This was surprisingly our first time eating at the 9W diner and definitely not our last! For 10am on a Sunday morning they were quite busy but the staff was hustling and they accommodated our party of 5 within a few minutes! Our server was super patient with our kiddos, really friendly and on top of our order! Their price point and quality is one of the best in the area. We had a variety of pancakes, omelette and kids meals; everything was great! Little things like the fruit cup is fresh cut fresh, not canned/Jared and the sausage is no little links, nice fresh sausage links; overall just a great breakfast for our group. Plenty of parking, and seating in two very clean dining rooms.

Great new spot in Saugerties. The food was fresh and lots of options to choose from. I've eaten here twice and our third visit will be soon!

Very cheap food, fast service, and a nice little diner with a big bar. Glad I went, and I'll make sure to go back again.

Food was pretty good overall (typical diner fare, nothing over the top) and the service was very good.

For this reason, I decided to go with an Arnold Bennet skillet that included smoked trout. If you at all like the thought of lox and eggs, then you definitely need to try this one. It also had Parmesan, chives, and crème fraiche mixed in. The taste of this combination on a piece of toast was delicious! And something I would happily enjoy again and at reasonable prices. Plus, it was enough food that I finished it for breakfast the next morning. The seating area looks and feels like a typical NY diner. Our waitress was quick and efficient and the coffee was good and fresh. Especially with the limited number of dining locations in the Catskills area, Phoenicia diner is definitely worth a stop.

The decor, from the booths to the lampshades, seem like they haven't changed in decades and are in excellent condition. The tables have tops that have obviously been replaced at some point, as they aren't the expected laminate, but otherwise it's like going back in time. We were looking for a traditional breakfast place open on a weekday (rather than a bagel shop or a place that only sells breakfast sandwiches), and this fit the bill. Service was efficient and attentive. They have a large array of menu items, but we both chose to get the breakfast burrito, without the meat. There was a bit too much potato inside for our taste, but others may prefer it that way. The side of salsa that came with it was delicious and made up for any lack of seasoning when we removed the salty meat. We would return when looking for a traditional diner with a large variety of choices.

I had the manager come over and an old lady came and I told her my pork was hard as a rock and I was showing her with the fork and she had the nerve to say "Well we have to cook it" And basically walked away! They should of 110% took it off the bill!! The one night I ordered open hot turkey sandwich and the gravy was boiling (literally) I had a burn on my finger for two weeks! It's definitely gone down hill-sad because I've been going there for many-many years!! Andy u should talk to your managers!! Not cool! First time they didn't hand us the bill- the brought it up to the register smh -

The diner has a nice retro feel and was very clean. We ordered the Eveready breakfast with three fluffy buttermilk pancakes topped with two farm fresh eggs, two strips bacon and two sausages, a feta and spinach omelette, and two coffees. I asked for the omelette to be made with egg whites but received a regular omelette instead, which was fine--it was still really good. Everything was delicious, but the fluffy pancakes with strawberry butter were definitely the highlight. We all loved them! The coffee was good as well. Service was attentive without being overbearing, which we appreciated. Our total came to a little over $40, which felt reasonable for everything we ordered. Would definitely come back if we're in the area again!

Today was a different experience; altogether! Some of the booths need to be reupholstered, the menus are starting to come apart, the waiter we had, could barely get the orders straight and to the table in a timely manner. It was if we were in a Gordon Ramsay Kitchen Nightmares episode and didn't know it. Pastrami could've been used as roof shingles, it was that hard. My order was supposed to come with potato salad and he brought macaroni. Duh. My friend ordered the pastrami with lettuce and tomato on the side. They put hot pastrami on top of a cooked tomato and no lettuce. Double Duh! Another friend of mine had the sliders. Yeah, they could slide just like a hockey puck can slide. They were just as hard and tough as a hockey puck. The Cole slaw looks like someone put it through a mixmaster. It had the consistency of sawdust; you couldn't make out the coleslaw from anything else that was in it. It looks like they're riding on their long existence and the Guy Fieri visit from DDD to bring in the diners. Come to think of it, it was odd that it was the dinner hour, and the place was practically empty. Doubt we'll be back.
