It's hard to get a bad meal in a Chinese restaurant, but Double Dragon manages it. Tired food, with a few generic sauces; reminds me of the Cantonese restaurants of my childhood, only worse. Pork fried rice managed to be both dry and greasy. Duck was like leather. I really wanted to like this place, but I was disappointed. The food was bland and lacked flavor, and our waitress forgot several of the items we ordered. The fried rice was especially disappointing it was extremely dark, tasted like it had been drowned in soy sauce, and was way too salty. Unfortunately, this wasn't a place I'd come back to. read more

My sister and I went to have lunch on 4-16-2026. There were 3 other people. We had two specials, one tiny glass of wine for $7.00. The Boneless spareribs were dry and burnt. The Beef Terriyaki was hard to chew, the rice was dry and very dark. I ordered take out before I finished my lunch. Big mistake. Boneless Spareribs were burnt, Crab Rangoon had been fried in old grease. Pork Egg Foo young was burnt around the edges and on one side and very little gravy. I tried a little of my takeout and ended up throwing it in the trash. The Bill was $87.55 with the tip of $15.00 the total amount was $102.55 which was a waste of money. Neith one of us finished our lunch it was so bad. I will never return. read more

Beautiful restaurant but the food was subpar. The Lo Mein noodles were over cooked to the of mush and the shrimp was canned as were the mushrooms in a flavorless sauce. My husband ordered sweet and sour pork and said it tasted like some of it was chicken. We had a highly humorous experience here where uncovering each dish was a new and unfortunate surprise. Found out quickly upon every dish appearing at the table at once. Not even being offered drinks. Zero rice to be seen, unless of course you solely ordered fried rice. Don't even get me started on the "Fried Chicken with Pineapple" in some sort of gooey "gravy." It's Chinese food.... Sort of. Okay, it's not that great, but we live in east Brewster, and sometimes we just want some Chinese food close by. So we go from time to time. It's worth it, but don't expect too much. Most of the dishes are just okay, missing many of the flavors we remember from our decades in New York. If you're on vacation, don't waste your time. If you live here, and you want Chinese food close by, this is the place. If you would be just as happy with Thai food, the Bangkok Thai restaurant is pretty good. Oh, one great thing about the Double Dragon.... The mixed drinks and martinis are quite a bit cheaper than most local restaurants, the staff are nice, and you can eat outside in the summer and enjoy the view looking over water. read more

Food was just okay and they don't give you rice with the meal like every other Chinese restaurant. You have to order and pay extra for rice and they don't make this apparent. So we ordered food and discovered later there was no rice and had to drive back to the restaurant to get rice. Ridiculous! Would not recommend this place. read more

Our annual summer visit to the DD did not disappoint. Friendly, attentive staff and shareable, delicious food makes for a great meal. Our large group enjoyed the egg rolls, crab rangoons, Moo Goo Gai Pan, Chicken Chow Mein, Tangerine Beef and Broccoli, and Roast Pork Fried Rice. Entrees are not served with rice so order white or fried rice to share if you prefer it. We had leftovers to bring home for lunch the next day - entrees are large servings. Pupu platter$27 for 3 wings,3 onion rings(?), 2 egg rolls and boneless meat that had a mystery sauce. Lobster chow mein, $24 lobster (2) pieces in a brown soupy sauce with a small side of chow main vegetable General Tsao Chicken, no broccoli and no spice. It was more like sesame chicken without the sesame seeds. Veggie Fried rice with canned mushrooms?? Egg rolls had weird diced meat. We didn't know what it was so we didn't eat them. We have eaten here in past years and are trying to support local restaurants during this time. Double Dragon offers "traditional" Chinese food. Nothing fancy. Just the basics. It should have really tasty food. Unfortunately, they don't execute well and the food runs the gamut of barely passable to almost inedible. We ordered several items including egg rolls, beef short ribs (boneless), won ton soup, chow mein, egg fu young, and fried rice, and we sampled most everything and then threw it all out. The egg rolls looked promising but they had a weird mystery meat inside and no bean sprouts or other vegetables. The short ribs had the consistency of very smoked meat and they did not have a beefy flavor. The won ton soup looked extremely dark (and not a clear broth - like chicken broth) and we couldn't bring ourselves to sample it. The chow mein looked ok but the vegetables were stringy and hard to chew. But, all was not completely lost because the egg fu young was passable as was the fried rice - except some of the ingredients in the fried rice tasted strange (like sanitizer during the pandemic). We hoped for a better experience at Double Dragon but that did not happen and we would not recommend this restaurant. read more

Exactly what we were looking for for a date night! We started with the Scorpion bowl for two, which was delicious and definitely enough where both of us didn't need a second drink haha. The crab Rangoon appetizer was sincerely some of the best rangoons I've ever had! The roast pork lo mein was delicious as well, not too greasy and the pork wasn't super fatty or anything, very good! My boyfriend ate all of the general tsos we ordered before I could get to it haha, but I think that speaks to the yumminess. Cheapskates and Gross! Plain and simple. Picked up three lunch combos. When we got home and opened the containers we were surprised at how little food there was. General Tsao's chicken was a small portion which was tough and sweet. No spice. Egg foo young was literally one small patty! What's the deal? Afraid you may have to shell out another .40 cents worth of food for a second patty? If that wasn't bad enough, it was watery. Oh well, at least it was served up in a nice coagulated glop of slop sauce. Lo Mien wasn't bad I admit but again, a pittance of a serving. If these folks had any business savvy beyond the brilliant idea of "Hey, if we give people less food, we can save a few cents per meal and pocket the difference"!! they would be smart enough to make it up by giving a good amount of rice to give the illusion that you got a good deal. However, nothing doing because after all, one portion of rice must cost a restaurant a good .5 cents right? Then they threw in some weird chop suey crap with little scraps of chicken. About a third of a cups worth. I should have realized the HUGE red flag when none of the lunch combos came with an egg roll. I've eaten Chinese food from coast to coast and this is the first place that doesn't include an egg roll! What, are they convinced that egg rolls will become the next bit coin and they're hoarding them? Sheesh.... At the end of the ah... "meal".... we were all arguing on who gets to take home the yummy leftovers. I'm surprised a fist fight didn't break out. Oh and not that its a big deal but the cashier was eating food as she was handling the transaction. No doubt she ordered from the restaurant down the street. Now I was going to suggest that they rename their place the "Double Pig Slop Inn" but remember everyone, pig slop is served in generous portions so that won't work... read more

I've been going to the double D as it was affectionately called for at the least 42 years. It was always constantly good. You could have eaten off any surface in that kitchen when the previous owners had it .. what they did worked for YEARS !! Not many restaurants last that long . Some workers bought it and instantly changed the recipes to bland, dry just terrible food. The restaurant you bought worked for a very long time ... why. Why. Why change a great thing ?????? The worst Chinese food I've ever had. The food has absolutely no flavor. None of the dishes are authentic to what Chinese food should be. Even most American Chinese restaurants have more authenticity. I complained to the manager and he was extremely rude and never apologized. Instead he tried to argue with me and say that it was a busy day when in fact the whole restaurant was empty. The beef teriyaki tasted like straight sugar and it was a skewer for some reason. Came with no veggies and no teriyaki sauce which is significantly atypical. The fried rice had no flavor and i couldn't even taste the soy sauce. How do you miss soy sauce on fried rice? The sweet and sour chicken was fried in the most inauthentic paste I've ever tasted. I agree with another reviewer that the fried dishes tasted like donuts. It didn't even look chicken and the sauce was barely drizzled on top. Every dish was around 15-17$ at least and for this quality I was extremely disappointed and ripped off. Do NOT come here if you expect good service and any sort of authentic Asian cuisine. read more
