Was starting a status match with HH this week. Unfortunately I never made the match after this stay. The rooms were great very nice. Poor check in process - Beds were comfy. Customer service not to friendly... Nice little bar with over priced drinks and decent food. There was some nasty bugs in my bed... Complained with no results. Checked out next day went back to the Marriot... LOL - I used to have some pics of it on my phone hopefully I didn't delete them so I can upload to Yelp. $150 avg. read more

Stayed here for 5 days for business. Right when you walk in it looks like a great hotel. However, then you finally get to the place. My room has a nice little sign in it that reads: "If you are not satisfied with your stay, let us know and WE WILL MAKE IT RIGHT." Well let's go down the list: 1) Cable has 1/2 of the channels working 2) AC Broke 3) Shower Curtain broke so it slides to the middle. Turns the bathroom into a swimming pool in just 1 shower. 4) Swimming Pool is gross. 5) Room service cleans the hall ways bright and early. 6) Got chicken fingers and a tea from the restaurant. $21 dollars I told the front desk about problems 1-3 multiple times and they just answer ok we will get maintenance on them. Never happened. Absolutely awful hotel. Go somewhere. read more

I'll admit... the cookie lured me. On the road for work, and needed a place to stay. I chose this place because a) the cookie and b) I'd get Hilton status and points. It wasn't bad..... maybe for the area. It just wasn't the nicest property I've ever stayed in. The front desk was always friendly. And check-in was fine. So no issues there.. UPDATE 4/26/12: I'm in town for work and I'm switching from Marriott to Hilton and therefore... here I am at the Doubletree by Hilton in Jackson, TN. However, I've had a series of events that have led to a less than great experience. My toilet had been used prior to me using it... and all of it was left behind... and that is just unacceptable (this was discovered when I entered my room... for the first time... not exactly a great first impression). I returned from a a day of meetings today at 4:30pm to find my room hadn't been (and didn't appear to be going to) serviced. I didn't have a do not disturb on my door. So, I had to call down and get someone to come and service and I STILL tipped. When I returned to my room, I wanted a hot tea and decided to heat up some bottled water through your coffee machine... something I've done on numerous occasions at other hotels... only to find it wasn't clean either. I ran through 5 bottles of water (of the 6 that I ordered from room service)... and it still came out brown from coffee. I called down to the front desk to request a new one and explain the situation and the front desk person said... "it wasn't clean?"... and I replied that I guess it isn't because I can't make hot water. Then silence. After a few seconds, I asked if they could bring me a new one and she said sure... An hour later... my new coffee pot arrived and shortly thereafter, probably after my email to the GM and Director of Sales to explain the above... I received another knock on my door.... Someone from the front desk brought me a coupon for complimentary breakfast for 2 in their cafe. Really? I mean I guess it's a nice gesture... but my toilet was used, my coffee pot was dirty and wouldn't run clear, I used 5 of the 6 bottles of water I ordered from room service (costing me $20) to try and make it run clean and I had to asked for my room to be serviced. Needless to say, I'm really disappointed in my stay at this Doubletree and it's unfortunate because I've had other great trips to Hilton's and have 22 more nights booked with Hilton's from now to July.... and over 70 for through the rest of the year. Hopefully my other stays will be........ cleaner. On a side note... I have had a WONDERFUL experience with the room service. The woman who brought up my water last night and a salad w/ fried green tomatoes has been quick, friendly and the food is excellent! UPDATE: I spoke w/ Iris, the Director of Front Desk Operations (or something like that) and she was very kind and apologetic. She's offered to comp my room service charges (though room service really was great) and give me 5,000 HHonors points. She's also invited me back as a guest of the hotel should I be in Jackson again. I truly appreciated just the courtesy of a phone call and an apology and that someone actually cared about my concerns. As a side note... the Social Media team at Hilton is fantastic and very responsive. Way to go! That's a huge win, in my opinion. read more

I came here on a Friday for a wedding weekend. I was hot, sweaty, and in desperate need of a shower. We got there after the time we were allowed to check-in and both of our rooms weren't ready. I was pissed. The lady at the front desk had the worst attitude, this also didn't help the situation. Once we got our room, I was pleased. It was clean and nice. I was able to shower and all was right in the world again. The free cookie also helped brighten my mood. read more

Excellent stay with a great restaurant downstairs. The Steak salad was very good and the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Note: the executive lounge is a room that is converted to a very small lounge and is closed Saturday and Sunday nights. No reason to go for that upgrade. read more

We stayed here for my sons soccer tournament. I will be honest that I usually try to stay in cheaper hotels as I just never feel like the extra price is worth what you get at hotels unless you make a huge leap in price. Usually I spend around $70/night for hotel. Case in point this Double tree cost $145 with tax and I just don't understand what you get for the extra $70. There's not a free breakfast here. The beds are still queens that are too small for two full sized humans. The pool was indoor that also went into outdoor which was kid of nice but it was so cold I didn't want to go in. I do enjoy being able to go into my room from inside hotel rather than outside but it's not THAT big of a deal to me. Overall this place was fine, no better no worse than my normal $70 stay somewhere else. read more

We always stay at the double tree around Miss Tennessee Pageant / Tennessee's Outstanding Teen Pageant time and have a great time! The suites are enormous and I would definitely recommend booking one if you have a lot of luggage, plan on having friends over, or have two or more people staying with you. The regular rooms are still pretty spacious as well! I loved that they had a kitchenette / bar area for me to store and prepare my food since I'm on a strict diet. The only issue we have run into is that we had booked two suites and one room for a weekend before Miss Tennessee and the hotel was overbooked- instead of making someone who had not booked a room before change their reservation, they changed OUR reservation and changed one of our suites to a regular room. We had already confirmed, checked in ( we hadn't Brought our luggage inside the second suite yet) and were running a few errands in Jackson. While they offered us a discount and it's not the end of the world, it's frustrating that this happened and seemed very against regular hotel policy. (I haven't read their policy word for word, though.) Also, due to the overbooking they weren't able to give us any extra towels, which is fine- but inconvenient. I love that they offer room service from the restaurant and their food is outstanding. The hotel staff is always great and easy to work with and very kind. The hotel could definitely use some renovations but has always been clean when we've stayed there. The location is very convenient and we enjoy staying here around pageant time, as the hotel is on the same exit as the pageant venue and is only about a 10 minute drive to get there. read more

Checked in here last night with no reservation, got $10 military discount to all my military personnel out there "must show ID", also got a warm cookie in a bag to go lol love it! bed and pillow supper soft, big TV, A/C blows cold, shower is powerful and hot thank god. They have a restaurant downstairs called Twisted that serves breakfast for $9.95, really nice looking but I will say this it is just like army breakfast, the food did not match the drapes you know what I mean lol! None the less I'm use to it so it didn't bother me. I have to come back through here next week, I'll probably stay here again read more

Nice stay! Cookies are always a bonus! The pool was nice, needs updating and shock would kill the green algae but it felt great and wasn't bad! Free coupons for breakfast was nice! The fresh fruit was great, especially the pineapple!!! Room was clean and beds were comfortable! Ac worked great! Bathroom was a little small for 2 people. Guest services/staff deserve more than 5 stars. Travelling from California , all by myself, they made me feel safe, comfortable, and very welcome. The Doubletree cookie they give you at check in is warm and absolutely delicious! I asked to purchase more before I left, and they just gave me a few for my trip home. I can't remember everyone's names, but "T", Victoria, and Aimee were especially kind to me. I was anxious about the long drive to Nashville in a rainstorm. They graciously allowed me a late checkout at no charge. The bed and pillows were soooo comfy! Everything was clean, and the glass elevator made it feel fancy! I skipped the pool as it was a bit cloudy and filled with kids most of the time. Sadly the COVID19 thing required the restaurant menu to be different than what I'd seen online, but the food was not bad. Would stay again for sure. (Maybe don't have the pool heated so well in the middle of July.) lol! read more

We stayed here for a friends wedding and I felt we over-payed for what they hotel was. Our room, apart from the carpet, felt old and was definitely lived in. We did not have the nicer marble top bathroom with new mirror I have seen in photos, we had a older wooden vanity and brown counter top that was well loved. Our bathtub felt really old and dated. When I arrived it was full of water and dripping which I managed to get stopped and fixed. The bottoms of our door to the bathroom and the closet door had something splattered on them and just felt really old. Our bed was comfortable and the sheets felt clean. The front desk staff was wonderful and super nice. The hotel just felt really dated and wasn't what I expected at all. For a little over $100 a night, which isn't bad at all, there were just newer nicer places we could have stayed. Overall, the room itself was not bad, just not super updated. But the bathroom was rather sad and could be greatly improved. read more

I'll start by saying that the staff is extremely polite and accommodating, which makes it hard for me to write a bad review. After I got to my room, the front desk called to make sure everything was ok, which is nice. I have a couple gripes about this place. For one, it is extremely outdated. Seriously, I walked into my room and I thought I stepped back in time to the '80's. It's not terrible, I just expected more from a Hilton hotel, especially DoubleTree. I stay in Hilton hotels every week for work, and this is by far the oldest and ugliest one I've stayed at. Also, although my room has been kept clean by the staff, the hallways are constantly littered with trash. There are halfway filled trash bags laying around and it doesn't seem like anyone cleans the halls because as soon as I step out of my room there's trash on the floor. I stepped out of my room yesterday to find a random white coat hanger sitting in front of my door. I thought at first someone was trying to send me a cryptic signal, but then as I was walking down the hallway I also saw bits of food and toilet paper all over the floor. They can't be understaffed because every time I walk down the hall I step around 4 or 5 cleaning staff pushing carts. I feel bad for them because I know they work hard and get paid next to nothing, but something has to change. I agree with another reviewer who said you'd be better off staying at the Hampton Inn across town. I've stayed at that one and it is much more updated and clean. read more

We travel quite a bit, and this stay was dissapointing. The bathroom floor was not clean, as well as the sink area. I chose to keep my shoes on. As we entered the room there was an musty odor. Clearly in the middle of renovations, but no one said that when checking in. The hotel is dirty and not well tended during this work. The hall carpets are stained EVERYWHERE, and there is literal trash just sitting in the hallways. The trash changes everyday so that's something. The carpet is also coming up at the edges. There are exposed wires running along the ceiling. There was a cracker on the stairs, right in front of the elevator for hours. It's not due to a lack of staff, there are employees running around everywhere. The rooms are decent but my colleague's bathroom doorknob was falling off. There was a weird stain on my curtains. I stayed here before and it was fine. Hope it gets back to where it was before. read more

Second time staying in here. I travel to Jackson to recruit at Union University and always stay here. They have a Union discount rate which is nice. The hotel is clean, upscale and the staff are friendly. I recommend staying here if you are in town. If you are not a Hilton Rewards member I highly recommend signing up its free and you get some great perks! read more

The pool is wonderful. The lack of elevator for a $180 hotel room, and getting placed on the highest floor so needing to walk up 5 flights of stairs with luggage and getting the furthest room away from those 5 flights of stairs was disappointing. The people working were all kindly professional so that's a plus. People being able to see under our room door from the hallway was not. If you're looking for a place to swim, and don't care about other conveniences and/or a quiet room, it's a good hotel for that. I can't say anything towards the other amenities since we didn't use them. My kids want to come back to go swimming, so we'll be back at some point, hopefully when they have an elevator, but it's not somewhere I'd choose to stay based on this experience without my kids along. read more

I reserved a room at your Doubletree Jackson, TN hotel on 3/27/2021 at around midnight as we were traveling. We arrived at about 1:44 am very tired and ready to get to our room. The clerk put us in Room 129. The door sticker was intact showing the room had been cleaned and not accessed. However, upon entering the room we were appalled to find the room had not been cleaned. We found hair all over in the bed when we pulled the covers back. It was on the pillow too. Then we looked in the bathroom. It was all over the floor and in the tub. My husband actually blew on the floor and the hair just went all over. Apparently the maid just pulled up the covers on the bed and made it just the way it was left by the prior occupant. I'm not only tired but disabled and had to go down and get another room and a luggage carrier to remove my luggage and go to another room on the 4th floor. The clerk just made excuses that they had been very busy the day before. There is no excuse for a maid to not be cleaning a room and especially during a pandemic COVID -19! If I was the manager and learned this I would be taking immediate action regarding this employee. They put myself and my husband at risk. Then on top of all this your front desk could not do as I asked regarding payment. I switched the payment card from AMEX to Citibank MasterCard when I checked in. The clerk put a hold of $180.00 on my Citibank card. When I checked out I was told they would give me a % off my Bill because of the issues that I brought to their attention and would receive a receipt emailed to me. I left the property on 3/28/2021 and yesterday on March 29th, I received a charge to the wrong card (AMEX) for the full amount of the stay. So both of my cards were charged. AMEX charged me a overdraft fee for this. That is why I gave them my Citibank card at checkin to prevent this problem. I was told the Manager would call me on Monday which she did not do. However, today I was called and told that I would receive 30% off the stay. I told her they charged both cards and that AMEX charged me a fee for Doubletree's error and she did not say anything. She never apologized for ANYTHING that happened. She was rather rude. After all of this, I hate to say that my opinion of Hilton has certainly changed. I will be traveling a lot back and forth between Tennessee and Oklahoma but believe that I will have to stay elsewhere instead of Hilton properties. So I am out money due to their errors with the credit cards. read more

I just love staying in hotels. This was very nice as any DoubleTree should be. It was a little tricky to get to this hotel from 40 because it's a left off the main road and its a very very busy main road. It was so busy that a person ahead of me gave up and just went straight, but I was determined. The parking lot doesn't look big, which worried me. However on my 3 times driving into the lot I didn't have any trouble finding a spot, so it's big enough. The lobby is nice, big and inviting. Check in on the right, restaurant on the left, elevators and stairs straight back. The elevators are slow, but I wasn't about to hike up 5 flights of stairs with my overpacked Vera Bradley items, I also would have knocked people out with my overpacked Vera Bradley items. The room itself was big and spacious. The bed was comfortable. There was enough furniture in it. Desk, chair, club chair, ottoman, two night stands with adequate plugs. The bathroom was a little on the smallish side and just had a shower, which is fine. The shower was elevated which confused me, especially as I tripped each time I got out of the shower. There weren't any hand towels, but a quick call to the front desk got us some. The gym was closed. This was my only time away from home that I was actually gung-ho about working out. I mean, I had work out gear in my overpacked Vera Bradley!! There was an offer of some nearby gym but heh, easy to lose my motivation. Oh, paying for wifi at hotels is a peeve of mine. I just don't get it. I tried using my AT&T (ok, let's get real still bellsouth) login to get on the wifi as I was instructed and it didn't work, so I gave up and played Yahtzee on my phone. Doubletree enabled that addiction. My only gripe was the amount of children. Who knew jackson was THE place to go on summer vacation? So. Many. Kids. Running through the halls and stairs and taking joy in playing in the elevators. Ohhhh that's probably why the elevators were so slow. read more

Ok so I am a grandmother and wanted to let my grandsons swim.This hotel had the only heated swimming pool that I could find in Jackson so we called the hotel itself to get reservation....unsuccessful left message for return call never happened we found what we needed on internet after going to various sites....The staff was very very friendly and JD was so sweet. Our room smelled bad, but it was clean, it was very old and door was very splintered. We wore our shoes the whole time. Hallway carpets are filthy, we were on 5th floor, It really needs help but they do try to keep it clean. Hampton Inn and suites is my go to but they have no indoor pool so for swimming I would go again till someone else gets a heated indoor pool. read more

Older hotel with the friendliest staff I have ever met! The beds are very soft and not comfortable. Ample towels that are nice quality. The 3 stats is mostly for the cleanliness of the room. Definitely was not vacuumed before we got there. Edges of carpet were very dusty as were bathrooms. I would stay again but ask for a thorough clean of the room prior to arrival. read more

So, the base of the flagpole was littered in bird droppings and cigarette butts, most parking had no convenience to the entry points, the staff was very friendly, the cookie was delicious, the room's decor was a terrible orange, the stopper in the tub wasn't designed to work, there were rags stuffed under the sink, etc. The part that actually irritated me was the $10 charge for Internet that didn't work the whole of the evening. I believe that even the $20 a night motel rooms have free internet now? I usually stay with Marriott after my Hilton experience in Belgium. We came to stay at the Doubletree for our family reunion this past weekend. After our banquet in the banquet hall on Saturday night, my daughter and I returned to our room only to find a gigantic roach in the bathroom. I immediately went downstairs, advised front desk and requested another room. The front desk staff moved us immediately to a room on the 3rd floor. The smell on the 3rd floor was awful and the carpet was old and dirty. We got to the room and a used bar of soap was in the shower, so we already knew it had not been cleaned thoroughly. An hour or so after being moved to this room, we were interrupted by a loud pounding on the walls in the room next to us. Next thing we know, police were outside our door, responding to a "domestic disturbance." The police left and were called back 3 more times! We did not get to sleep until 4 am on Sunday morning. Several guests on our floor came out of the room to pounding and yelling as a father and son were fighting out in the hall!!!! After responding to the 4th call, the police finally removed the patrons at 4am!! I will never stay here again and will be contacting the corporate office today!!!! read more

We truly enjoyed our stay here. Our "suite" was spotless. We made use of the little fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. It was really hot outside, but our room stayed nice and cool. The bathroom had a really good shower, and there were plenty of towels. Loved the Gilcrest and Soames toiletries. I use their shampoo at home. Perfect stay! read more

We arrived at about 3.55pm on Saturday after a long day on the road, looking forward to relaxing before a meal in their restaurant. I was surprised by the number of people sitting in the lobby with luggage, and was told at check-in that the room wasn't ready. The receptionist suggested that we drive somewhere for dinner and come back later. As it was pouring with rain and a bit early to eat we chose instead to wait in the lobby. Big mistake. We didn't get into our room until well after 5.00pm, amongst the last from those waiting in the lobby. Once in the room, every 30 seconds the smoke alarm chirped. How could the house keepers not have noticed? Arranging a new battery was easy but I couldn't help but wonder whether it was a deliberate distraction. We ate elsewhere. I'd just joined the Hilton Club as my new employer uses them, but to be honest I can't remember a worse hotel experience in many years, and I've stayed in over 30 hotels in the last 12 months. On Sunday I joined the opposition's rewards club. This review is a week and a half late as I waited for the email requesting feedback that has arrived from every other hotel I've stayed in since arriving in the US. Strangely, no such email from the Doubletree in Jackson. read more

I travel to Jackson a LOT for business i.e. I've had projects that lasted several months long and I get back there for overnights at least every other month. I've stayed at all the Hilton/Marriott properties in Jackson. Honestly, a few years back I was not happy with this Doubletree and dropped it from my hotel choices. Summer of 2013 I ended up having to stay there for a couple nights and they have obviously done some upgrading. Since then I have enjoyed 3 or 4 more stays and just made reservations for another. The staff is friendly, the concierge lounge isn't really deluxe but it's adequate. The fitness center is what you expect. The restaurant is actually pretty good. Rooms are clean and comfortable and some of them are very spacious. When I'm stockpiling Hilton points, this Doubletree has shot up to my number 1 choice in Jackson for doing that. They'd earn their 5th star if the gym was better and if the coffee pots were full grown coffee pots and not those little one cup things. That doesn't seem like a lot, but when you business travel, it becomes a big thing. Residence Inn has a drip coffee pot in each room and Hilton Garden Inn has a Keurig...you can bring your own fave (Dunkin Donuts) coffee for those early mornings. :) read more

I've stayed at this hotel three different times in the last six years (the most recent time in the last 4 months) and have eaten at Twist, their restaurant, a half dozen times over the last two. This hotel is very nice. Rooms have been extraordinarily well appointed. Furniture is new and not your run of the mill hotel furniture. The indoor outdoor pool is quite nice. The restaurant is a place I actually go for a quiet date with my wife and fine food. I've not found a better hotel so conveniently located in Jackson. The staff has been quite good. I've stayed in a suite and two rooms with king beds. Beds were very comfortable. Linens were high thread count, high comfort. Rooms included bathrobes and slippers. And, of course, Doubletree's customary chocolate chip cookie. Only downside is that the ceiling of the atrium is beginning to show its age. This is not a five star hotel (I've stayed in a few of those over the years), but this place is a comfortable substitute in a town with lots of cheapo hotel rooms with few extras. read more

This wasn't the nicest Doubletree that we've stayed in but it was still damn nice. The only negative was that the hotel decor in the lobby and hallways seemed a bit dated. Aside from that, everything was great. The hotel was clean and well-kept. The rooms were large and the beds comfortable. The ladies at the front desk were always very nice and kept the cookies warm. The cleaning staff was superb. The shorter, petite black lady who serviced our room was excellent. She was extremely friendly and always said hello to us when we passed her in the hallway. She was also quick to bring us fresh towels when we asked for them. She, and the rest of the staff, are what differentiate this hotel from others that I have stayed in. This location also has a concierge lounge for it's elite and diamond rewards members. It was a nice touch. It offered breakfast in the morning and some snacks in the afternoon. The breakfast in this was adequate. It contained scrambled eggs, french toast sticks, bagels, muffins, fruit, cereal, hash browns, and waffles. In the afternoon they offered cookies, mozzarella sticks, some kind of pretzel bites, and refreshments. The only thing that would have been nice with breakfast would have been bacon. But that's not a deal breaker for me. It was still good. We did, however, notice a lack of enthusiasm from the gal who ran the lounge. This was a bit concerning for a place that's suppose to be a perk for Hilton's most frequent guests. The gal who worked the lounge was always late to set up the food for breakfast and the afternoon snacks. She was also rather impatient and had everything removed and taken away 10-15 minutes before the lounge was scheduled to close. There were a couple mornings when I watched guests come in to get some coffee and she had already emptied it out. This didn't seem to be the best way to treat your top-tier rewards members. Aside from that, we really enjoyed our stay here. Aside from the lounge, the staff was phenomenal and the stay was excellent. I would highly recommend staying here. Hopefully, you will get the same great maid and receptionists that we had. If I am ever in Jackson again, I will be staying here. read more

Stayed here five nights. Left each morning around 8:30-9:00 AM and returned around 4:00.PM 4/5 days when we returned, our room had not been touched. We had to call the front desk each time. We were offered free breakfast, but are leaving early so can't take them up on the offer. We visit Jackson often. Probably will be staying elsewhere next time. read more

not a bad stay. room was clean and the sheets were REALLY tucked in well. my biggest complaint would be that they did not have an outlet on the farthest side of the bed but that problem can easily be fixed by getting the lamp from the desk, taking out the bulb and the shade off, plugging it into the lamp next to ur bed and putting the taken apart lamp behind ur pillow. then there r two outlets in the middle of the bed. one other complaint was the front desk people. i got in at midnight and left in the morning. there were two ladies that were just not matching my vibe and energy. they were useless. not friendly or helpful. my room for four people only had two towels i mean... cmon i know u can do better u just have to strive for greatness to be achieved. when i asked for waters she would not give me the amount of water that i needed to make sure that my group did not die of thearstiness. again just not matching my vibe and energy. read more
