Dr. Kostura and Dove Canyon Optometry are truly fantastic! My husband has been coming for a while and always raves about them. Now I know what I've been missing out on by doing the Costco thing! The preliminary diagnostic tests are never my favorite part but Dr Kostura made it a pleasant experience. My exam was quick and painless. He's the consummate professional and a genuinely nice guy. He knows what he's doing and is incredibly thorough and clear at explaining what's going on with my eyes. I tend to ask way too many questions and he was so patient at addressing all my concerns and making me feel at ease. Dove Canyon Optometry has an excellent selection of frames. My optician, Alyssa, was really helpful and patient as I slowly weeded out the frames I didn't want and eventually arrived at the frames that perfectly fit my style and comfort. I appreciate Alyssa's input and encouragement throughout the process. When scheduling my appointments and answering all of my silly questions, all the staff members were nice and courteous over the phone. I've been a patient here for more years than I can remember. Dr. K. Is professional, thorough, and engaging. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. Recently Dr. K. asked if I would be interested in glasses strictly for use with the computer, no pressure at all. I often had to slightly tilt my head or push my glasses up, depending upon where I was looking at the screen and where I was sitting. I decided to get computer glasses. They are life changing! I've always received first-class service from his practice since beginning to see him four years ago, so much so that I've convinced my wife to switch to Dr. Kostura and she's quite pleased with the results (e.g. contact lenses didn't work out for her once, so they easily transitioned her to eyeglasses; also, she tried "computer glasses" recently and they didn't work, and she was able to get regular progressive lenses instead at no additional cost!). My roommate and i drove from West LA to visit Dr. Kostura. That alone should speak volumes about Dr. Kostura, his practice, his expertise and his staff at Dove Canyon Optometry. Upon walking in the door, we were immediately greeted by his professional, friendly, helpful and very patient staff. Dr. Kostura himself is kind, thorough, patient and intelligent. He patiently listened to the concerns i had regarding my eyes. He performed a thorough exam in which he actually obtained the prescriptions of 2 of my old glasses to see what i had been prescribed by my former optometrist. We discovered that both glasses actually had the same prescription...which i had not been aware of. Dr. Kostura also took the time to kindly explain my prescription to me and what was really going on with my eyes. (My former optometrist had said i was nearsighted, then on the next visit, said i was farsighted). Needless to say, i walked in to Dr. Kostura's office quite confused about my eyes and whether they are nearsighted or farsighted. During the exam, i even learned a new word "Presbyopia" (i asked him what it's called when my mom needs to wear her reading glasses - b/c i know it's not 'Cataracts'). We even quickly reviewed 'Rods & Cones' b/c i asked if this machine he used to look in to my eyes to check their health could see my Optic Nerve? My Rods & Cones? To which he then proceeded to tell me of a neat way to tell how i could really witness my eyes using their rods & cones! You'll have to visit Dr. Kostura so he can tell you too! it's pretty neat! Towards the end of the exam, Dr. Kostura even put together a makeshift pair of glasses that i could look through to get an idea of what my new glasses will do for my eyes. Better equipped with knowledge about my eyes, i was ready to shop for frames! Dove Canyon's Frame selection is amazing! My roommate and i took about 1.5 hours to finally decide on our frames - there were SO many brands & styles to choose from! My roommate and i really wanted like 2-3 pairs each, but we behaved and only chose 1 style each. The staff was extremely patient and kind during our choosing process... Dr. Kostura and his staff are also very thoughtful and definitely go the extra mile to take care of patients. They noted that it would not be convenient for my roommate and i to drive back out again to pick up our glasses so they offered to mail it to us for free! This place is amazing! As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the incredible staff. The young staff in the front really treat you like royalty and are always willing to answer any questions you may have. They did a quick eye exam before the actual Doctor visit. Within 2 minutes post pre-exam I was greeted by the Doctor who was so kind. Dr Kostura took time to examine me and spent time asking me about my daily life. Everyone just seems genuinely kind. I have been coming to Dove Canyon Optometry since Dr. Kostura took over the business years ago. I have had such great experiences there, I would never think to go anywhere else. Dr. Kostura really takes the time to get to know his patients and make us feel at home. Every time I come in, he asks about work and my daughter and my other family members. His staff has also been wonderful. The office girls are really knowledgable about the frames and products. I really trust their judgment in helping me choose frames. I also really appreciate how conscious they have been with my billing, especially when I didn't have any vision insurance. Love the glasses here. Yes expensive but also brand name a worth the money. Customer service is wonderful here. I always buy my glasses here. They take insurance, which helps pay for my Couch, Tiffany, Vera Wang, Oakley, etc... They will replace your lenses if scratched with in a year after you bought them. Working for a customer service orientated organization I have an idea of what is good customer service and what is exceptional. In all honesty I have to say Dove Canyon Optometry is one of the most professional and courteous places I have ever experienced. Not only were they able to get the exact frames I wanted even after the style was discontinued; they also were able to correct my the lens after my original optometrist made a huge mistake on my prescription. Not only did they take the time to see what the problem was but they were able to fix it in a timely manner. We've been going to Dove Canyon Optometry almost since they opened. They have always been easy to deal with and competent at their job. We have never had a bad experience. Most of my experiences with other optometrists over the last several years have seen them try to extract every single dollar out of the customer with overpriced products that virtually swallow annual allowances on far less than what you could get on the open market (i.e. Internet retailers). Not so with Dove Canyon, they actually work WITH you such that you can get the MOST from your vision policy. Better yet, they do the legwork for you. Great experience! Even though they broke the frame on my glasses, they corrected it by giving me a new pair. They let me choose any new frame up to $200 (which was about 40% of their inventory). After the lens, it was probably about $350 out of their pockets. They were also able to epoxy my old ones together too! So now I have 2 pairs. Accidents happen and they stepped up and did the right thing. read more

I have been here twice, my husband twice, and my oldest child once. All 5 times, we have been pleased with the service of the staff. The front desk employees are friendly. This place was not only extremely expensive but felt more like you were conducting business than vision care. The doctor has a very dry personality and didn't really make me feel better about my vision problems. They took more time selling me glasses than the actual doctor visit...Although the staff is very kind, they are all about selling the most expensive eye wear, they automatically go for the gold instead of starting out with a modest option. My vision has gotten worse since I purchased my glasses there so that's concerning. I will not return there or recommend this place to any friends or family.... read more
