I have passed this donut shop a million times over the years. We were in the neighborhood and my kids asked to grab a doughnut. I almost never say no because I want a bite. This is an established doughnut shop in the area with lots of foot traffic. It appeared to be family run and was fairly busy within minutes of arriving. Prices were better for our economy. I let my kids twist my arm in buying a dozen to try. Their doughnuts were great. We mixed and matched some of our usuals at other local shops. Jelly filled, Bavarian and oreo just to name a few, but we were surprised to see they had other flavors like pineapple coconut. In addition to serving smoothies, they serve milk teas. I wanted to order a few, but the line got long. There were grumpy people behind us yelling for faster service. Their card reader/network was slower when I checked. I couldn't wait to get out of there. My favorite part of this experience was their filled doughnuts weren't that sweet. We'll have to stop in again next time we're in the area.

I grabbed a quick bite at The Jelly Donut's South Virginia location. I've been coming to this location for years but this is the first time I've actually sat in the shop and ate my donut. Most of the time we pop in to get donuts or their filled croissants because it's conveniently located next to the laundromat. When I walked in to the shoppe, they were devoid of customers, but the snell of freshly made donuts filled the air, and display case full of tempting delights; so, I immediately stepped up to the counter and order an apple fritter and a small coffee. The proprietress was super-nice and pleasant; she welcomed me as soon as I walked in and rang up my order with a smile. The apple fritter was huge, I thought I would be able to finish it but ended up saving half for later. Overall, my dining experience was pleasant, the donut was fresh, the coffee was good, the service was great and the price very reasonable: less than $5 for everything including tip; I don't know how this place isn't more popular.

This is one of those great old-school donut shops that is open 24 hours and serves up the classics. We stopped by early on Thanksgiving Day to grab boxes for the volunteers at the local Turkey Trot. The lady behind the counter was so welcoming and put three boxes of assorted donuts together with a lot of care; she made sure to put in a good variety in each box. These are not those fancy donuts with inflated prices, but the ones I grew up with: glazed, sprinkles, twists, and my favorite, crumb. The Jelly Donut has been around for a long time; you can tell that the shop is older, but that's fine as the donuts were great!

This place is awesome! So many donuts to choose from and the couple running the place were so sweet. We chose a few of our favorites to have later and got a few for breakfast as well. The apple fritters were bigger than my hand and were wonderful. Prices were great and this place being open 24 hours is something pretty special and rare. If you're in the area and you're having a craving for a doughnut this is definitely your place. They're fully stocked in the late afternoon and I'm assuming it's the same in the evening. Just look for the old vintage sign and come on in. It really has a donut shop and not just a laundromat on this corner.

This is a solid OG donut spot. Open 24/7, fresh donuts all the time. They have an assortment of your traditional donut shop favorites and they also carry some fun options too. Maple bacon, coconut pineapple, and apple or cherry burrito are a few "different" options you can try. Whatever you get, their donuts are always consistent, you know what you're getting. A dozen for $13.99 is a pretty good deal for fresh donuts. They added a few extra donuts for free, which was very kind. Customer service is great! Very friendly and quick! They have tables and chairs inside, if you're looking to eat there. Otherwise, you can be in and out to pick up donuts. This is definitely the neighborhood go to donut shop.

Driving around taking care of some business in Midtown and had a craving for a doughnut. I've been a while since I had one here. I always liked the apple fritter and the bear claw. Go let us know when they were making the buttermilk donuts (around midnight) Get some fresh out of the fryer. Still hot. They would literally melt in your mouth. Always was a great late night snack lol. I know they changed owners a couple of times so not sure the baker's schedule. What I got: Apple fritter Bavarian cream filled chocolate Cookies and cream filled The apple fritter was a bit overcooked as you can see in the picture. A little crunchy on the outside edge other than that, Good donuts for a good price. $2.25 for the larger donuts. counter was pretty nice so all around a good experience

This donut shop has a wide assortment of donuts and sandwich selections. I went in just for a coffee and a donut. I chose the apple bear claw. It was so large and loaded with filling that I could only eat half. Maybe next time I'll try their cake donut or donut holes. The staff was friendly and served us quickly. There is indoor seating and a small parking lot out front. I went on a Saturday at lunchtime and the small parking (shared with Coin Laundry next door) was almost full.

    GO GET SOME NOW!

I was a bit skeptical about trying Jelly Donut's chocolate donuts topped with Fruity Pebbles, but wow! That crunchy topping totally won me over! The chocolate donut itself is rich and soft, and the Fruity Pebbles add an unexpected, satisfying crunch that makes it stand out from any donut I've had before. Holy cow! That crunch on top is next-level. Now, about the apple treats the ginormous apple fritter is everything you want in a classic fritter: crispy on the outside, fluffy and tender on the inside, with pockets of sweet, cinnamon-spiced apple throughout. It's huge and indulgent but not too heavy. Then there's the huge apple burrito -- a flaky, light pastry rolled around a generous filling of warm, delicious apple goodness. It's perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness and spice, and the flaky layers add a lovely texture that makes every bite a delight. Both apple treats are amazing in their own way, and I can't recommend them enough! We got a dozen donuts haven't tried all of them yet but the ones I did try are Scrumptious. If you haven't tried Jelly Donut yet what are you waiting for go get you some! Enjoy!

The decor, building, and ambiance are dated, very dated. That being said, the prices are good, and most importantly, the donuts are always delicious and fresh! The parking lot is tight.

While driving around Reno for the past 20+years, I've seen The Jelly Donut thinking this place must be great since they've been around so long. We'll tonight we finally tried it! There was seating available inside, but seemed a bit cluttered. Didn't matter much to me as we were trying to grab and go. I didn't see any jelly donuts available...my rule of thumb is to get whatever the place is named after when possible, but I did get a crumb cake donut and a small coffee. The donut was excellent, very well balanced, not too heavy or too sweet. As well as soft and fresh. The sign said open 24 hours, and I could see the mixer in the back filled with dough for what I presumed is the next batch. I would definitely recommend this one if you haven't tried it. I ordered a small coffee, which required a new pot to be brewed, and.... I would skip the coffee next time. We did see this cutout on the way out, so I had my wife jump in for a pic. She did...in fact...deserve a donut.

Jelly Donuts! Great selection of donuts.

We went for our donut fix and we weren't let down. Great service and really good donuts. We had a few jelly filled and some classic styles as well. They were all really good. Not really my scene inside but great place to grab a few donuts for staff or yourself. If you are in Midtown please check them out.

    Blueberry fritter

The blueberry fritter was $2.50 and was without a doubt one of the best fritters I have ever had. This is the deal of the century. Excellent brown crisp on the outside. Crunchy along the rim, moist and chewy inside, plenty of fruit. This is something you would expect to find at a boutique donut shop. Amazing.

    Grant H.

I was jones-ing for some donuts, and as I was near midtown/Plumb, The Jelly Donut was the place to go. This long-established donut shop still provides a great value when you need a fix of chocolate old-fashioned or a cake donut. Parking can be hit-or-miss, but there is both front-side and back-side spots. The people are friendly, and you can get a good assortment of choices if you get there early.

The Minced Pork Dumplings, however, were not for us. I believe the flavor of the Chinese leek may have been what turned us off. I can't say I've ever met one I didn't like. Heck, even the 1/2-priced day-olds have a place in my heart. Have you ever put a donut in the microwave for 20 seconds? The display cases are full of beautiful sprinkles and glaze and peanuts and bacon... yup, I was eye-balling that Maple & Bacon! I requested a mixed dozen. Then I saw it... the sign read "Sausage, Jalapeno and Cheese kolache." Ooooh goodness gracious, it was the biggest kolache I'd ever seen. And Id never seen one in Reno or Sparks. They do grow things bigger in TX. I know cuz I lived in Deep East TX. But this is Sparks, NV, and I want to try this. I've eaten a kolache or 2 or 500 in my day. He even offered to warm it up before I asked. I wanted this to be good, no I wanted it yo great. To be the "Whete have you been since I moved back to NV?" it wasn't. I was disappointed. The amount of filling to bread ratio was way off, in my opinion. I expected a sausage, not 6-8 sausage "coins" wrapped in a 7" x 5" dough package. It was soft, and the color was so inviting. We ordered the Dust Storm: a vanilla milkshake with chocolate bits, topped with a giant blondie skewered dramatically on top, plus whipped cream, sprinkles, and chocolate drizzle. Honestly, the presentation was on point and exactly the kind of milkshake kids dream about. Which is why we ordered it. My tween declared it "the best milkshake I've ever seen in my life," and honestly, that alone made it worth the stop on our mother-daughter trip. Taste-wise, it leaned very sweet for me and didn't have a ton of flavor depth beyond sugar overload. But clearly the goal here is maximal fun and aesthetic, and they absolutely nailed that. The ice cream was very good, especially the Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Very unique flavor and great texture. The blondie was a bit of a letdown. First, the blondie was not "sizzling". It wasn't even really warm. Only placed in a waffle iron for a few seconds. Second, it seemed very dry and crumbly, maybe even overbaked. I thought the ideas at Black Rock are fun, and I think trying one of their milkshakes should be my next visit. However, there are a lot of great ice cream spots in Reno. For just ice cream, I think there is some heavy competition.
