The fee was acceptable and paying was easy with Venmo, Cash App and PayPal. We talked liked neighbors for about 30 minutes when he was done fixing it, as he regaled me with colorful mower stories which convinced me he knows his business. Mower runs great so far. So I was happy with the end result. Jim has a unique business edge. He makes house calls. This is a big deal when your mower won't run and you have no way to get your rig to his shop. If I was running his business, I would push this advantage. At first, I had called a backyard mechanic but had to find a way to get my tractor to his house. That was a deal breaker. Then I called Earl's Place and put that worry to rest. The key, however, is patience and acceptance of some odd business practices (in my opinion). I called his number and got his voice mail which said to call the office number. I called and the woman at the other end said to text him as that's how he prefers to communicate. I texted and he texted back quick enough. But business by text?! Next, he showed up when he said he would to diagnose, then said he had to order parts and said he will see me the following week. Three weeks went by and I finally called him. He said I was on the schedule for that day or next. He showed up ahead of schedule and fixed the problem with a quickness. But I would have been more at ease if he had called or texted with an update in those 3 weeks I waited to hear from him. I would def recommend Jim and will call him again if I have a problem. Have faith in your fellow man, have some patience, and see what Jim can do for you. I trust him.

I have not received the bagger or any contact from this business since about the status of this order. I wrote letters on 6/3 and 7/3 requesting a refund - no responses. On 8/3 I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Please beware of doing business with this company (dba Weeks Services, Jim & Son Corp, Jim Knox owner).

He understood the problem situation and responded with agility to adjust scheduling and fit us in. The appointment required troubleshooting and precision with installation, and they greatly exceeded our expectations. In fact, they always have. Morton's could have easily charged for an expensive repair; however, their integrity led them to guide us to replace an obsolete appliance. This well company drilled my well about 4 years ago. During the summer of last year, (3 years after…read moreinstall) I noticed that there was a LOT of water accumulating about 15 feet downhill from the well. It continued down the incline and flooded my driveway made of millings causing quite a bit of damage, so I decided to dig a French drain system. I hand-dug around the well, about a foot down I could see water bubbling out whenever the well pump cycled. Shutting off the electric, I dug down to find the metal coupling/reducer that comes out of the well column and connects to the pipe that feeds the pressure tank in the house. Turning the electric back on and running the water, I could see water shooting from this connector. A LOT of water. So it became obvious why the yard and driveway were constantly flooded into a marsh like state. Called Smyrna well and explained the situation. He said he would come out two days later in the morning. When I called after he didn't show he said that they blew a hose on their digger and he needed to fix it. Long story short, I was blown off at least six times for various reasons and he would never show up as promised, nor call to explain why he didn't show and try to reschedule. I always had to chase him and try to get him to come out. I decided to hire a plumber that came on high recommendation. He was able to determine the problem just by looking at the part with the hole and the part exiting the well it was connected to. The part coming from the well was made of brass. The connecting part with the hole was made from galvanized steel. (see photo of part with hole caused by electrolysis) He said that a very basic rule in plumbing is to not connect two pieces of dissimilar metal as they will create a condition known as electrolysis which will eventually eat through the metal and cause a leak or total failure. Seems that galvanized was cheaper, so no thought was given to the headache it would cause the homeowner later. Very little consideration given to doing the job correctly, and even less to providing any form of after support. I gave the well company owner over a month to come by and fix this issue, and he never showed nor called to let me know the status of when he could come. After a month, I got tired of waiting and called a professional. If I ever have to drill a well again, I will use a company that knows not to use dissimilar metals and will guarantee and fix the work they performed. Disappointed isn't a strong enough word for what I'm feeling about this situation.
