Best Donut of my life eaten here today!! Here in Reno for Hot August Nights, we drove over 6 miles to try this amazing donut shop! I had heard great things about it, so we gave it a try. First thing we noticed, the huge selection. I ordered a coconut donut and a twist. My husband also had a twist. Their donuts are fresh and large! My favorite: the coconut!! If you are at the Mae Anne location do yourself a favor and just go into the Walmart bakery the quality is better as well as the price. Wife brought home ham and cheese croissant they looked like souffles. The Joe was not flaky no butter separation at all. About a tablespoon and a half of ham and cheese in the center. $10 for two . That's absurd. The quality has gone down big time. A few years ago at least it looked and tasted like a croissant. Starbucks , any grocery store bakery. These guys blow arse. read more

Dough boy donuts really seemed to up the game on donuts. They have the classics but the execution and quality is top notch. The donuts were fresh and fluffy. I haven't had a donut in ages but after seeing the quality a the peanut butter roll I had to indulge. The roll was everything a peanut butter addict wants. We love these doughnuts let me just say that but the thing that makes my visit less enjoyable is when the employees mood changes when we dont leave a tip. This isnt the first time ive had an employee change their mood when I dont leave a tip its been multiple occasions. Dough boy gives consistently great donuts. Large. Filling. Flavorful and affordable. Going in with the kids was a quick thing. Even though it was busy with the after church crowd we were served quickly and they had at least 4-5 people behind the counter. Always nice helpful young upbeat people. I had never noticed they have chocolate and almond croissants. I'll def be back to try those. We had a tigers tail, chocolate bar, and pumpkin cake donut with crumb topping. All were top notch, as to be expected. The only thing that's missing from this place is a good cream filled donut. I don't like usually cream filled. I have tried theirs and it just doesn't do anything for me. I've been trying to track down a similar cream filling from a place that I went to as a kid growing up for years. It has left any other cream filled donut disappointing and not worth my time or calories. Came by to grab a fresh collection of donuts for my Bible Study group. These were delicious and given that it was the end of the day they had an amazing selection still available. The price is excellent and the service was kind and attentive. They helped select great looking donuts and offered up some of their favorites! Holy shit do NOT come here after morning time. The three dudes who work at night SUCK. Exceptionally rude; literally sighing the moment I walk in. One cashier had to tell his boy to go to the back and he'll handle is. We called in an order in the morning so we can treat the hospital staff tonight with donuts. Not only did they not pack it all at picking the last of the stale donuts despite MORE THAN TWELVE HOUR NOTICE. They didn't even get the order right ham fisting left overs into the boxes. We happened to be close and decided to grab a dozen donuts for a Christmas event at the Elks Lodge. I had no time to bake and everyone loves donuts. This must be a popular spot since we had to wait a bit, but everyone was so kind, we did not mind. We got a mix of several types and my favorite which is apple fritters. Price was good and the donuts were a hit and gone in no time. The Elks was putting on an event for families and since we are Elks members we were told to bring desert. Eight tables were full with cookies and cupcakes and we brought the only donuts so they were gone in a flash. I got to have one and it was good and fresh. They had such a great variety of donuts, big cinnamon rolls, and every doughnut that you can think of they even had some danish as well. My first taste of Doughboys was a few years ago. On my way to church or just the gas station, I would grab coffee and a donut. The smell of the bakery was great to wake up too! In August 2023, I got Covid for the first time. Though it was a mild 2 week case, I lost my taste and smell for a month. That devastated me because I didn't know when it would return and that would affect my reviews. BUT, one day in September 2023, I took a chance. I wanted to eat a donut, whether I could taste it or not. I walked into Doughboys and I could smell the bakery!!!!! You know what that meant?!?!? I never write reviews on anything but I felt like I needed to today. I've been to this location several times in the past year and felt a shift when I walk in. I don't mean to pull the race card but after today I felt a little disappointed. The man was perfectly fine when the previous customers came in who was notably a lighter complexion to me and was very polite to them. However, when it's my turn he raises his voice, yells "WHAT?!" is impatient, and drops the change in my hand and goes on his day, "no thank you come again" no "have a great day". Service is always great at this location. My kids were craving Doughboys and asked me to stop and pick up a half a dozen on my way home. Their favorites include: jelly filled, chocolate sprinkles and crumb raised. My go-to is their chocolate chip roll. I'll have it at least once a year. This shop is my family's favorite. Doughboy donuts, you're still the one that I love. The donuts here are fresh and the perfect consistency of dough and air and sugar and deliciousness. I haven't had another donut in Reno that even comes close to the freshness and consistency of the ones I get here. I do wish they'd explore some new flavors and experiment with some new concepts, particularly with their yeast donuts. I love the basics but sometimes I feel like doughboy is slightly behind the curve with some new offerings. Not a whole lot, but maybe a few new options like cinnamon sugar, something with Nutella, definitely something with biscoff cookie butter, a coffee cake crumble donut, blueberry crumble donut... and some seasonal options like pumpkin or ginger spice? We tried to hit this place up the night before but the hours weren't updated on Yelp so they were already closed by 8 pm. We woke up with donuts still on our minds so we went back in the morning and I was a little disappointed. They had a really large cinnamon glazed twist but it was underwhelming. Not soft and fluffy like it looks it would be. It was kinda hard and cold. My boyfriend liked the maple bars but he even said it himself - you could put maple glaze on a shoe and he'd think it was the best thing ever. As a local, and having been here multiple times even since I was a kid, the donuts here absolutely rock! They do not and cannot compare to anything else in town because they truly are the best. Fresh, never stale, and they lack the oily film that many other places in town have on their donuts. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodate their customers very well.
