My mother purchased a very beat up Prius during the pandemic when it was difficult to find any decent cars. The front and back bumpers were incredibly dented and scratched up with yellow and blue streaks of paint. There was also scraped paint on the sides and a deep dent on the front passenger side. Even the plastic shield under the front of the car was broken in pieces and dragging on the ground, with the plastic shield above the front passenger tire in similarly poor condition. To top it off, one of the fog lights was shattered. My mom was so embarrassed to drive this car. I duct taped over the deep scratches and scrapes, and even used the tape to hold parts of the bumper flush with the car. She called several body shops to collect quotes for repairs. Sergio at Doug's Custom Paint & Body offered a reasonable quote and seemed very knowledgeable and kind. We entrusted him with repairing the car and were not disappointed. Sergio ordered all the necessary parts, we brought the Prius in on Monday and picked it up in markedly better condition on Wednesday. Not only did Sergio completely replace the front and back bumpers with matching paint, and install intact plastic shields to replace the broken ones, he also thoroughly cleaned the headlights and brake lights as well as the interior of the car. He popped out the deep dent and painted the rough portions. In addition, Sergio took the time to properly remove the remaining duct tape and all the sticky residue. My garage door didn't open all the way and I ran my 6-month-old truck into it... scratching the h*ll out of my roof. I went to three shops on a Monday before I went to Doug's. One told me they would call me back later with quote, never heard back. Another told me it would be $75 to polish it, but I had to wait til Wednesday. Two others told me $125-150 and to bring it back Wednesday or Thursday. At Doug's, the manager, Sergio, polished my roof while I waited for about half an hour and I paid $40. Wow, I'm thankful that I took their advice, because our cars look amazing! The damage to my son's Mazda 3 bumper looks like it NEVER ever happened. The dings and damage to the back of the hatch on my Volvo XC90 looks like it NEVER ever happened. They even made some custom paint to take care of small scratches. I took my 2021 Corvette to Doug's shop to repair significant body damage to the right side of the car. Doug and Sergio did an outstanding job of matching my metallic tint coat paint color and the quality of the work was so good that it is impossible to tell that it had been damaged in the first place. In August 2016, after a deer ran into my Mazda Miata from out of nowhere. Such a scary experience!! Amazingly enough I only needed a new front bumper and front fog light which I realize could have been soooo much worse. From the second I was scheduled with Doug's Custom Body, Sergio was ready with my claim and immediately had me set up for a rental car. He was in contact with me and the car was ready and perfect within 2 days. The front bumper and light looked perfect and the paint which is a metallic blue was perfect. Very happy with entire experience!! Unfortunately in February 2017, I was stopped at a signal to turn left and the Ford F-150 in front of me decided to put his car in reverse to which his tow hitch hit my front bumper again! When I called my insurance company to report the claim, I made sure I was able to go back again to Doug's. Sergio and Doug were both very helpful and accommodating and I am very happy once again..... just hope I do not need to get any more front bumpers on this car, but if I do I will definitely go back to Doug's! They were very dishonest with me. Got a quote for $1500 for a new bumper. They said given the damage, it would be highly unlikely the current bumper would be repairable. Said even if it is repairable, I'd save a hundred or two, making it roughly $1250 or so. Went to get a second opinion and the other auto body shop said that ANYBODY with any knowledge about cars would know that due to the point of impact, there was no serious damage and the current bumper is easily repairable. Damages were only cosmetic. Only paid $650! Don't trust these guys and go for a second opinion! read more
