Both were really good and prepared perfectly. This diner gets incredibly crowded, for good reason. It is a short ride from Hudson which I am sure brings lots of traffic to the diner. During peak meal times it can get very crowded and there can be a wait. They do have plenty of seating, both inside and out. The ambience is very chill and welcoming. We are always greeted upon entry and the waitstaff is attentive. The outdoor space is lots of fun. We noticed that they have brand new picnic tables outside. They also have a bunch of raised beds for flowers and vegetables. The cocktail bar is open and it is very nice to get a drink and sit in the garden. We have been there previously where they serve food. It is a great experience on a beautiful day. It is dog friendly. Clearly, I love this place. It is a place that I would visit again and again. The menu changes every so often and everything I have tried is fantastic. I would highly recommend that you visit.

I have to apologize that I did not write my review sooner for the Taghkanic Diner. This place is…read morejust a n extraordinary culinary delight in the world of diners (It's not really a diner as we know one to be.) It was right off the parkway and we thought it would be a nice place to stop for lunch. We parked right out front and made our way inside. A wonderful team greeted us at the door and sat us in a booth. It appeared that everything in this diner is "smoked" because most everything in this diner is smoked by the "smoke-master" working outside. Our waitress explained the smoker is outside right next to the diner and we should stop by and say hello to the chef. We went right to the Smoked Pastrami reuben and potato salad. This was just awesome. The pastrami was just so savory-tasty-moist. Our friend had the pulled pork sandwich. (same description as the pastrami.) The bread they use is also awesome. A delicious rye. Just loved this place. So unique and different than a lot of places I usually go to. They have a ton of seating outside and this would be the perfect stop when it gets a little warmer. They also have music on occasion and also showed movies outdoors during the height of the pandemic. This will definitely be on the route for the next trip to Albany. KUDO's to the team here at the diner.

My family spent several days at a rental home a mile or so from Gracie's and, naturally, had to…read moregive the local diner a try. Gracie's is an elevated diner experience...all the breakfast and brunch things you could want, but up a couple levels from a classic greasy spoon diner. Not dissing the greasy spoon diner experience...love that...but this is based in that historical experience, with an overall nicer experience in terms of food and atmosphere. Also, before we get into the specifics, here are 2 words which would bring me in from just about anywhere: Donut menu. Yes, they make their own donuts here, and that's enough reason to stop in, take out, or worship at the front door. We got our donuts to go after the meal...The coffee was GREAT. Too often, coffee, which should be the opening star of a diner experience, can be flavorless, browned water. Here it was good. Bold as I needed it to be, and the perfect foundation for the rest of the meal. My next go-to if they have it brunch experience is biscuits. They have them...you can get a biscuit on its own or, heck, go for a mini biscuit basket! I live for a biscuit-forward establishment. The Full Breakfast (submitting biscuit or potatoes for the meat) would have been my choice, but I decided to roll my own and ended up with a biscuit, fruit cup, and side of Hash Browns. The biscuit was good, large, and perfect with butter and honey. They make the hash browns to order - large hash brown patties - and with 2 different orders of them at the table, one was overcooked, too brown, and not impressive...but the other was perfect and delicious...bordering on potato pancake territory in presentation and flavor. Our server was fantastic...we had a large party encompassing 3 different tables in the middle of a Sunday morning (On Easter no less), which is, of course, the busiest time of the week. She was friendly, enthusiastic, and never made us feel rushed. If I found myself in the Hudson Valley again, Gracie's would be a definite destination for me.

Service was very friendly. We loved the avocado toast, the burger sliders, the tuna melt and the house made sodas! The food was fresh and you could tell it was made with care. Both tables and bar seating available. Plus they have a nice selection of beer!

My family felt a bagel would make a great mid-morning breakfast/early lunch option, so we gave Hudson Bagels a try. Each of us was quite pleased with our experience! The fella that greeted us upon entering was nice and helpful in guiding our selections. The bagels were fresh and as good as any NYC bagel I have ever eaten. My family and I couldn't have been happier with our visit. The only downside was the limited amount of indoor seating available, but that's not a complaint--rather, just something to know if you're planning of stopping in for a bagel. If the weather is cold, the outdoor seating isn't likely an option. I highly recommend Hudson Bagels! If I ever make it back to Hudson, I'll visit this shop again! :-)

One thing I noticed about these bagels is that there's a lot of seasoning on them. All the bagels in the display seemed heavily seasoned--whether it was everything, garlic, onion, or whatever, they were covered in it. The bagel itself wasn't bad. I've had worse down in the city, so I was pleasantly surprised. Not as much chew as I'd like, but still tasty.
