They not only had hand dipped ice cream and soft serve, to include every variation of sundae and milkshake and "blend," but they offered a lunch and breakfast menu too! They make all of the ice cream and most of the treats in-house. They also partner with local businesses to sell things like custom straw cups and lotion. The cashier was super patient as we sorted out our order, and they will bring your order to you at a table outside or to your car. Outside there are picnic tables, cafe tables, Adirondack chairs, and a swing set for the kiddos. The ice cream was soooo delicious! I got a blend, and there were huge pieces of candy included. They offer good options for special dietary needs. The vegan sandwich is based on Old Bay marinated tofu, and they are not kidding about that. It is really, really Old Bay flavored. The tomato and avocado livens things up, but honestly the best part of the sandwich was still the sourdough bread, which is fair enough for a bakery. The spread of pastries I acquired was resplendent in quality and variety, and I will be happy to continue trying out all the Black Market locations to see which one is the most convenient.

It had a nicked sticker on it so I thought they would take it back without a receipt, it was under $7. So I went in and spoke with the manager told him about it first thing he asked for is a receipt, no I don't but it has your pricing sticker you can see I purchased it here. He wouldn't even look at it just wanted a receipt, said he could look it up if I used a charge card. I shop here a few times a week, I hardly ever purchase meat ahead of time to use later except for bacon I get 5lbs at a time and meat like the packaged ham steaks or whole yams that have a longer use by date for planned ahead meals , I stop in pickup what ever meat I'm fixing for dinner that night. This is the second time since this store has opened up that a meat I purchased from here had an issue with it and this was the first time I was asked for a receipt. I've been shopping at a Nicks since I was a kid my grandmother use to take me to the one in Clinton once a week, then when I started working I would stop in Nicks of Clinton to get a sub for lunch. It was really nice when the one opened in St-Charles off of Rt 5 and Mattawoman-Beantown Rd. I started purchasing meat for my own family and then this one opened in Calvert made it even more convenient to shop at. I guess I'll have to learn to take a picture of my receipt from here in case this happens again or I can just continue to be a loyal shopper here and just take the loss and move on.
