The rooms were recently remodeled, in fact opened the day I checked in! Super clean, very comfortable beds and pillows, of which each bed has 4. Nice amenities in the rooms and bathrooms. Only weird thing is the bathroom door automatically closes. The only con I can think of~there is a poor availability of coffee for us coffee junkies! I had driven 10 hours before stopping for the night and desperately needed some coffee in the morning, and I wasn't about to start day drinking at 8am! read more

Honestly, this is a great hotel!! Great price and atmosphere and super fun and friendly bartenders. I love everything about it other than the "pit boss" I believe his name was "Tyler" he was very rude from the beginning. The little amount of time I sat at the black jack table with my boyfriend and played a few hands, the "manager" A.K.A Tyler acted like he owned the place and was very over the top, he literally made everyone around us very uncomfortable and the few people I was with were extremely unimpressed. We stayed here once several years ago and decided to stay here again as we were impressed with our last visit. Unfortunately it has changed a little bit (for the worse). We too had key problems. Our first set of 2 keys, 1 worked, the other did not. The manager (Who I must say was great) changed them for us. To our surprise, the new keys did not work, yet the old ones did. Oh well, we were able to get in the room so we left it as was. The rooms are nice but unfortunately ours had something dripping from the room above creating a large puddle of water under our AC unit. Other than that, the room was fine. They need better maintenance although the maintenance worker who helped us was super friendly and helpful. The casino has been enlarged and the restaurant is now a smaller sports bar type place. The breakfast is decent, the omelet chef is amazing. Gambling was decent, bigger than most of the casinos on Main Street. Pool was A+ and the fitness room was nice. I actually had weights to use, all the way up to 80lbs. Super friendly staff, poorly taken care of. May stay at the hotel next door or somewhere else next time. read more

Stayed at an Americinn in Cody WY by accident and was so glad. Great reception and service, nice room and good value with free hot breakfast. So checked into another Americinn in Rapid City, SD and was not disappointed. Reception desk person, Kinsy was super efficient, knowledgeable and friendly and upgraded us to a wonderful large room. Credit should be acknowledged when it's earned and Kinsy is an asset to the Americinn Hotels. read more

There doesn't seem to be a review for the Brown Rock Cafe inside Cadillac Jack's. If you are thinking about eating here, don't bother. Service was very, very slow and we only ordered two salads. It was a Monday night and the place was not busy. I got the Steak tip salad. the steak was cold and tough. My hubby got the wedge salad minus blue cheese and got blue cheese that you could tell they tried to remove after they goofed. We were ignored for the first minute by the hostess while she played on the computer. Never again, with management like that it won't be there long -there are too many other great places to go in Deadwood. read more

The hotel is great, the room was big and nice. The restaurant needs some help though. The breakfast buffet is amazing, everything you could want including a guy to custom make waffles and omelets but dinner was not that great. The fish was overcooked and had no taste. The fries are good but we found better dinner elsewhere. read more

The hotel room was clean and roomy. We were on the 4th floor so it was quiet. Only one elevator was working for the entire weekend. The staff did not seem to care whether we enjoyed ourselves or not. Waited for 10-15 minutes to check in. Jacob was too busy helping someone else with vacation plans and never acknowledged my presence until he was done. Not overly friendly. The bar maid skipped over us for last call. The server at the cafe was rude. No price advertised for the buffet. I had to repeatedly ask for more coffee, eggs, and breakfast pizza. Very very poor service. The advertised shrimp and prime rib at the buffet was nonexistent. There was never anyone at the desk when we wished to purchase anything from the gift shop. Also no prices on the food in the gift shop. Never saw the hours of the restaurant either. We had to wait for a half hour for our car. The valet was very freindly and did apologize. We weren't sure what was going on. read more

The casino floor itself was fine besides cocktail waitresses never to be found and having to leave your machine to go get your own soda or the bar for a drink. The food at the restaurant wasn't that great and burnt my husband well-done steak. The other big disappointment was that there was not another food option besides the gift shop. Which was extremely over priced. Which should be offered at a discount to hotel guest since there is no vending machines in the vending machine area on the second floor in the hotel next to the ice machine. But seriously $3.75 for a king size Butterfinger and the same price for a 12 oz Gatorade. I highly doubt we would stay here again. The staff was friendly. read more

I ordered a drink at the bar. The bar tender Diane, (I believe) went to make my drink, it was taking a while so I went to a machine to start gambling. I saw her taking a drink from a shot glass. I was a little surprised. I received my drink. about 15 minutes later I was still at the same machine and a waitress came by and asked if I would like another one. I said sure. She went to the bar and Diane said, "I just made her one, you better watch her"! I was shocked and highly offended by this. When the waitress brought my drink I was speechless. I went and found my friend and told her what was said.Needless to say, we decided to go somewhere else. Before we left, I went to the bar asked for her name in order to talk to management when I wasn't so upset. No I did not drink that second drink. We went up to the Lodge had a bloody mary there gambled for 5 hours had lunch and headed on our way. I would much rather spend my money in a casino where the staff is polite and helpful not demeaning. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! When we went to check in, we were told they gave our room to someone else because we hadn't authorized them to charge our credit card. The incredibly rude and self righteous front desk person said she tried to call the phone number on the confirmation three times and wasn't able to get me. I still don't understand this. One, they had the right phone number (my cell phone) on the confirmed reservation (but obviously they didn't give much credence to the confirmation) and I did not have any missed calls or voice mails. Two, my confirmation email from Cadillac Jacks says they will "charge my credit card" on the day of check in. They never said I had to confirm that they can charge my card on the day of check in. Third, no one else in our group had to confirm their reservation and they all had no problem checking in. SO..we had to find another hotel room in town. The front desk person said this was "100% my fault" and the hotel was not to blame at all because they 'tried to call me". (NO THEY DIDN'T). I asked her to tell me when the manager would be in, and she said between 11 and 9 the next day. We went to the hotel the next day and spoke to a lovely person in the morning who took down my information and said she would pass this along to the manager. The manager never called us, so we went by that evening and were told by the same horribly rude front desk person that he was out and she wasn't going to bother him with our problem because, as she said the night before, this was "our fault" and she didn't care (really, she said this). I told her she could learn some customer service from the morning front desk person and she said "she is new, she doesn't know anything". I guess she meant that the pleasant morning front desk person hasn't learned how to be an a$$hole yet. I called the front desk manager and still haven't heard back from him. Meanwhile, we ate at the restaurant that evening and our waitress burst into tears when she served us because she hated her job so much (she said) and everyone's order was wrong. For breakfast the next day (we had to eat there because the group was there), when telling the surly waiter that we had not gotten what we had ordered, he told us that we had NOT ordered the oatmeal, but we had ordered the omelet. SO...if you intend to go to this hotel (and it actually looked ok physically), just plan on horrible customer service and plan on no one caring at all. We ended up staying at the Holiday Inn Express in town and had a much better experience than the rest of our group did. read more

I ate at the restaurant and ordered a cheese burger plain and dry then waited about 25 or 30 minutes in an empty restaurant and when I received it it had everything on it so I told the waiter and he questioned me asking me if I like lettus, tomato, pickles, etc. and I said no and sent it back. Then about 30 seconds later he brought out a cheese burger plain and dry I then thought to myself how could it take half an hour to make one burger and thirty seconds to make another? Being a cheese burger connoisseur I knew what trick they had pulled so I took the top bun off and saw the indentions of the pickle in the cheese and could smell the tomatoes on the bun, so I sent it back again because I have a disorder that would cause me to get very sick if I ate those ingredients, so the waiter took it back and as soon as he walked in the kitchen I could hear the chef yell "Are you serious?" and continue complaining I couldn't believe it so I asked the waiter if what I heard was true and he began to stutter and was really shocked then told me everything was ok and there was no problem. I knew there was a problem but I waited almost an hour to eat and it being the rally weekend I knew this was my best bet in getting food now, so I ate my poor tasting $14 burger paid and filled out their "score card" and instead of giving it to the waiter where I knew it would be thrown away I took it to the front desk of the hotel where the hostess apologized and was going to get her boss, when she came back she told me her boss was in a meeting and took my name and phone number so they can "take care of me" and apologize. But its been a week and I have not received a call, so in one meal I was served the wrong food 2x lied too 2x and ate a burger that I couldn't taste the meat of. There are way too many choices of restaurants in Deadwood to be treated like that and be lied too more than once. read more
