I would give ZERO stars if possible. The owner of this company, "J", employs dishonest business practices and I will be reporting him to the BBB. J originally quoted me $225 to have my disabled car towed to a local repair shop. I told him that I preferred to wait until morning so that I could speak to my insurance company about coverage. He stressed that as long as I had coverage, my insurance would "cover everything". So against my better judgement, I agreed to let him tow my car to his lot. What I didn't realize was that J was roping me into paying for two tows, one to his lot and then another from his lot to the repair shop. Then to boot, because he was out of the country for a few days, we couldn't get the details worked out with my insurance company and the car wasn't towed to the repair shop for 3 days. Long story short, I get a bill for $650. He was charging me for 2 tows @ $225 each, along with 4 days of storage @ $50/day. After paying the bill (what choice did I have?), I submitted the receipt to my insurance company who promptly rejected the claim stating that they only cover a single tow and don't cover any storage fees. This meant that they would only be reimbursing me for $225. So much for J's claim that my insurance company would "cover everything". When I called J back to discuss, he gave me nothing but attitude stating that I was being rude to him. I mean, what did he expect after blatantly lying to me and tricking me into paying for 2 tows? I will say this about J. While my experience with him was terrible, my couple of phone calls with his son, J Jr. were nothing but pleasant. J Jr. was respectful and polite and apologized several times on behalf of his father. I think pops should take some pointers from his son on how run a business IMHO. read more

We used Double J Towing on Tuesday when one of our vehicles battery died. We called Geico to be assigned a tow company. After we received a confirmation for a company I went out to check the reviews and they were AWFUL on every social media forum. I found Double J's in a different search. I called Geico back and asked if they could switch us to them. Geico called Double J's and checked to see if they could offer us service. They confirmed they would accept payment from Geico and gave us a quicker ETA than the first company. They showed up on time!! Mr. Jesse was nice, thorough, honest and reasonable. His assistance was above and beyond the call of duty. We have found our FIRST call for situations such as these. read more

If I could double it and give 10 stars I would. I had a company car that wouldn't start & I was pretty sure it needed a new battery. But because of the (stupid) vehicle design, it was REALLY hard to get to, so I was going to have the car towed to a repair shop to have the battery replaced. Seriously.....you have to remove the entire air filter compartment to get to it! Anyway, not being familiar with any towing companies, I turned to my fellow helpers & found some great (although limited) reviews for Double J so I called. Jay answered & when I told him the problem, he says "well I sell batteries too, so I'll just bring one with me & I can change it at your office and you won't have to pay for a tow." WOW!!!! He not only came with the battery, but spent around 2 hours working on it, THEN followed me to the gas station to fill it up to be sure I didn't have any more trouble with it. And the price was amazing! Really just a little more than what the cost of the battery would've been. Then to top it off, he checked back with me the next day to make sure the car was doing ok. Seriously, if you need a tow or need a battery replaced (he's trying to build this part of his business do help him out!) give him a call! read more

The Only company we call!!! Whenever anyone in my family needed to be towed, Double J Towing & Transport was always my first call. Their number is locked into all of our phones! Each time we needed a tow, no matter the time of day or night, Jay would make sure that we were safe until he was able to get to us. He was always prompt, professional, and very courteous. I was visiting Maryland for the weekend and unfortunately needed to replace our tire with a spare and, though it was drizzling outside, Jay came to our car within the timeline he gave us and replaced it with ease. He also noticed our spare tire had gone flat. To go over and beyond, he left the scene and purchased an air compressor so he could fill air in that spare tire. I hope I never need roadside assistance in Maryland again but, if i do, I'll be calling Jay and his team for help! read more

Jay was so professional and on time. We were disappointed by another company who came with the wronf equipment and Geico sent Double J Towing instead. Our car couldnt start for months and with Jay's patience and knowledge he got it started. In plus, he transported through DC narrow streets so easily. We were amazed how he manuevered the truck with no problem. It was a very tight space. Moving forward, we will request Double J Towing when working with Geico. They met our need. read more

Fast service, changed the flat tire quickly. Cost me $70 for changing the flat tire with spare. Price seems reasonable. The only complaint is that the driver did not have an air compressor in the truck. The spare tire is normally at low air pressure. The roadside assistance definitely need an air compressor. read more
