I would give Dov more stars if I could. Dov delivered the best customer experience I've ever had with a skilled tradesman in NYC. He was very prompt in his response and was able to come out same day. He did a great job of explaining what his process was going to be, and making sure I understood it and was aligned prior to diving in. He also did a great job of updating us as he learned more, and explained what possible solutions could be. The job ended up being more complex than anticipated, but Dov brought me along at every step, even showing me video of exactly where the problem was coming from. I had the misfortune of getting a leaky toilet on a Saturday night, I reached out and left a message to the owner asking for a quote. Sunday morning, before I was even awake, the owner had reached out and asked for photo and video of the leak so that he could provide an accurate estimate. I provided the requested items and the owner was able to provide a quick quote, and schedule a technician to come out within 3-4 hours. The technician arrived at the beginning of the appointment window (thanks!) after giving me a 20 minute heads up phone call. Came in, wearing a mask d/t COVID, put on little footies to keep my floor clean, and was able to fix the leak within a few minutes, had the right part with him in the bag. Polite technician, quick on the job, nice person. After the technician left I noticed that there was still a minimal amount of leakage from a different area of the toilet mechanism (flushometer), and texted the owner. Without hesitation the owner promised to send the technician back after his next appointment, and would remedy the issue. Plumber came back a few hours later, fixed the problem in a few seconds. Overall I'm very happy with the service, polite and professional. The estimate is on the high range (but not higher than all others I had tried), but the reviews sold this company for me, and even though like I said, it was a bit higher, I feel the professionalism and quality of the work speaks for itself. Nice guy and all. I have a ton of roots and a single vented trap. He cleared the drain but said it needed hydrojetting, a new trap etc. bottom line.. I was charged about $600 and had to have another company come clear it again less than a month later. That guy spent more time clearing and with a larger machine and charged only $225. From my husband: Imagine you're a handy person, so you attempt to replace a faulty toilet shutoff valve yourself on a holiday. After having trouble desoldering the valve off, you've sprung a leak and you can't keep the main water line off because its a large building and other apartments are affected. It's an emergency, on a holiday, and clearly a professional was required-- in comes Dov to save the day. He coordinated coming by within a few hours and swiftly removed and replaced the faulty valve before the bathroom flooded. He then explained what I did wrong, which I found incredibly educational. My bathroom sink was clogged and my kitchen sink started leaking, so I reached out and they immediately responded, requesting photos and video. I sent them over and he gave me a preliminary quote (but more importantly, he also informed me that depending on the source of the kitchen leak, it may be a more expensive job than quoted). The technician arrived wearing a mask and put on booties and gloves to enter my apartment. After snaking my bathroom sink, he went to work on the kitchen sink leak. He patched it up and left, but soon, it was leaking again; so I called back, and the technician returned. He taped it up even more and said the shelf was pushing down on the pipes. After he left, the leak got significantly worse! I couldn't wash dishes without emptying the bowl under the sink within 2-3 minutes. I reached out again and this time, Dov asked for more pictures and came out to us. As he initially suspected, this was a more serious job. He offered to refund us our money or we could pay the difference, now that the entire plumbing under the sink would need to be done. We went ahead with doing the entire job and now, under our sink looks great, but most importantly, NO MORE LEAKING!! We gained some additional storage space because he moved the pipes further back towards the wall, used heavier pipes that wouldn't rot as much, streamlined the pipes so less loops and less junctures that could potentially leak in the future. I would highly recommend working with them and have added them to my list of professionals when something needs to get done in our house. Although slightly expensive, the quality of the work was impeccable, the professionalism, and the commitment to having happy customers speaks volumes and was worth it. We have had DOV out to work on several different issues for us and they are always professional, on-time and the jobs are always handled and fixed in a timely manner without any issues. I am so happy with Dov-- If I ever need a plumber for anything, I'll be calling him. The pipes in my apartment are old and corroded, but I was having this problem where the waste water from the washing machine was backing up into the kitchen sink. At first he thought we might have to replace the pipes. But he realized the solution was much simpler and had to due with the placement of the hose going from the machine to the sink; it was placed too high, and so he repositioned it. My point is Dov is smart and knows what he's doing. He can accurately figure out what the problem is. And he won't try to overcharge you by recommending something you don't need. (Such as replacing all the pipes under the sink--which I was prepared to do, because they were in bad shape)--but he was able to recognize that that was not causing the problem; it was the mistake that another plumber had made from before (--who I won't mention in this review, because they're also on Yelp and I don't want to cause trouble-- [But this other plumber also had high ratings on Yelp, so beware. Not all well-reviewed places are equal.] But Dov is excellent at what he does. And Dov fixed the problem caused by the previous plumber. He's capable, competent, smart, honest, straight-forward and hard working. I respect him highly and would say he's the person you should call for your plumbing issue. read more

I have to say that our new go-to plumber Dov has been great for the following reasons: 1. Can call him for same day service and he actually shows up. 2. Not only does he show up ready to work but on time, sometimes even earlier than his ETA. 3. It takes him less than half the time to fix leaks than other plumbers that we used in the past for many years, who only put a bandaid solution on our problems so they could milk us for more money. I'm very happy with the service Dov provided. I had leaks in my bathroom faucet and shower. He quickly responded to my call and requested photos of the leaks. He confirmed that I would need a new faucet. Once I bought a new faucet, we scheduled an appointment for the next day. Dov carefully installed the new faucet and replaced the plunger in the sink. I am a long distance landlord so the logistics of sorting out home repairs is a challenge. I am always looking for vendors and service providers that I can trust and work with long term. I believe Dovie is a trustworthy, dependable, and professional plumber who I will be using in the future. My tenant had complained about sewage smell in her bathroom and we were not sure what the problem was. I contacted a couple plumbers on yelp and ultimately decided to go with Dovie. Here is why Dovie will be my go-to plumber 1. He took the time to speak to me, the tenant, and also offered to speak to the super BEFORE coming to the apartment in an effort to diagnose the problem. This meant that I did not spend the minimum $150-$180 that many companies charge just to have someone come out. I was apprehensive about that because then at which point you are effectively locked in because you've already paid them to come out. 2. He was responsive by message and communicated with the tenant to organise a visit. He did have to reschedule but it seems like he showed up at the appointed hour.
