Was in the Fort Washington area and remembered seeing a review on this place so I stopped by to pick up some food. I placed an order for a Wagyu Smashburger, Bag of Fries, and Lumpia Shanghai (along with some Auntea Boba stuff since its all under one menu). Food was ready in about 15 minutes. Food traveled really well. The fries almost didn't make it home. They had the best crispy fries I've had in a while. The lumpia was decent, not too meaty but also had a good crisp to it. The burger was also pretty good. Not sure I could've told the difference between the wagyu and the classic. It was good but I could've gotten more meat for a dollar less with the Classic Double. Overall a decent experience. Food comes out quick but a little pricey. Good flavor though so might be worth checking out. The boba on the other hand might need some work.

Friendly service. The plant based smashburger was just okay, definitely not worth $14. The fries are some of the best fries I've ever had, very crispy and they give you a good amount. There aren't many places to sit, there are a few tables inside, so it seems to be mostly a grab and go spot.

Interesting wall art - the sandwich doesn't look appetizing art lol

The smashburger was tasty! The cashier was nice and they grill the burgers in front by the register. Safe area and they had arcade games inside. The fries are like beer battered crunchy fries. Go, enjoy

On the bottom floor of the old Hiraya on H St. in D.C., Double Up Burger serves Wagyu smash burgers. Overall, the meal was fine but I wish the burgers were a bit bigger, given the size and the fries were a bit saltier than I'd like. Like the old Hiraya, I liked the music played in the aux. I also ordered Mexican coke and a Calamansi (Filipino citrus) drink.

    Burnt meat with bun.

I received my order with burnt meat and bun. How could you'll pass a product over the counter like this for someone to consume?

    Smashburger Combo

I decided to try the double smashburger combo, hoping for a solid meal, but honestly, it fell short--especially for the price. The burger itself was okay at best. Tastes similar to Burger King and I despise Burger King due to the flame grilled taste. While the patties were a nice size, they were less than flavorful. The bun? Just there to hold it all together, nothing special. The fries were forgettable--salted to the extreme, but they were very crispy and remained hot & crispy until I got home. For what I paid, I expected something a little more satisfying. It wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't worth the price. If you're craving a good smash burger, you might want to look elsewhere.

On a brioche roll that was so soft...veggies were fresh. Added some sweet potatoes fries...the only thing that was missing is a couple crisp pickle spears. Will definitely come back...(just not in a Friday night)....saw they had impossible burger on the menu so I'll have to come back and try that one of these days. And let me tell you- Club Auth Rd was jumping this evening....hahaaaa! The pizza place on the corner had a patio section that was given club DC in the early 2000's lol The parking lot was packed on a Friday night. We literally drove around the parking lot for 10 mins trying to find parking... Unfortunately the restaurant didn't allow call ahead orders soooooo.... I insisted we wait in out since we had already taken the ride... The hubs and I were definitely reminiscing about the good ol days...hahaaaa!!! Noted! Will not come back on a Friday night! I kept it classic with the original burger loaded with cheddar, pork bacon, fried onions, mushrooms, mayo, and lettuce, and went combo because... biggest bang for the buck. Fries + fountain soda had my total sitting around $23 with tip--no complaints there. That burger? Juicy, flavorful, and messy in the best way. The fries had that perfect crisp, I just wish they hit them with a little more salt--but nothing I couldn't overlook. Peeped a few new menu additions too. The "roll dog" (aka glizzy) caught my eye. Tried to level it up with chili & cheese but no chili--just cheese. Still might spin back for a plain one with fried onions and mustard. Also saw fried shrimp on the menu... yeah, I'll be back for that. And let's not ignore the vibe--same nostalgic DC/GoGo energy, and the playlist? Always hits. The staff are always patient and pleasant. Apollo still got it.
