee disrespects you we have to be on their side" To be clear, we were cooperative until repeated instances of disrespect left us feeling mistreated. This venue lacked basic customer service, and the dismissive attitude of both the employees and security staff made it clear that they were not concerned with the guest experience. Unfortunately, this situation tainted what should have been a special night. I would not recommend this establishment for private events or group gatherings, particularly for those expecting professionalism, respect, and organized service. If I could give zero stars I would. Love, love, loveeee this place! Tried out this bar while staying in the area. The first night we came here it felt like we were back home in our own hometown bar. We loved the rodeo feel to the place and liked that they had karaoke. Some really good singers in the place too. Then! Right next door and through a small hallway they have another area that places the latest hits and they have bull riding. One night in this bar and we were hooked. We kept going back to that bar night after night until it was time to go back home. Definitely a place to check out while downtown. My cousin and I visited the Gaslamp district for the first time and we were not ready for the amount of commotion on this Saturday night! lol We took a lime scooter from Little Italy and it was very rowdy the entire way there. We arrived at Double Deuce around 1am after we saw people riding an electric bull through the glass window. There wasn't a huge crowd, but it was full of energy! We didn't buy drinks or anything so I can't comment on the service, but the ambience was pretty dope. Once we entered there was a bar to the left and country music was blasted. We went further in and turned right through this hallway and the music changed to 90's rnb/hip hop. It fit the vibe for the bill riding activity. Everyone was crowded around and cheering for those who made an attempt. We could see the guy controlling the bull. He was pretty gentle when it was a girls turn, and he would make it challenging for the guys lol. He was an entertaining host. Encouraged competition and really hyped people up. It was super fun. After a long night of passing between different spots in Gaslamp my friend and I stopped at the Double Deuce. I had heard a lot about this country bar downtown. It's known for having two separate rooms and a mechanical bull. I was expecting country music when I walked in, and as soon as I entered, it hit me. The song was familiar, an oldie but a goodie. I walked over to the far side of the bar and sat with my friend. There was someone singing at the far side, of the room, off-key and jarring. It was karaoke night! The music was a mix, old country and new, peppered with random hip hop and the occasional pop song, also old and new. Every fourth song or so was karaoke. The room was supportive and good-natured.
