Im a big dessert and doughnut person. Im from the city where theres tons of great doughnut spots. I wanted to give this place a try. Normally I wouldnt walk in any buisness with an OLOGY at the end but didnt want to judge a business by its name. As soon as I walked it the store smelt like PURE BASEMENT. I knew it was a sign but continued to purchase and try them out. The doughnuts looked sad upon purchasing two with a coffee. I come home and I kid you not " the plastic coffee lid and devil dog doughnut" taste like basement. Something is oddly wrong with this place. Something is off. I swallowed one bite of the doughnut snd sipped my coffee telling my partner it all taste like basement. He looked at me and said "thats why I walked in there with you and didnt order anything". How do you fix this...I have no idea. $20 down the drain or shall I say down the basement. I've been wanting doughnuts for 2 weeks and I forgot that this spot existed! My sister was the one who discovered this doughnut place a few years ago and I've been here 2 times. The doughnuts are fresh and sweet! I thought that it would have been a little bit bigger but unfortunately not. The doughnut itself is dense and sweet. The fruity pebbles on top is the perfect pairing! I like the rasberry jelly doughnut but again I wish it was bigger. I was a bit disappointed in these donuts. I was super excited from what I saw on Instagram and the donuts themselves left me underwhelmed. I ordered the peanut butter and churro donut. I wasn't aware that they build the donut right there and then. I'm use to better donuts in Manhattan. Thankfully these donuts were not overpriced. $5 for two donuts. It's my first time going to a donut shop that specializes in donuts so I was extremely excited by just walking in. I noticed the spin wheel which I may try next time but I was rushing to get my donuts. I decided to try the maple bacon donut which has real bacon! It tastes like caramel and syrup with some bacon on top ( it's extremely sweet ). I also created my own donut from the donut bar. I decided on a vanilla donut dipped in chocolate, covered in chocolate crunches, baked coconut flakes and topped with whipped cream. It tastes so creamy and amazing I can't get the flavor out of my mouth. I prefer my create my own over the maple bacon which had an interested taste, same goes for my boyfriend. My job paid for them to bring a food truck to our place. Everyone seems to really like there's but they got custom made donuts where I got a signature donuts the "s'more" It is pretty dry. I wont even finish it. Again everyone else seems to enjoy there's so maybe it's because it was sitting for a while on the food truck. Doughology is an awesome local business that is also delicious! The donuts are so creative and tasty that it's impossible to buy just one. I always end up leaving with at least a dozen! The toppings are fresh just like the donuts and this is absolutely reflected in the taste. I usually cut the donuts into pieces so I can eat one of every flavor, this way I never miss out on something. My personal favorite is the simple confetti donut. I'm not too adventurous when it comes to dessert, but I've tried almost all the flavors and have never been disappointed. I also would recommend the raspberry crumb cake. The raspberry jelly was warm when I purchased it and it made the donut taste even more delicious and addicting. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of these donuts they are just THAT good. I also love Doughology because they are extremely involved in the community and always giving back, including fundraising for Texas hurricane relief recently and raising money for breast cancer awareness during the month of October. Who wouldn't want to spend money at a place that does so much for the local community? This one of the many reasons I will continue to come back and give my business to this place for hopefully years to come. Been wanting to come here since May and finally made it 2 months later. I came here for the rainbow donuts. There were none. There are only rainbow donut on Sundays ): Call before you go. Ended up getting half a dozen donuts just to try this place out. Six donuts for $10. A dozen is 20 and one donut is $2. I got a box of churro, cheesecake with blueberry, crumbcake with raspberries, lemon coconut, Nutella chocolate crunch, and maple bacon. The Nutella chocolate crunch donut was the best. The cream has a really rich chocolate flavor. Also great for photos. The crunchies make the donut really fun to eat. The churro donut was very easily inhaled. It is super light and has a nutty seasoning to it. Good, but not my favorite. The cheesecake was my least favorite. I don't love the cheesecake frosting, but I appreciate the amount of blueberries that were piled on top. The maple bacon donut smelled the best out of them all. Better than the maple donut at White Noise which we trier earlier this week. The maple scent is strong. The balance between sweet and salty is perfect. The crumbcake is messy to eat, but has great flavor. The lemon coconut donut is my second favorite. The lemon flavor in it is strong and the donut itself isn't as sweet as the others. Other menu items include donut nachos, donut sundae, Doughology fun dip (nuggets), doughnut chips, toasted donut with butter and jelly, breakfast with french toast, soup of the day, coffee, tea, cold brew, and hot chocolate. There are a few coffee options : Colombia (Medium Roast), Kenya (Medium Roast), Rwanda (Bold Roast), and Sweet Dreams (decaf) This place had more customers coming in and out than I had expected for a Thursday morning. I can't believe that the amount of air conditioning there for an 80 degree day was so low. All the chairs were empty. We wanted to sit longer, but as I was trying donuts, it was so hot and soggy in there. Hard to enjoy a perfectly crafted donut in this heat. My cream cheese is melting! We sampled 3 donuts and went home to finish the rest because it was so hot in there. The decor was sort of basic. Quotes everywhere. I liked the Doughology definition on the wall. There is a machine out front (making donuts)? Not sure. It wasn't labeled, but it was moving the whole time we sat there. Parking: There is a huge parking lot near Plaza theatre and also on the other side of Doughology where St. James church is located (back of Miller's area). That's 3 hours of free parking. My first encounter with Doughology was via their donut truck. After trying their samoa donut, I knew I had to come visit their store. I have to say initially I was a little upset with the service. The line was chaotic and the folks working the line were not very interactive or helpful with taking orders. A few of us were waiting in line for over 10 mins before someone looked up and told us to fill out a form to order the donuts... information that should've been shared with us the moment we walked in. nonetheless, aside from the lack luster service, the donuts were GREAT! my favorite was definitely the churro donut. Not too sweet and the perfect amount of cream. I love that each donut is constructed to order. The donuts are dense but the feel light with each bite. I also had the apple crumble and the lemon coconut, both of which were super delicious. This is the coolest little doughnut shop. They have an amazing variety and basically, you can get whatever doughnut your heart desires and add a bunch of different toppings. They have a little area to sit and eat your doughnuts. We actually had a play date there on a cold winter Saturday. We must have been in there for 2 or 3 hours and the employees were more than nice. I was really looking forward to trying these doughnuts. I got there and I have to admit, the menu was very confusing. I ended up ordering 4 doughnuts, 2 glazed, French toast and apple crumb cake. I asked that the frosting not be put on the French toast, but she said couldn't do that, yet she piped the frosting on. I was surprised to realize that there is really only 1 doughnut flavor and they put different frostings on it. They were way too sweet and I ended up tossing them out. Donuts!!! If you love these famous little pastries in any way, you MUST visit Doughology. Why you ask? Well, Doughology offers gourmet donuts at reasonable prices. Choose any one of their signature options for $2/donut (or $10 for half a dozen), or create your own concoction (vanilla or chocolate base, any sauce to cover your donut, and any 3 toppings) for $2.50 each. Either way you choose, all donuts are prepared fresh in front of you (including one of their 12 signature options). They also offer mini "donut of the day" options for $1, as well as donut nachos and drinks. How do these donuts taste? Awesome! I personally have tried the devil dog, mint chocolate chip, and my own creation, as well as the French toast and peanut butter cup. To me, the flavor delivers a 4/5 rating, but the options and uniqueness deserve a 5/5. Prices here also warrant 4/5 stars because of the very fair value! What are the downsides here? Not many. The only downsides really are the hours (personally I would come here around 9:00 some nights, but they close as early as 7) and the wait. Again, these folks are making donuts from scratch, so the wait is completely understandable (and worth it), but if there are many people in line in front of you, it might take a while before you're out of the store. So if you're in a rush, you might want to opt for another donut stop. Still, if you have the time, it's worth it! Service is also great here! I'm really starting to lose it for this place. I love the idea behind the business (it's hard to find a fresh, decent donut) and I love that it's a local business. However, coming here always results in frustration. Firstly, a few months ago, I waited and waited as one customer was being assisted. I just wanted one donut before catching a train, but having only one person working the counter (who was making an elaborate box of donuts for a customer) meant that I stood there for far too long, and eventually had to walk out empty-handed. Today, the store announced that three specialty donuts would be available and I decided to give them another shot. Their Facebook states you can call ahead to reserve donuts but being that I live very close by, it seemed easier to just go there myself. When I got there, there were two people ahead of me. I waited and waited as they each got elaborate boxes filled up. Worst of all, I watched as the staff filled donut orders for people who weren't even THERE. I literally watched as they almost ran out of specialty donuts because customers who made a phone call took precedence over the customers who were PHYSICALLY there. I'm sorry but if you're going to have limited quantities like this, you simply can't take phone orders left and right and deprive your paying customers who are right in front of you! I was lucky enough to have it okayed that I could have some of the few cannoli and St. Joseph donuts that were left (because, again, so-and-so needed donuts held to the side). I just watched the majority of the staff fill phone orders in front of a now LONG line of people. I walked out with $22 worth of donuts and frustration. We had such a wonderful experience this afternoon, this corner storefront is well deserving of a 5 star review. The owner and her kids are so courteous and patient, they are very attentive to their customers along with being very kind and helpful. The Sunday special of the cannoli filling donut ($3) was delicious and extremely decadent. We also got the donut sundae, with the Nutella donut and a scoop of vanilla ice cream (~$5) and that was devoured instantly. Being that we drove a little ways I was kinda expecting to be blown away, but quite frankly I wasn't. There were 2 women working behind the counter, one whom I believe ran the place must have been having a bad day, because she was lacking some serious customer service skills. Amazing. My wife Michelle and I stopped in on Friday after hearing about it through some friends. First, the smell when you walk in is outrageous. Very clean, busy little corner shop with very friendly staff. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and I must say she's the nicest lady around.
