My trip to Hudson started strong with Kitty's! Located right outside the train station, Kitty's offers quick bites and pastries. I tried three items: the blueberry corn cookie, maple cruller, and the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. All were fantastic. The corn cookie was a novelty. It was crumbly and slightly gritty, as corn pastries tend to be. It wasn't too sweet. Although I'm glad I tried it, the cookie pales in comparison to the cruller, which was deliciously sweet, with crisp edges and a soft, custardy interior. The sandwich was great, as well. The eggs were fluffy, the bun soft, the bacon thick and crisp. It was good! If you're visiting Hudson, make this your first stop! read more

Juicy deliciously spiced chicken is here!! Very focused menu here and I love that.. means what they offer is what they do really well. Rotisserie chicken is their thing. You can get the whole chicken, half or quarter. For me, quarter was more than enough. If you get a quarter chicken, you get two sides. If you get half a chicken, then you get three sides. I feel like it should be the opposite to offset the amount of food. But honestly it was perfect, still a big portion. For sides, they offer crispy fingerling potatoes, cole slaw, market salad and butter rice. Their Cole slaw is amazing with that poppyseed dressing. And salad had a variety of greens and crunchy toppings with a light dressing. Also! The plate comes with two sauces - spicy chili oil (mild) and yogurt dip. It was all SO FREAKING GOOD. I'm a dipper so bring on the sauce! The drink offering is also abundant. Lots of craft sodas, botanical drinks, coffees and a full bar in the back. Ghia hit the spot for me. It's not cheap but for this quality of food it's more than worth it. For the vibe..it's a confused vibe. You order at the counter and sit down with a number to wait for your food. The decor is eclectic which I thought was fun. But the music.. it went from country to weird edm dance music. I think Kittys can gain a lot from a curated playlist. A very cute market right next to their restaurant - right across teh street from the amtrak station. I got the Vietnamese coffee cruller and the egg sandwich. Both were phenomenal and I loved every bite. The cruller was airy and the coffee glaze was sweet but aromatic! The egg sandwich had fluffy eggs, sauerkraut, some kind of sauce on a soft seeded bun and I added sausage... AND THAT WAS AN AMAZING SANDWICH. I would hands down come back if I visit Hudson again. We stopped by here for brunch after seeing their breakfast sandwiches online. Half of Kitty's is a market/cafe and the other half is a restaurant/bar, but you can take your food to the restaurant area for seating. We got 2 breakfast sandwiches - one with sausage and one with bacon, and an order of hashbrowns The hashbrowns were puffy potato balls, which kinda reminded me of the potato balls at Gregoire's in Berkeley! Would've loved them way more if they were served hot and crispy, but unfortunately they were room temp and a little stale :/ We liked the chicken sausage breakfast sandwich better than the bacon, but both were good! Two girlfriends and I were visiting another friend in the area and came to Kitty's for breakfast. It took us a minute to figure out that you need to order at the counter in the market side and then eat in the restaurant side. The line was pretty long when we arrived so we felt good about how tasty the food would be. And that was a correct assumption! We ordered several egg and cheese sandwiches which all came with sauerkraut and were delicious! This review is for the cafe, which two friends and I ate at one night recently. It was kind of like the Hudson River Valley's version of tapas; a good number of small dishes, which we ordered and all shared. But I get ahead of myself: They have an impressive bar, and we all enjoyed the drinks we had before dinner. Now that that's out of the way: We ordered Alex's plate (who doesn't love mortadella? Oh, right vegetarians and vegans; 2 out of 3 of us loved it...), chicken in a blanket (so freakin' good), the farmer's cheese with table bread, the pickled vegetables and buttered carrots (another table fave). My friends may have had the beets and cauliflower as well and enjoyed them; I don't care for either so can't judge! The great news about eating 99% veggies is you've had a good meal, but still have room for dessert! We shared the Banofee Sundae: labne ice cream, banana, dulce de leche, cocoa biscuit and torched Italian meringue. Neat! Stopped by this cute restaurant/market for lunch. There's a small sit down restaurant that's open for dinner and an appended market that's open for breakfast and lunch. Lovely staff, hipster/hippy vibe. The menu is very small but our orders were truly excellent. I had a delicious pulled pork sandwich served on a warm, crusty hero. I wouldn't have complained if it was 20% bigger. My wife loved her quarter rotisserie chicken plate. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The salad was deliciously different and perfectly composed. Even the rice was good. The market had an interesting selection of foods for sale. We're sorry that we won't be able to come back for dinner. If the menu appeals to you, go for it! read more

This is the 2nd time I ate at Kitty's Market in Hudson. It's across from the Amtrak Station. I've been here 2 times before during Covid where you order at the window and sit in the garden out back. I got their rotisserie chicken with sides. Fabulous chicken and sides. Recently, I ordered inside and sat inside. The prior time we had the breakfast sandwich and the traveling hash browns. Followed by their cruller. Cruller was like a churro. Very tasty. Today we ordered the eggs over rice and the salad and the traveling hash brown. We shared it. Was delish. We stopped by Kitty's Market during our weekend getaway at Hudson, NY. We really loved the atmosphere of the market. The outdoor garden in the back was the perfect spot for brunch or lunch with friends or family. There is also a restroom available if you need one! We knew we had to go because of the raving reviews of this spot! We were not disappointed by the food. Apparently Kitty's Market is known for their rotisserie chicken and they should be because it is SO GOOD. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was super juicy. We stopped by for breakfast and came back for lunch because the food was that good. We got to try their breakfast egg sandwich and the egg was perfectly made. The one critique that I might have is that the food was a bit on the pricier side for the amount of food we got. The egg and cheese sandwich with bacon came out to be around $9 and the half a rotisserie came out to be around $12. We got a side of extra nice rice which was a pretty small portion size for $5. If you have children I do not recommend coming here. There is no food for kids and the restrooms had paintings of naked people and their private areas. Husband and I came here for breakfast. They don't take reservations. We got there around 11 and there weren't many people there so we had our choice of where to sit. But by 12pm it was pretty full. They do have a bar with several seats. My husband and I ordered the quarter spinning chicken and breakfast sandwich and got all four sides. I loved our mains. But do not miss out on their sides. My favorites: the cabbage Cesar salad and the garlic confit rice (which goes perfectly with the chicken). My husband's favorite were the smashed fingerling potatoes: perfectly seasoned and crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. It's a casual spot with comforting food that delightfully surprised me. If I lived in Hudson I could see myself coming all too often. We also bought some items from their market. Knocked off a star because the side of rice fell short. It was $5 for 2 cookie-dough-sized scoops. Given that it's almost half the price of the chicken, I expected either double that amount or the best rice I've ever had. But sadly the rice was a little too wet. Two notes: it smells way meaty in the market, and the packaged goods are exorbitantly overpriced. When I check my bill due to sticker shock, you know it's not a good thing. I am sure they can't help it as an independent business carrying some smaller batch products but it's happened three times buying very basic things: Two cans of cider $25 (at Grapefruit Wines, next door) A mid sized bag of pretzels and a lunch snack sized bag of Hippeas $10 One be well can of sparking seltzer $8 Not complaining. I was taking the train from the Hudson station at 12:32 pm and I was hungry. I saw this tiny cafe and ran inside. I was kinda expecting to get a sandwich and out of the door. It was beyond my expectations to see this local cafe + mini Whole Foods + local liquor store setup. I ordered a chicken plate which included two sides (I picked Napa Caesar & Chicken oil Fingering Potatoes) The white meat chicken was juicy & perfectly cooked, potatoes was soft & absorbing all chicken oils, and Napa salad was crisp & fresh. I paired my meal with mild flavor Sencha Kombucha. Overall it's a very balanced meal. One quick note-they did cooked every batch chicken from scratch, so if you are in a hurry to take the train, you might need to order something else. An absolutely stupendous place to get some coffee, conveniently located when departing or arriving from the Amtrak Station. All of the staff are very welcoming and kind, however I noticed one staff member in particular is not allowed to play her choice of music. This is truly folly, as her taste is unmatched, and allowing the vibe to radiate would surely add to the ambiance of Kitty's. Between the tables in the back and the tables right on the street, it was a convenient and accessible location for our guests, particularly the ones who were about to get on the train. The staff was friendly and responsive via email and handled a very busy morning; there was a bit of a wait but that made sense. Their breakfast menu is limited and expensive but worthwhile; the sandwiches are no joke (the sauerkraut really escalated things, omg so good) and the coffee was strong and fresh. A little bit outside of downtown Hudson, Kitty's is still conveniently located. It's a stone's throw from the Wick hotel up the street, just across the street from the train station, and an easy stroll to the riverfront park. It's really not far from the main strip and worth the walk. Stopped in for lunch in early November. Got the 1/2 chicken and 3 sides for two. It's a classic rotisserie lunch but spiced completely differently. More than enough food for two. Chicken was perfectly roasted and covered in spices. Aioli and chili topping on the side were exemplars of the type, but you don't need them considering how juicy the chicken is. It was extremely messy to eat, so roll your sleeves up and grab a napkin or a wet wipe. Chicken fat potatoes were decadent and spiced similarly to the chicken. Napa Cabbage Caesar was crunchy and creamy, a great counterpoint the the juicy-spiciness of the other items. Chopped Salad Supreme had big kimchi vibes and the crunchiness and acidity again felt perfect with the fatty chicken and potatoes. I'd really recommend the potatoes or the rice, but not both. The other sides bring much needed crunch and brightness. Weather was amazing when we were there and we took advantage of the cute seating out back. At the moment it's setup to spread out, but when we're all a bit more comfortable getting close to strangers, it's great spot to socialize. read more

GENIUS! If you're coming from the train, going to the train, or just a neighbor of this place, you can't help but carve out a few minutes for this place. What little they have is somehow most everything you'd need. It's not a large market by any measure, but what's stocked is carefully considered and can even get you inspired. They make great use of their space and the people there are also a generally helpful and friendly lot so it just makes for a great experience every time. The outdoor space is also nice, you can bring your pet there and just have a lovely time before you get on with your day. They can do no wrong here, except maybe that I wish they did breakfast past 11AM or offered their trademark rotisserie chicken before noon. But, I can live. The menu is awesome. They're eggs are soft and I love the use of napa cabbage in their salad. I've never had a bad potato dish in my life but I've also never been so addicted to any other kind of food the way I am with what they do to their potatoes. POTATOES. lol. Good job Kitty!
