My wife purchased two pairs of glasses from this shop--one regular pair and one pair of sunglasses. While the regular glasses were fine, the sunglasses had issues from the very beginning, as the lenses frequently came loose. Because of this, we had to visit the shop at least five times for repairs. When the problem persisted, I requested a lens replacement. At that time, the shop explained that they would insert a special material between the frame and the lenses to solve the issue once and for all. They also promised that if the same problem happened again, they would replace the entire set of lenses. All of this was handled within the warranty period. However, when the same issue occurred again recently and we visited the shop, we were told that a replacement was no longer possible because the warranty period had expired. This was very disappointing, as there had been a clear promise that the lenses would be replaced if the issue recurred. From a customer's perspective, it felt as though the trust we had placed in the shop's word had been broken. I am writing this review not simply to express dissatisfaction, but in the hope that other customers will not experience the same inconvenience. I also sincerely hope that this shop will place greater value on keeping promises made to customers and maintaining trust in its business practices. By listening carefully to even small inconveniences and responding responsibly when problems arise, the shop has an opportunity to earn greater trust and positive feedback from its customers. read more

This is a great place for eye care! My husband and I both go here for our glasses and vision care, and the doctors and staff are tremendous. I have been there for 2 different optometry appointments (2 years apart) and the exam and discussion with the doctors have been thorough. The first appointment was with Dr. Fong, and the second was with Dr. Brian (? I can't remember the name), and both were terrific! Clear explanations to my questions and thorough review of my eye care. The staff worked with me both times to pick out new frames. This last time I was being especially indecisive, so two of them offered to help me decide on frames. Just amazing customer service! I've been going to Dr. Fong for around five years and I can't believe I never left a review. Dr. Fong is amazing. He's always very patient and kind and makes sure my new glasses or contacts make me feel the most comfortable and tries to give me tips on how to keep my eyes healthy. My last few optometrists were super pushy and righteous about what was correct for my eyeballs and left me feeling super uncomfortable or still impaired with what I got. I didn't know any better! They would ignore my complaints and just tell me I'd get used to it. Dr. Fong showed me its totally possible to have contacts and be comfortable. He always looks for possible solutions to any problems or discomforts I might have, it feels like he really cares T_T Every visit has been a great visit and I feel blessed to have been referred to Dr. Fong! 100% recommended! Late review over due. I went here in 2019 I believe to get an eye check. Appointment with dr fong was impossible to get, so I got an appointment with another dr who was very nice and charming. She checked my eyes and then I went to get my glasses from this guy who greatly advertised the glasses they had and told me how mines were not good at all and how they have the best selection. And how they will never get scratches on them. All good till now until I got my glasses wore them and started getting headaches. Turned out my sight number was wrong. So called in to make appointment and saw the same dr who changed some numbers around and then had to get new glasses. Glasses came back were good for week or two but the started to fall off and got some scratches on it very quickly very much against what the guy at the counter advertised Went back to get them fixed and then I was told I will charged extra........at this point it was just plain frustrating.....false advertising through and through. read more

Wow! This is our second year with them and they are amazing. The whole staff is super friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I take my 5-year-old and they always explain every step which helps calm her down a lot. Dr. Fong has been incredible. By far one of the kindest doctors I have ever met. This place is great! I accompanied my brother for his eye appointment and his first try in wearing contacts. The doctor was very friendly and gave my brother his undivided attention. He wasn't rushing at all and definitely took his time to answer my brother's questions, making sure my brother was comfortable and understanding the whole process. The lady that helped my brother practice putting his contacts on for the first time was very patient and supportive of my brother. She took her time as well, explaining everything to him, making sure he understood the steps on cleaning and putting on contacts. I had a excellent experience for my first time here. First of all they have COVID protocols in place and things are wiped down so it feels very safe. I was greeted by the optometric assistant as soon as I walked in the door. I didn't catch her name, but she was friendly and very helpful. She clearly explained the forms I had to sign, insurance related stuff, and each of the tests/machines. This practice has very nice and up-to-date equipment/machines. They had some tests/machines that I've never done/seen before at other optometry offices. My appointment was with Dr. Brian Fong and he was great. Sometimes it's hard to tell between number 1 and number 2 (you know what i mean lol) but he was very patient and went back and forth and tested different prescriptions to make sure I got the correct prescription. He is also very knowledgeable and open to answering questions without being arrogant or condescending, unlike the previous optometrist I went to. He listened to my concerns about having dry eyes and made contact lens recommendations based on that. Overall, the whole examination and lens fitting process was very thorough. This was the best optometry visit I've ever had. Completely satisfied with the care I received. Thank you! read more

I have been going to Eye Care West for 4 years and I've never had a bad experience. The staff members are extremely courteous and Dr. Fong really takes his time and carefully explains everything. An example of how courteous they are: 2 years ago, my frames were accidentally broken. I took them back to Eye Care West and even though it was my fault they broke, they helped me find a new pair (very tricky when trying to replace frames with existing lenses). The staff member spent about 1/2 hour just helping me find a pair that were similar in size so that the lenses would fit. Then, she gave me a discount even though they were not on sale. There are a lot of optometry places to choose from and it's hard to select one. Thus, I hope the above helps anyone looking for a new optometrist. read more

I'm happy to report that the quality of care has remained consistent over the years and we have not had a single negative experience. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! My family and I have been seeing Dr. Anthony Huang at the sister office in Bellflower for more than 8 years and I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Huang. Dr. Huang is so knowledgeable (Berkeley grad!), so very personable, and you always feel very cared for. He has young children himself, so he is very good with my kids and they really like "Dr. Tony" (my 2-year old calls him "Dr. Pony"). I've only been to the Foothill Ranch office once and had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Fong and his staff, and they are equally as competent and friendly as the staff at Bellflower. I would feel very comfortable having my eyes cared for by either Dr. Huang or Dr. Fong. (I hear they have another doctor so their reputation must be preceding them and they're getting more customers! Good for them!) When I visited the Foothill Ranch office, I saw that they had a great selection of frames and contacts and the most recent diagnostic equipment, so you know you're in good hands. I've been looking for a new optometrist for a while, and now I think I've finally found him. Dr. Carelton Fong was recommended to me, and let me just say, I am not disappointed. Dr. Fong is friendly, easy going, and professional. Moreover, he's knowledgeable and takes the extra time to answer your questions. His administrative staff is also very courteous and professional. For glasses, the frame choices are also pretty good, better than a lot of other places. However, because the store is small there is a limited selection on display.
