I was very excited to try doughology after many of my yelp friends said how amazing it was. And I guess they are amazing depending on your tastes. If your expecting a light airy doughnut you won't find it here. Doughology makes theirs more of a dense cake type which I don't particularly care for. However my dad completely would disagree and say that they are better this way. It's all a matter of taste. I mean who doesn't like doughnuts regardless of their consistency? After trying 6 different kinds I would have to say the maple bacon was definitely the best. My problem with this place isn't the doughnuts but the wait to get them. I'm sorry I understand that they are fresh which is great but, waiting 30 minutes for any doughnut seems insane to me. I also have to applaud the young girls working the counter. Finally a unique donut shop by me!! I found this place on Yelp when I was craving something sweet and I'm so glad I found it. I've visited this place twice in the past 4 days haha. I've seen previous reviews where people had to wait for a very long time before being helped, but luckily I didn't run into that problem. The ladies who work here are so so kind and they actually prepare the donuts as you order them, so you can watch them add the toppings and stuff. You can tell they take pride in making the donuts look good because they take their time to prepare them! My favorite donuts I've had so far were the blueberry cheesecake and apple strudel ones. I try not to leave reviews this bad but the donuts were not good. They were overdone, which really should've been the red flag. Covered in whipped cream, caramel, cut in half and stuffed with more overly sweet (and honestly big box store tasting icing). I've had donuts from Dough, Doughnut Plant, Donut Pub, and Fan Fan...so I know donuts and these were over compensating for the donut itself not being very good. Although I really enjoyed the coffee here, I feel like the donuts are good but nothing special. Maybe because I like more fluffy donuts I'm being biased but I feel this are just too sugary. Long Island has been long overdue for a specialty doughnut shop, but good things come to those who wait, it seems! The first thing I noticed was that this place is bright and squeaky clean, impressive for a place where dough is fried all day. It didn't smell greasy at all; instead, warm dough, vanilla, and cinnamon greets you along with the friendly smiles of the welcoming staff. Those pleasant scents are only a preview of the goodness to come in the form of perfectly palm-sized, light, fluffy, non-oily cake doughnuts topped as you like for $2.50 or as they suggest for a mere $2--marginally more than frozen-dough chain store rings. I'm normally a yeast doughnut kind of girl, but I have to say, these cake doughnuts have got me on the fence. They were splendid. They weren't thick, dense cake like sour cream/old-fashioneds, crumbly like a muffin, nor powdery soft cake like Entenmann's. They're more like a more robust yeast doughnut with fewer air bubbles. They definitely have a character all their own, which makes it hard to describe. I mean, I read reviews by other yeast doughnut enthusiasts, but I just want to put out there, it's only fair to comparing apples to apples, and this is definitely an orange :P The toppings are great and inventive, and I love that you can swap out the base of any of them for chocolate or vanilla as you like. They use real Reese's PB cups and Oreos (no knockoffs!), and bakery-grade fruit pie filling for the toppings. The maple bacon was a particular standout for me (and, evidently, many others!), with thin-cut NOT BURNT/NOT GREASY *real* bacon on top of a thin coating of slightly sweet maple glaze. I've seen maple bacon go very wrong before--this place does it right. The lemon coconut is also not too sweet, with just the slightest hint of lemon and plenty of coconut. The cheesecake one is delicious, too, with a homemade cheesecake filling that's fantastic topped with fruit. The churro was just recently added, and makes for a fun whipped cream sandwich (because we should all be so blessed to have whipped cream sandwiches in our lives). There's also a Nutella sandwich one ... and vanilla or chocolate ice cream sandwiches now, too, if you really want to treat yo'self. You can also use one of their rotating special colored doughnuts whose proceeds go toward the noted charity as your base. (Love that they do a lot of this.) The coffee is also as yomz as reported, and I love that they source it from a local roaster in Island Park. The owner told me that East Coast Roast roasts in small batches to order just for them, which falls right in line with the small-batch, made-all-day doughnuts at the shop. Fancy fresh? Why yes, I do. I haven't dove into the rest of my box yet, but this is probably already way too long without me going into an in-depth taste test. People have been raving about this place..... On a whim we decided to cruise over there on Sunday morning. We walked in @8:52am not realizing they open at 9. The girl who greeted us was friendly, but then another woman came out of nowhere and basically scolded us for being early. She remarked, "We will do our best to help you, but we don't open until 9!" Wow this place was hoppin! I went on a Saturday afternoon, and was greeted with a crowd of eager doughnut fiends. I read some Yelp reviews before going so I was aware of taking a number rather than standing in a line, but after that, I was at a loss for what to do. I made my way through the crowd towards the front, looking for a checklist form that my Yelp friend Christina mentioned, but no forms in sight. I asked a girl behind the counter and she said when your number is called, they'll fill out a form with you. New operation, so hanged happen often I guess. Overall, I waited 20 minutes for my number to be called and I ordered off the wall of saliva inducing doughnuts. Was it worth the wait? YEP. Do they need to improve their ordering structure? ABSOLUTELY. I would suggest a couple of iPads in the front, programmed to take orders, then give you an electronic number. But that's just an idea. It would make the process faster if people weren't confused bc of a lack of direction and an overwhelming job that the staff behind the counter have. Good coffee (5 stars) but the donuts are not good at all. These are not gourmet donuts, they have pre-made donuts which they add toppings too. I've had gourmet donuts and sad to say these don't come close. I would recommend working on making more exciting toppings with fresh fruity flavors and actual make the donuts fresh daily. Great location and staff was very friendly, although I don't appreciate workers wearing casual street clothing when they are at work. There is significant emphasis on creativity and offering up options that you might not find elsewhere. The staff is extremely polite and helpful. The lady asked for $15. I said why. She said because the doughnuts with filling are an extra .50. Where does it say that? It doesn't, I forgot to tell you. Customers in Lynbrook have been telling me that I have to check out Doughology, so when I was in there area yesterday I stopped by.  Thankfully, I was there when there were no lines, so I was in and out pretty quickly. I only had two specific requests, so I asked for a dozen based on the photos on the wall.  Because each one is made to order, it does take a bit longer as each set of toppings is placed on top of a donut. I can tell you based on my clients' response that the wait is absolutely worth it!  They all loved them. Even the ones who usually abstain from sweets were all over these treats. They cut them up so they could share and they gave big thumbs up to peanut butter and jelly and the apple strudel.  Other favorites were lemon coconut and peanut butter cup.  I snuck a bit of frosting from the French toast from the box and it was outstanding.  I often bring treats to my customers and I have to say this was one of the most overwhelmingly positive response I have seen. Jackie the owner was very helpful and it's nice to see that she has such a big hit on her hand.  She told me one customer rode his motorcycle down from Connecticut just to get some of her donuts.  I don't ride motorcycles, but I would say her donuts are definitely worth the trip! Stopped in Friday night after dinner with my boyfriend in RVC. We have been dying to try this place because we heard it was great. We came in originally going to get an donut ice cream sundae, but unfortunately they did not have any ice cream which was kind of a bummer. We decided on getting a half of dozen donuts that way we could sample all the different flavors. We ended up choosing French toast, maple bacon, s'mores, oreo, apple strudel, and churro (which is a new flavor!). All the donuts looked beautiful and I like how they made them right in front of us. Favorites: Oreo, Churro, and French Toast Least Favorites: S'mores (donut was too fudgy and too heavy like a cake and it did not really taste like a s'more just had a few marshmallows on top), Apple Strudel (not bad, but nothing special the other 3 above were better) and Maple Bacon (this is the one my boyfriend came for and he found it to be his least favorite. It was just a plain donut with maple syrup and a few pieces of bacon on top) Donuts are $2 each, when we bought 6 it was only $10. Pretty good price for specialty donuts. I was super excited to try this new donut spot (major sweet tooth problems). It fit the "cute dessert spot" criteria with mini-ish donuts, a variety of yummy flavors (S'mores, Twix, Oreo), funky tables, and friendly employees. However the execution was sub-par. They seemed to have two types of donut types--vanilla and chocolate based. The vanilla one was pretty good. It reminded me of apple cider donuts (without the cider flavor). The chocolate one was too heavy/cakey. My favorite was the maple bacon. The S'mores had a few marshmallows on top, but other than that it wasn't S'mores-like. Really great spot to get some freshly made donuts. It tastes a lot better than those that come from a chain like Dunkin' Donuts or Krispy Kreme. Very diverse pre-made selection and you can also make your own as well. My favorite will always be the blueberry cheesecake and my mom loves it as well. Thank goodness donut shops are essential and I was able to place an order for contactless delivery on doordash. Even if we weren't in isolation, I would get them delivered bc the parking is a bit difficult (their Babylon location has a parking lot though). I ordered 1/2 dozen since gyms are non-essential and closed but now I regret that decision, definitely order 12. My order came out to $20 with tip and was delivered promptly (30 minutes). When I opened my front door, I saw the box on my front porch. I thought they would have been in a sealed bag or something. The box wasn't even taped shut. That was my only concern with ordering it via delivery, wish my box was sealed/secured more during times like these. The donuts were delicious and fresh like always. These are not your average Dunkin Donuts style donuts. The donuts here are more like cake donuts. I love the French Toast one the best but all of them are good. Perfect Sunday afternoon spot or early morning go to. You immediately get the aroma of the fresh baked doughnuts the second you walk in the door. The staff had a great handle on the incoming orders from customers who were clearly looking forward to what they were ordering. Pure Donut Heaven. This place is every foodie's dream. My boyfriend and I came here yesterday and got a dozen of their "express" donuts. We didn't try all of them yet but the ones we tried were amazing. The best so far is definitely the Churro one! And also, $19.50 for a dozen donuts is really not that much money considering the great quality you're getting. I also had an iced cold brew, which was nice.
