Great club !!! Great energy and the service was amazing ! Will definitely come back to Spin nightclub

A tried and true venue that I have learned has been around for 20+ years and the inside still very much looks the same lol. Spin is a pretty iconic club for hosting some of the biggest EDM acts throughout their time of existence. This space is a real one in that it is all about the music. From two floors in the main room, a side room with an extra dj spinning, and a rooftop -- you have to make it a point to explore around. Drink prices were pretty fair although it was a bit odd they stopped serving liquor on the top floor well before 2am. Bathrooms are a bit of a clusterf*@k as they only have one set of bathrooms for the entire venue on the second floor. The lines were always long and I don't even think it's city compliant lol. All in all, glad we got to check out MK here but it wouldn't be my go-to venue for shows. read more

Spin is a great place, probably one of the best clubs in SD. If someone you like is DJing there, you should go. The indoor section varies between a 3-4 star experience depending on the night, but the rooftop is always an amazing experience. Even when sold out, the rooftop is still spacious and comfortable. Please take notes other venues (looking at you Nova and Bloom)! My only complaint is please offer free water, it's unsafe not to do so. read more

Decent sound system but the bass was boosted way too much, killed the overall energy. Environment was atrocious, way too hot and zero airflow. The walls and countertops were literally covered in hot condensation, which raises some pretty serious environmental health concerns considering much of the club structure is made of wood. Water is $5 for a bottle, which isn't illegal, but is a greedy choice on the clubs end and hazardous for patrons for multiple reasons. This place hosts a lot of great shows you would miss otherwise so enjoy the show but prepare accordingly. read more

I go to a lot of music events and Spin does DnB events. It's a decent venue with pretty good air, unless there's a lot of people here. If there's a lot of people, it's hard to dance or even breathe. They have two dance floors, one on the ground floor and the other on the second floor. The second floor doesn't have much dance space in the room and has some obstacles in it as well. They have basic drinks and can't make anything fancy, like an old fashioned. read more

Have been here twice now and both times had a good experience. Place is decently sized and it's nice when the rooftop is open. Downside is price of drinks. $15 for a single vodka soda is wild. Definitely recommend preparing yourself to drop some money if you plan on drinking while you are there. Bartender was really nice and they moved the line along quickly at the bar. Dance floor can get really crowded so bring a fan if you get hot, it saved my friend and I's night for sure. Parking is on the street but super easy to get an uber there and back. Feedback at the rooftop bar. Great DJs. 3 rooms with all different genres and worth the entry price. Located closer tot eh airport in a 3 story building. All ages. Everyone included and dress code is pretty chill. The closet thing to a real club that I've seen in SD. Well done. Spin is the perfect example of the run-of-the-mill nightclub. It's overcrowded near the DJ, the music plays at deafening levels, and the bathrooms are in need of a clean up. To be fair, anyone who goes clubbing should always have these expectations by default but man, it's REALLY overcrowded on the main stage. if you don't mind an obscure view of the DJ and would rather vibe only to the music, the second floor can give you a breather, but keep in mind that people line up for the bathroom on this floor as well. I will say, I appreciated the attitudes of the people around me. Despite everyone being super packed in on the main stage, they were generally very considerate of other people's space (other than one drunk loser that I repeatedly had to push away from my group). As a Houstonian, I don't see that consideration often which is why I generally avoid clubs unless my friends really want to go to one. I came here specifically to see Matroda and he was phenomenal. The strobe lights, lasers, and overall sound distribution of the venue supported his performance very well. I wouldn't come back on a regular club night, but at least I'd be around cordial people if I did. As a reminder, make sure to bring earplugs! Permanent hearing loss is real and common. read more

The layout of the building is a little confusing at first but they have multiple bathrooms, the bartenders are quick and attentive and the multiple stages make for a cool experience. This place is practically my church! I come every year for Sabbath. The people are always the best, no judgement at all - you get to be yourself and let everything else go. The sound is almost always eqed and it bumps! Make sure to check them out for a multitude of events if you are in to drum and bass, house, industrial, etc. I have been coming for almost half my life and I won't stop any time soon. read more

Spin is the local nightclub to hear some DJs spinning their tunes. The drinks are a bit on the pricey side but this is a nightclub after all. They used to be known for the last place in San Diego that was open till 4am but they have since lost that privilege and must close at 2am now. It usually doesn't get too crowded unless a well known famous DJ is playing that night. Parking is plentiful and easy on the street. read more

I only ever come here during CRSSD weekend because it's the venue that usually has the biggest names that I want to see and is also the only venue of the lot that is open until 4 am. But there is no way to get around it, Spin is definitely my personal house of horrors and I only still come here because of those two reasons. Let's start with the layout, which is awful and literally makes no sense. Outside of Las Vegas, this may quite possibly be the worst designed club I've ever been to. Narrow corridors everywhere. Insanely crowded dance floor. Stairs everywhere for some god damn reason. Trying to get outside here is a massive pain in the ass, especially if they close the rooftop (which is the only good thing the club has going on for it). I literally get massive anxiety just from having to deal with all the people that I have to push through here...it really makes it not fun. Also continuing on with the design of the club...it's pretty garbage in all honesty. Literally no visuals at all. The place looks rundown as hell. It's like whoever runs Spin is doing the absolute bare minimum to get by. And if CRSSD keeps putting big acts here, why would they bother putting any money into here? I will give them this, their sound system is banging. Almost too banging, because every time I came here it would contribute to my massive anxiety. Ok, that's on me for not investing in earplugs, which I finally did. Shockingly, it makes a difference! Only reason I was FINALLY able to have a good time the last time I came here was that I intentionally waited to get here until 2 am when people had already left and my friends managed to take over the entire left side of the dance floor. As much I hate this place, I know I'll have to come back again. Can someone please start up another place that is open until 4 am so CRSSD moves all the acts over there? read more

I'm always willing to pay good money $ for cocktails & shots. And I'm always one to tip even when just asking for a glass of water.... Spin however wont give people glasses of water. They will only charge you $5+ for a water. This is absurd, greedy, and dangerous!!!! Coming from someone who would normally tip for a glass of water between shots / cocktails, I find it extremely distasteful that this establishment won't even give out water and will only charge $$$ for every water request. The bartenders are rude as well with an attitude problem. If they're going to rip people off on behalf of their management, they could atleast do it with a smile. Oh and the worst part is that these shady bartenders at spin won't even give the change back after charging for WATER! They just pocket it all as tip after ripping you off on water like they are entitled to an extra $5-15 for giving a glass of water. Happened twice with 2 different bartenders. Asked for water, they said that'd be $5; once I have $10 and the male bartender just smirked and didn't give change. Then happened again with a female bartender who didn't give change for a $20. Spin nightclub is a joke of its former self. It's dirty, disgusting and the sound system isn't what it used to be either. A few years ago, this club was popping. Great female - male ratio, the sound was bumpin, men & women patrons were attractive, there was a line to get in, the second floor bar and rooftop bar was always open. These days only the first floor area is open and half empty. Full on sausage fest of older creepy ugly ass dudes too. Hardly any girls. They don't even stay open until 4AM anymore like they used to. Maybe this is why they rip you off on water between cocktails and steal all your change... they're desperate these days. There isn't even anywhere to sit anymore. When they used to have the rooftop deck / bar open there were seats to take a break. Nope no longer, now that they are so sad and depressing to only have the first floor able to be open; they don't have a single place to sit for a second. I cannot recommend Spin whatsoever! this place is trash these days. Dirty, 2/3 empty, subpar sound, zero bass in their sound system just high scratchy screachy sounds, not female enticing girls must not like the atmosphere cuz the crowd is nothing but gnarly ugly ass dudes, the bartenders are rude af, the bar rips you off, and it's not even open late night anymore. It's dark, the lights are flickering, and you can feel your heart beat with the bass that reverberates throughout the room. You wander around, only to be amazed at how big the place is and can't help but be a giddy kid who is going on an exploring adventure....And that is me, in a nutshell, as I came here for an afterparty after CRSSD. Came to Spin for some sexy techno music and overall, had a great time here :) Check in line (bought my ticket in advance) + security check was a breeze, drinks here are ok (a bit weak IMO), and with three levels, it was fun to explore around. If you're the type who likes the underground / warehouse vibe for clubs, Spin does a decent job. On the main floor (1st fl.), the dance pit does get pretty cramped. However, there are areas you can stand around the pit and get a good view of the DJs who play on an elevated platform. Walk up to the second level, where there's an open smoking area + bar + mini dance floor/2nd room. And boy, this second room is SMALL. And hot. Get in early if you want to dance, cuz otherwise, it can get cozy with people. Given the small area, music / sound quality here = really good, better than the main stage. Finally, if the music has worn you out, go upstairs to the 3rd floor where there is a rooftop bar and chill. I guess I know where to party next year after CRSSD ends :) read more

Probably one of the worst experiences I've had at a nightclub. Very narrow corridors; it's musty, dark, and the music is very subpar. You would get better ambiance at a high school house party. I would hate for a fire to catch in this place and see everybody trying to funnel out through the front door. The crowd is a lot of younger folks which is ok, but don't even get me started on the drinks. In addition to the price gouged bar, the bartender with short blonde hair was extremely rude. Very discourteous of her to deliberately serve everybody else standing at the bar and blatantly ignore me, all because I tipped her 10% instead of 15%. It's not like you're making me a complex cocktail. You are simply pouring bottom quality, overpriced Wells liquor into a cup and handing it to me; stop expecting so much for such subpar service. Maybe if you were nicer I would be obliged to tip you more. Don't waste your money or your weekend here, you're better off hitting Firehouse in PB. $25 for a double shot of Wells is ridiculous. read more

This place has no ventilation, charges for water, and has fleas. Went to see a popular DJ, and while the DJ was great, the flea bites around my ankles in the club were not it for me. Didn't dare use the restroom so can't comment on that. It was probably 85 degrees inside and everyone was drenched in sweat. Not my fav venue. read more

So, this place is in the shadiest of shady areas... wedged directly between the freeway and the train tracks behind the airport. In broad daylight, I wouldn't even know it existed. Once inside however, (past the less than friendly and enthusiastic staff at the front ticket area) you seemingly enter a whole new world. No, i'm not saying you're looking at the rooftops of buildings from the skies of Agrabah, HOWEVER--This place is pretty rad. 3 stories of fun for everyone. First floor encompasses a "dance pit" where others can look down at you as they sip on increasingly pricey alcoholic beverages....Second floor holds a balcony which also looks down on the pit of dancers, but has the bathroom and another bar in close proximity. (On opposite sides of the building of course!) And last but not least, the rooftop. Minibar, hookah and fire pits. What more could you possibly ask for on a friday or saturday night under the beautiful san diego sky? I was struggling between a 4 or a 3 star rating for a few reasons. I settled with a 3 for the horrible lack of parking and location. Aside from that however, I had a very pleasant experience. Music was good, facility as a whole wasn't as grimy as it looked like from the outside, and the drinks though not half bad, were however, overpriced. i'm going to have to say that in all my "clubbing" experience, SPIN has by far offered me more bang for my buck... you can't beat live entertainment, and 3 levels of unpredictable fun. I mean really... you just cant... and so with that being said... despite my current 3 star rating I do in fact look forward to going back and exploring things a little more. Care to dance? read more

Yikes - I am sorry but this place is absolutely no go. On a Saturday night we had to pay $35 just to get in! Bars and prestigious nightclubs in downtown do not charge that much for cover. Ok, I decided to give it a try. There was the deepest house music playing in fairly empty club with a rough crowd. I spent there less than an hour and decided to call it a night around 1:30am. On my way out I was literally by the door when the cashier lady started yelling at me that exit door is on the other side (I was walking out from entrance). With no clear marking and me being half a feet away from that door at that point, I mentioned that I was literally right there and wearing high heels. The girl then just laughed and said out loud (to nobody?) "just let her go she is so wasted", which I really was not. I attempted to have a rational conversation with this cashier but then decided it was not worth my time. Terrible, terrible customer service, awfully overprice and garbage music and crowd. Please avoid and run as far as you can from this place read more

It was disappointing to arrive at the door today at 2 AM and being charged $60 for cover, especially when there is no alcohol involved. This was not right and should never happen. Our community should not be taken advantage of because there are festivals happening in the city. Unorganized, miscommunication between vip and guest list service person. Our friends DJ and we were on the VIP list and can show up when it's their turn to play and they tried to make us pay $30 at the door, they didn't have the guest list and had no idea there were two separate lists. We drove all the way to see our friends DJ and they cut their set super super short, they were supposed to play until 2am and cut them off at 1:30am and the clubs excuse was were trying to close early. Don't have people come out to play and then cut their set short that's really messed up. read more

The security did absolutely nothing, the front desk said ''sorry that happens'', security next to the dance floor didn't want to do anything when I pointed out where the thieves were, the owner refused to show the video recordings saying that ''the videos are encrypted''. Not a totally bad club but honestly paying $25 to attend the Brazilian Carnival to find out that the place is kind of rundown, plus the musicians did not even seem very happy to be there...hum, no thanks. Also, no drinks included with the entry ticket. I found the dancers were not engaging the audience, just dancing with their own friends gathered there to cheer them up. I am glad I went with a large group of girlfriends, so we can have our own fun (it was supposed to be a constantly entertaining event, but I found it pretty boring and not to compare to the Brazilian carnivals of the legendary 4th&B. On the good side, the parking was easy as this is located in a more secluded/industrial area close to the airport. Oh, if you are a woman looking to meet guys, avoid this type of event, 90% are women looking for the same as you. Zero romance, not even dance. read more

Avoid this place like the plague. Absolutely no responsibility for their actions and fails at basic customer care. While taking the staircase down to the ground level, one of the bouncers on the 2nd level tipped over a garbage can full of liquid and trash. The whole can drenched me and covered me in complete garbage water. I went upstairs to inspect and see if it's vomit and the bouncer just said "oh". No apologies, no solace, and just said that bathroom is in the back. The only person to offer any assistance for their mistake was the bathroom attendant, at least he helped provide paper towels. If you want to enjoy your night and stay dry, definitely avoid this place. read more

SCAM ALERT: Spin supports ticket scammers on their instagram by deleting comments of people warning others of scams! I was looking for tickets for a show and saw a comment saying "tickets available," I then replied "just sent you a DM." After communicating with the seller privately via DM and verifying the tickets were "real", I sent my money. I then noticed my original comment was deleted. I realized I had been scammed and posted warning comments (along with my friends) and Spin deleted every comment of ours, while keeping the scammer's "available tickets" comments up. There's no way our comments could disappear without a Spin admin deleting them. I never leave negative reviews but want to warn others, stay safe!!:) read more

Staff and locals are nice. Wouldnt recommended this place to anyone over 25. The music is pretty bland and souless. Entree price ($35) and drinks are steep ($15 avg) for really subpar DJ performance. If im really being honest id be ashamed to be a DJ working here. Atm fee is also $6.00 and entrance fee only accepts cash while bartenders accept cards. read more

Three words: Sketchy. As. Hell. The area it's in? Sketchy. The staff? Sketchy. The crowd? Sketchy. The disgrace that they have the audacity to call bottle service? SO sketchy. There are no ropes dividing tables so it's just a free for all, NO security monitoring who has access to the tables (resulting in my friend getting roofied), NOWHERE to sit AND even if all of the above were present, I would still consider it overpriced compared to other SD clubs. The only benefit is that they're open really late but we didn't spend more than 45 minutes in the building because it was so bad. read more

By far one of the best edm and electronic venues in San Diego. The staff... amazing, Ally, Callie, and the crew there have kept me a patron for many years. I'm actually kinda shocked by the reviews because I've never had a bad time here. If your into nightlife, edm, dancing, this is paradise. Super cool night club I came across in San Diego. Every bar and club in town closes at 2am but this one is open until 4-5am. I think it's the only one in town that does. The night we went you had to pay for the event. Not sure if you always have to pay. Definitely for those into EDM music. The place has different styles to it, with different sections and music. Spin is the best! It is a one of a kind nightclub in San Diego that always plays a variety of house style music. We went last weekend to see one of our favorite DJs Cloonee and had a blast running up and down all 3 floors of the nightclub! Christine the bartender took such great care of us, giving us quick service with a big smile! Would 10/10 recommend to anyone looking to have a great time on the weekend! They're also open after hours which is awesome. read more
