I also highly recommend Dr. Douglas Huhn's office in the SoDo area if you are looking for a new dentist. My dentist still has not opened since the COVID-19 shutdown so I requested an appointment based on comments in Yelp. I had my appointment in 2 weeks time and got Dr. Doug and the fantastic Marta as my dental hygienist. (FYI-Marta only works on Fridays so I made sure I booked my second cleaning with her. Another hygienist heard me complete Marta and she stuck her head in to state "Isn't she great?!" Now, that is a great team!) The office took both my primary and secondary insurance (BCBS and GEHA). Along with Dr. Doug, the staff is very friendly and appropriate precautions are taken for COVID. Dr. Doug is very easy to talk to (and laugh with) and after x-rays and his examination, stated I should just keep doing what I'm doing. I told him I would definitely be back; I felt extremely comfortable the minute I walked in the door. It is also a "family" practice as Dr. Doug's father started it. Dr. Doug's son is also a dentist there and his nephew is planning to join the practice. Look no farther for an exceptional dental experience! read more

I highly recommend Dr. Huhn's office! My family have been patients for many years, our GP recommended Dr. Huhn, because that's who he goes to for his own dental care. We have a child with ASD and a more patient group of practitioners would be hard pressed to find. Everyone from the office staff, the dental hygienists (shout out to Donna!!!!!) to each and every Dr. Huhn (there are several, as this is a true family practice) is exceptional. I got a thank you note after visiting the dentist! Who does that?! What kind of bizarro world is this? I get my teeth taken care of, and -they- mail -me- to let me know they appreciate my stopping in? Let me back up... The gum in the back of my mouth (y'know, behind the molars) had been sore for about a day, and it got worse. Brushing my teeth didn't seem to help, nor did flossing. Eating -definitely- didn't help... although imbibing did, somewhat. Shocking, right? Eventually, the pain got so bad after about two days of getting worse that I was having a hard time falling asleep. I don't do well without breakfast. I -really- don't do well when I don't sleep. Then I started thinking... this is so not a good time for one of my last two wisdom teeth to finally be coming in. My body hates me. After running down the list of service providers on my insurance plan, I found that the Huhns were the only ones readily accessible to Downtown, and were able to squeeze me in that afternoon of the day that I called. Yes! Don't be alarmed... the outside may not look like much, and the waiting room is, shall we say... cozy? But it just all adds to the charm of the place. I wasn't seated for more than a few moments before Dr. Huhn walked in to see me. He may be old enough to be my grampa, but Dr. Huhn's still got it goin' on! I had never before in my life been to a dentist's office where they can take an electronic X-ray of your teeth and it immediately showed up on a computer monitor! Cool! Fortunately, we determined that my wisdom teeth weren't actually about to imminently erupt through my gums. It was just a minor infection/inflammation, likely from something sharp getting stuck between my gum and my tooth. Whew! I was handed a script for some antibiotics, and that was it - in and out in under twenty minutes. But wait. It gets better! Not wanting me to wait until I could make it to a drugstore to fill my prescription to start on my drug regimen, the doc brought out a pill of amoxocillin while one of the receptionists went to fill a cone of water (who still has those things, anyway?) for me. Another thoughtful gesture that I've never experienced at any other dentist's office I've been to in my life. Not that I intend to need the services of a dentist in Orlando ever again, but I feel fortunate to have stumbled upon one as great as Dr. Huhn. My teeth are once again pain-free and happy. Good thing, too... 'cuz as we've already covered, if I don't eat breakfast, I am -not- a happy camper! read more

I have a hard time giving ANY dentist a 5 star rating - I mean they are dentists....having said that...I could do no less for Dr. Clete & Dr. Doug! I have been going to them since 1980. My regular dentist of ten years said I needed a root canal. I stopped here for a second opinion and Dr. Clete said there was nothing wrong with that tooth. I did not go back to the first. Unfortunately I only realized how awesome this office is after going somewhere else! When I started a new job, unfortunately my new insurance didn't cover Dr. Huhn's office, so I reluctantly went elsewhere and had a terrible experience. I quickly learned my lesson and am even paying out of pocket to go to Dr. Huhn's office now. I've been going to this dentist office for 15 years and it had rapidly declined. I recently had gingivitis in my mouth and wasn't notified whatsoever by Dr Huhn. He grinded away at the gum line on multiple teeth after all he said was that he needed to put in 2 fillings. Still weeks later I was not notified I had gingivitis. Even when I called him personally myself he said "you needed gum work" but wouldn't say much more. Two more weeks by and I get a paper in the mail saying I had gingivitis. This is the second time I've went there and he's messed up. This is coming from somebody who has been attending this establishment since 1999. I would highly recommend to not go here as I wouldn't wish any dental error on anybody not even my worst enemy. read more
