The customer service was top tier from the moment I walked in. I truly appreciated the assistance and the time taking with me as I decided in what I wanted although I knew I wanted a burger. The decisions and conversations were crazy... I will have to return to try some of the other sandwiches when I return and maybe dine-in. I was exhausted that's why I just grabbed my food and went home. However, I enjoyed my food, as for the fries they are very basic and I'm not sure if salt would have helped so maybe I'll try the onion rings next time. I could pass on the fries or either I need some good condiments for dip. Other than that I'll go back and try their HH and other sandwiches. I was sold on the customer service because a lot of places fall short on that so I truly appreciate that as well.

I kept hearing amazing things about this place. So, I stopped in to check out their tasting menu and the vibes were amazing! I met the owners and their hospitality was 10/10. Here's what we sampled: Original Burger, Jive Turkey, The DMV, Potomac Garden, Shrimp O'Boy, and then Maryland Crab (lump crab) My top picks? The Shrimp O'Boy, the Maryland Crab, and the Original which were absolutely delicious. The vibes are cozy and it's like the Apollo row cheers! They also host weekly events and definitely a cool spot to go on a date, to try some good sandwiches and burgers.

Well, I had a tricky burger made to order with Swiss cheese and sweet potato fries, and ketchup on the side. My son had a original fat bacon subtract cheese add ketchup with regular fries. My turkey burger was good. It was juicy, but I added the sweet potato fries on the bottom because the burger could've used a little more seasoning. They are a little lightheaded with the seasoning and they have their own original seasoning, which looks fantastic. My son's burger was the way he ordered it, but as he said, it could've used a lot more seasoning on his beef burger, and they could've put a little more sea salt on the french fries for both of our fries I had the sweet potato he had the regular. The service was amazing. I will say that the gentleman was very intentive. It is a bar/burger place so there were a couple of women in there having drinks and they were preoccupied the person at the register so another gentleman came over and helped us and he was very kind. I love the ambience because it tells the history of the DMV area and the Godfather of Gogo music Chuck Brown and it tells the story of DC from Woodworth and Lothrop and the original RFK Stadium so yes it's good. Just add more seasoning maybe included in the menu light seasoning, medium seasoning, and High seasoning just so that you could taste all of the flavors and they can married together perfectly. and like I said, our food was hot and fresh so that part was amazing. We waited about 10 to 13 minutes total and paid like $23.86. No drinks were included on this meal. We drink water anyway, and we have loads of water in the car that was still cold and perfectly room temperature.

Hey friends! This place has been on my go-to list for a while. I tried to go once before but they were out of shrimp LOL. I ordered the Shrimp O' Boy. You can fries and a fountain drink to any entree for $5. The food didn't take long as it wasn't too busy. I really enjoyed my meal! The shrimp was cooked golden, perfect texture and seasoning. My only distaste is that I would've preferred the food on a hoagie roll. It was hard to eat on a burger bun. Fries were okay. -Customer service was great. The cashier was busy in the back when we came in and the cook let us know he'll be right with us, small things like this mean a lot to customers. -Restaurant did have a weird, dirty mop water smell. -Prices are average. -Plenty of free parking out front. -Plenty tables for dine-in. Definitely will return and try out a cocktail from the bar. Hope you enjoy! With love, The Picky Pescatarian

Wanted something quick and light plus wanted to start going inside to eat at places instead of just picking up so I finally went to Burgers at Apollo. I love the DC inspired walls, decor, food names and setup. Different yet pleading to the eye, They have Happy Hour & a nice selection to choose from. Very clean and nice environment! HH SHRIMP BASKET $8 These lightly battered shrimp were PERFECT & just like how I like them. Fresh, crispy and delicious! FRIES (COMES SEPARATE) These were ok, wish they had crinkle cut fries instead. Honestly, I should've had more shrimp and not added the fries. They weren't bad but not a must have. HH LEMON DROP $7 This was a delicious, refreshing and good drink. Definitely would get again. Next time I'm trying a vegan burger and milkshake. Great vibes and happy hour! The bartender was super nice and so were the customers at the bar. Great conversation and atmosphere. Will come back for them shrimp lol.

First thing, when we walked in the service was amazing, so welcoming! Awesome environment, TVs to watch the game on, not loud... My husband had the shrimp Poboy with onion rings. I had the "DMV chicken sandwich" with onion rings. I can safely say these were some of the best onion rings I've ever had, I've lived all up and down the East Coast, trust me that says a lot... That chicken sandwich, the mambo sauce makes it, everything comes out of the kitchen, freshly cooked right then and there... Careful! If you're not paying attention, you will burn yourself on the chicken lol... So fresh so good, check this place out awesome stuff!

Me and my family decided to go out for burgers. After a search I found Apollo and I have nothing but good things to say about this place. We got there during happy hour where we started with margaritas. This is a basic drink but you can gauge a good bartender based on the simple drinks. This was a great margarita for a happy hour price. After a short wait our food came out. I ordered the Apollo burger and my wife got the DMV burger. The pictures don't do any justice the food was amazing and the service was amazing. This was our first time here and we will be back for round two soon. It was cozy and inviting.

Simple and perfect!. Two lovely ladies working the bar area, delicious sandwiches and great drinks. This was literally a perfect experience for me. Despite the heat, the service was fast and friendly. I also enjoyed the wall that included DC figures like Marion Barry, Chuck Brown, the go-go scene and more. I will ABSOLUTELY be back!

Nice spot located in the cut! The Shrimp PoBoy was delicious You can dine in and there is a bar as well. Very laid back and chilled. I placed my order and waited for my order. The young lady taking my order was nice. I will visit again soon to try something else.

My sister and I love trying new burger spots and WILL travel to test out a new one wherever we see fit to do so. Burgers @ Apollo is a Black owned burger spot that is about a 40 minute drive from the western side of Baltimore County. The restaurant is located near the Temple Hills area, about thirty minutes from DC. We visited on a Monday, a bit before 3pm. There were a few patrons eating late lunches and a few grabbing food to go. The restaurant itself is very clean and spacious. I was uncertain of who was the owner of the establishment, but all of the workers we encountered were very nice and accommodating. My sister and I wanted the full experience, so we went all out and ordered burgers, fries AND shakes! As we waited, I looked around and noticed the homages to the DMV Black culture. Black and white photos neatly line the wall of the restaurant. Before our food came out, I went to the rest room. Nothing special, but it's worth noting that it was nice and clean. Our food arrived to the table, fresh and hot. The burgers are absolutely huge with real beef patties. The sesame seeded buns were perfectly toasted and the veggies were fresh. The pickles had a delicious crispy snap! These were not from the jar as far as I could tell. I will note that if you ask for raw onions on your burger you will get a huge raw slice of onion (I'm assuming these are the onion slices used for the onion rings). That being said, if you want raw onions, suggest that they be sliced thin. The burgers were delicious, but the super star of the show were the onion rings! Omg, they were GOOD! The sauce that came with them was also very tasty. The batter was well seasoned and the rings were nice and crunchy. You can tell they were made in house. The milkshakes were soooo decadent and rich! Both the strawberry and chocolate flavors were worth getting. Thick and delicious. No complaints there. A great way to end a delicious meal. There was nothing to complain about at Burgers @ Apollo! The atmosphere was just right and it's just an all around great burger joint! 5 stars!

I made it simple since it was my first time and I was in a hurry.. but let's just say I'll be back soon. Yes overall the burger was just a burger (only because I ordered it that way) but the ambiance was something I really liked. Good music playing, good customer service as soon as a walked in and food came out pretty quick. I will definitely be back to try out the drinks. I think this a cute place to come back and chill during the middle of a work week. O and that slice of cake.... Don't pass on it!

In fact, it kind of reminds me of a place called Champy's World Famous Fried Chicken. We decided to check this place out after passing it literally every time coming from work. It is located across from the Spot Food Hall, so parking is no issue. Our visit took us on a mid-afternoon and as soon as I entered, I noticed that everyone that was there was at the bar. Not judging but immediately you get this vibe, this is a spot where people come to have a few drinks. Hey, across the street is the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services so it makes sense that you see a few having drinks under this administration. The place was clean and as soon as we picked out our seats we were greeted. Customer service was pretty good throughout the whole process. Remember when I said I passed this place every day coming from work. Well, I have not stopped back there since my first and only visit. I am not knocking on the food totally as if it was horrible, but it was nothing that made me want to return. They have their own version of what I can best say Zaxby's sauce. Maybe if they have a happy hour, I might join the folks at the bar. I went with the combo known as the tender box that came with fries, slaw, toast, and a drink. The fries were ehh and the tenders were just ok. The tenders were just not juicy and seemed to be a bit overcooked. As I said too many places where chicken strips are the foundation of their business. Of course, you will base new experiences on past experiences and for me Waldos did not meet the taste factor I have experienced in many other places.

Not a long one but it wasn't moving so one of us says "Let's get a table". Guess which one didn't say that. While they are deciding if we are going to get a table, I read the dress code. It said not sweat pants but my sweats weren't bad. What I was wearing looks like casual sweats that a ball player would be wearing so when I asked if I would be able to get in, the guy was like yeah, no problem. I was a little suspicious and my boy started laughing because it seemed like dude didn't even let me finish my question before he said yeah. He must have know how smooth I was and how I would add appeal to the club LOL. My thought was we would stand in line and enter because the main reason we were going to do bottle service was to ensure we get in with what we were wearing. Come to find out, we were entertaining bottle service because we are old and they wanted to ensure they had a place to sit down. So we tell them we want to get a table and this is when we get to see the staff in action. Up to this point, we only see out front security dude and a lady letting people in at a slow pace. They go get someone to arrange our table and they walk us in. The dude that walks us in is very professional. I thought he was walking us into a safe deposit box in a vault the way he handled us. It was nice. We get in and there is a section to our right of younger people, mid 20's it turned out and 2 were having a birthday. They were pretty mellow but they were coupled up. Once the single women started to join the party, it was a whole different vibe. Table was a $850 spend which I thought was a bit much for this place. I mean, it's in the MGM but it isn't Vegas which was only $150 more. I got Uncle Nearest because supporting black businesses is important to me and a bottle of Grey Goose because we don't drink Tequilla and we love Grey Goose. We asked for ginger beer, cranberry juice, orange juice and sprite. We didn't get the ginger beer at first but we did get ginger ale. Eventually they brought out the ginger beer but that took a while. However, that didn't matter because it took even longer to bring out the spirits. I don't remember the woman's name but she was a good server. She was reasonably attentive considering it seemed like she had a lot of tables to attend to. There were times we had to stop her as she walked by because we needed something. She was obviously preoccupied with what the other table asked of her but we also needed something so I stopped her and asked if they had stir straws that you get in rock glasses because we had full size soda straws but only rock glasses and that don't work well. She did get some straws cut for us in a timely manner. I'm just going to come right out and say it. There were way too many dudes in there. I don't know if it was more balanced at one point and the women were just like, nah and rolled out but I hope they weren't just letting people in because they were in line. I am a compassionate person and I understand it's a struggle to get into some clubs at times but you have to keep the balance. I know you want to make money and dudes spend money but they spend more money if women are in there. I guess some money is better than no money but I think it taints the brand. I'm not pressed to go back because it had to be 11 guys to 1 woman. Now, we weren't out for that but the ratio is still the appeal. The DJ was pretty good. I don't remember when he actually started spinning because I was focused on the game and didn't notice him til the TV went off which I'm guessing is when he got up there. I hope my vision wasn't that focused on the game that I didn't see a DJ standing right there but there wasn't really much of anything to watch but the game unless I wanted to watch a club full of dudes watch the 6 women dancing together on the dance floor. Most of the people dancing were couples that look like they came together and groups of girls. I saw two girls dance with what seemed like randoms but everyone else was just standing around. I guess they were taking just a break from gambling. It wasn't a bad experience but it wasn't one that makes me want to go back anytime soon. If this service was in a different place or if it was a better night the review would be slightly different. They can't help that I chose to come out on this specific date but it was a Friday and we did stay til they kicked us out. Yup! The old dudes shut that piece down! LOL.

How did I not know TAP Sports Bar existed?…read more TAP is basically what happens when a stadium, a fryer, and a casino have a baby; loud, chaotic, and somehow exactly what you needed. I was fully invested in the Duke game because if they won, my bestie would be back in DC. So yes, I was out here cheering for the Boozer brothers like I was trying to get their mama a plane ticket. Not wanting to deal with the National Harbor side, my friend suggested TAP and honestly, clutch move. The struggle: a 30-45 minute wait for a table. The plot twist: the to‑go line was just as long, and they'll shut it down if the kitchen gets overwhelmed. But it was available. The pivot: the outdoor area was wide open. No bar, no servers, no crowd, just sunshine and empty plush seating and tables. So outside it is. This worked perfectly because we both weren't drinking! We ordered at the bar, grabbed our food, and watched the game outside like VIPs who chose peace over chaos. Inside: TVs everywhere, sports blasting, people yelling at screens like the players owed them money. It's chaotic in the best possible way. Service was friendly but slow but still, the staff somehow kept the whole place running like a well‑oiled machine in the middle of a sports‑fueled tornado. Final verdict: Come hungry, come casual, and come patient. TAP is fun, filling, and exactly the kind of place you go when you want comfort food with zero pretension. Now... let's get into it! I went straight for the TAP Burger, as any self‑respecting burger monster would. And honestly? It understood the assignment. Juicy, messy (in a sexy way), and stacked like it's trying to win a televised food competition. The fries were crispy little overachievers, especially impressive considering they were trapped in a plastic container. No pics because to go food isn't picture worthy out of the containers. Highly recommend. This is officially my new spot for all things sports. Plus, free parking. A no‑brainer. Find me here on game days! Perfect outdoor place to be!

Just a heads up if you're bringing anyone younger, you have to pass through security to get in, and it's strictly 21 and up. Food-wise, the blackened salmon is the star of the menu, hands down. It came out cooked perfectly every time, and the vegetables and mashed potatoes on the side were well prepared and complemented the dish nicely. The wings are solid too, a reliable choice if you're settling in to watch a game. I did try the chicken strips and found the breading a bit heavy for my taste, so I'd steer toward the wings or salmon instead. I also tried the apple tart for dessert, which was good but not perfect. The bread was on the thicker side and a little overcooked, so there's room for improvement there. Pricing is in line with other casual dining spots in the area, nothing outrageous for what you get. Overall, Tap delivers a fun sports bar experience with a menu that mostly hits the mark, especially if you stick with the salmon or wings. I'll definitely be back for the next big game.
