Dove was recommended to me by my hair colorist and I trust her judgment so went to check it out one Saturday morning for a spa pedi and manicure. The issues I had may very well have been because I went on such a busy morning, but regardless... I was greeted nicely, picked my color then sat in the pedicure chair. The woman did a decent job, though the callus removal was not good. In my experience, spa pedicures always have a thorough callus removal. The pedicure comes with a 20 minute massage which is done by actual reflexologists (exciting!). The issue is that the woman doing your nails doesn't give the massage. There was a backup in the massage area so she painted my toe nails before the massage! While the polish didn't get smudged, the shiny top coat became dull from the saran wrap they put on my toes before the massage / paraffin treatment. I didn't appreciate that. Then the manicurist started my hands while I was getting the massage. She removed my cuticles while they were dry, which was painful. She also tried to paint my nails in the dark massage room but I told her that I wanted her to paint them at a table. The redeeming factor of this visit was the owner who was very gracious and attentive. Bottom line is that I would like to try this place again but will probably go after work one day when it's likely to be less busy. read more

I have been going here for 6 years. The owner, Lee, is as nice as it gets. The staff is very accommodating and the complimentary massage is generous. A friendly voice on the other line of the phone call assured me they could take a walk in on very short notice. The moment I walked through the door, I felt like a queen! The "upsales" some people griped about were FREE! They did not cost me anything more with my Spa Pedicure or Manicure! This spa is wack. Services are meh, usually rushed. The staff, more specifically the front desk, is a horrible combination of cheesey fake and straight up rude. It's uncomfortable. The regulars are treated really well so don't be fooled, they're just like fake fabulous like they live in bev hills.. I was there with a friend and they were really pushy between the upselling pressure, rushing to the next service, and hushing us for talking to each other not at a whisper. Massages are very good. So my first experience at dove nail salon spa will be my last. My girlfriend and I walked in and the place was completely empty ( I was excited, I thought for sure it would be a nice relaxing experience) we both wanted a toe nail polish change and a gel manicure ( aka shellac). First of all the polish change the lady said was so difficult to do...well if it's hard then get a different job .....this is what she does for a living. There is nothing different about my toe nails but I let that go. Moving onto the gel manicure she sped thru the whole thing left air bubbles and didn't clean off edges before setting it. I have always had good experiences with manis and pedis at Dove. The spa is clean and they have a great selection of polishes. The women are friendly and the guys who give massages are AMAZING. I usually come to this salon when I need a great massage. Paul gave me a 20-minute neck and back rub the other day. It was truly fabulous. Very clean place. Highly recomanded by my friend. But my manicure was the worest ever. Painted on my skin all over. It didn't even last two days because it was painted not right.The manicurist had very bad attitude. She was really mean when i asked to clean nail polish on my skin. I've tried a few nail salons in Norwalk and even though Dove is a little bit more expensive (about $10 more for a gel manicure) I totally think it is worth it for the experience. This place is clean, they open new, sanitized tools for every customer and the massages are amazing. Staff is friendly too. I definitely recommend this salon over others in the area. read more

First, my husband had purchased a $75 gift certificate. Second, they argued with us each time we went to use the gift certificate. They said we could not use it for a mani pedi. Then we could not use it for a massage. And each time we did attempt to use it, the woman to whom you pay would demand - Yes, demand. Not ask. Demand- "You pay $12 tip!" or "You pay $25 tip right now!" When we tried to explain that we are happy to tip, but we decide the amount based not the quality of service, she would say things like, "You bad person." Each and every time we went to use part of the gift certificate, we were first told they did not want to honor the certificate. Then they did not want to acknowledge the remainder amount (Um, since when was a routine manicure $75 without a tip?). And then they would scream and try to extort money -in an amount that the cashier determined- as a tip. read more

I was taken to this spa as a birthday gift. As a person who does pedicures every three weeks, I thought I had a the best person to do the job. Was I wrong! Everything about this place was top-notch and clean. Bea did my pedicure and she was really good, but Bill...Oh my! I saw two gentleman standing by and observing the pedi's, but had no idea they were the massage part of the procedure. This was pure magnificence! Even after Bea finished my pedicure (which made my feet softer than they've EVER been), Bill massaged my shoulders/back while my toes dried. They probably should've paid me to leave! Pros: clean, friendly Cons: expensive; they rush you through, even when they're not busy. Went today for a manicure/pencure. Walked in at 9:32, was finished by 10:03. WHAT??????? They weren't even busy. Nobody waiting. And it cost $37.00 without tip. Upon closer inspection when I arrived home, I noticed cuticles left on my toes and they didn't completely remove my old polish, which was a bit darker than the light pink just applied. It looks crappy. I've got to learn to complain while I'm there. Idle complaining or posting reviews does nothing for me, but might save YOU from wasting your money. read more

I should've known better than to stay after walking into to a completely empty salon. The manicure that I was given was just okay. The polish section needs a major overhaul. Many bottles near empty. A few popular, sheer pink Opi colors were no where to be found. I had to do a bit of filing touch up after I returned home. My teenage daughter got a manicure as well. She was very unhappy with the filing and many streaks were left. Tech also asked "me" if my daughter wanted a massage while waiting for her nails to dry. I told her why don't you ask her? Horrrible place!! My my teenage daughter went in for a manicure and pedicure was excited to go by her self with her own money from her new job. They charged her $166.97 and she had a $20 gift certificate so technically they charged her $186.97. She asked them for a gel manicure and said she would pay the difference and wanted a normal pedicure . They completely took advantage of a young girl. She tipped them and when she was leaving the girl Jenny stopped her and said you have to tip the massager too. I went back to have it credited and have her just be charged for a gel manicure and pedicure and they were very unwilling to work with me I will never ever go back to this place again or recommend them I wish I can give them no stars read more

I want to love this place and I go back for convenience, but it always disappoints! They really don't care or show appreciation to repeated customers. The best part is the free massage they give when getting nails done. Not worth the extra money...pedicures dont last, gel doesn't last compared to other place and same with regular manicure. Really upset to read this nasty reviews! I have been coming to Dove for many years. I have found it to be the cleanest and the people the nicest as well as efficient. Every salon has up charges for additional services. You are not well versed in spas if you don't ask the price beforehand! The price fora mani pedi combined is best around for the most hygienic spa in FC. Pls do come and see for yourself! PS if you are not in a rush, just let them know you are there to relax. This is a top notch spot. I am a beautiful (people are kind to notice!) well groomed, lovely French woman. I also happen to have Type 1 diabetes. Utmost cleanliness is my goal for each service I get. I don't compromise. Ever. Dove Spa is the place for me. I am a regular and I encourage you to become one. Here's my tip: learn to say hello in Korean. Yes, show that you don't take good service for granted, show that you care, show respect and you'll see, I guarantee a wonderful service. Here's a phonetic way to say it: Aniang-aSeo. They did an amazing job, and I agree, this place is clean, but it was pricey, and there was no option to tip using credit card. I had assumed this meant that the tip was built into the price, as I was passing through Norwalk, and so didn't have cash on me (NY tolls took it all!!) When I left, a woman came rushing out to ask me to tip... saying there was an ATM inside. There was, but the fees between that bank and mine were $3.50. In other words, they don't want to pay credit card fees on tips (which would have been fine, if this had been explained beforehand, so I could get cash from a bank somewhere), and make the customers eat the fees. It was an extremely uncomfortable experience and I'm just glad I don't live in Norwalk so I don't have to frequent here. read more

I liked the look of the salon and the technician was very nice. I requested a set of gel nails that cost around $80.00. Within 4 days the nails were breaking and chipping. Some were coming loose at the corners. The next week I went to Fingernails, right down the street. The technician there told me I needed a whole new set. The nails were so bad they were not worth saving. $80.00 is a lot to spend for inferior quality. I will not return. read more

After my first time coming to Dove nails I will gladly say I won't be back. Although the service was good, I feel like I was being pushed to spend extra money. I went in for an eye brow wax, and was told that I needed my lip done too, after I politely declined I was asked again and told that it was only $10 extra, again I politely declined. While getting my manicure, I asked for just a regular pedicure with a callus remover. The woman who did my pedicure was very pushy trying to get me to do the spa pedicure for only $20 more, telling me that my feet and legs needed it. Once again I politely declined. Over the weekend I had cracked one of my fingernails, and I simply put crazy glue on it and that worked wonders. When I told the lady giving me a manicure that I just needed a dab of glue to hold my nail on, she responded that would cost me and extra $10. I politely declined and said that I would do it a home! $10 for a freaking dab of glue!! To make matters worse, when I tipped the lady, she told me it was NOT enough tip for her! Seriously?!? I didn't have to tip at all seeing as the service was far from what I would have expected! That is ridiculous! I really feel like I was being pressured into spending more money than I wanted to, and the people who work here won't take no for an answer. I don't like feeling pressured to spend more money, therefore after my experience here, I will not be back! read more
