This was such a cute little shop! I just happened to be in the area walking by when I noticed all of the unique, embroidered items (specifically college merch) in the storefront. They weren't the typically style of merch and instead had niche little details associated with each school - fields, traditions, names of halls and buildings, mascots etc. Things that alum would know and appreciate more intimately. When I saw they had a specialty towel for Cornell, I had to run in to purchase it. How I'll use it? I have no idea. It's too cute and decorative for me to actually want to use and get dirty. But I love it! Also, the person working here when I dropped by was so nice. Stopped in to purchase a lightweight summer quilt. It is a small store that sells a broad range of items, so in terms of patterns, the selectione in store was a little limited. However, they can special order if necessary. Received unhurried personalized attention and purchased a lovely quilt that was exactly what we wanted. I thought the prices were fair for a twin size quilt. Less than you'd pay at Nordstrom, but within range of Macys. I will definitely return. read more

They redid the old piping on a pillow beautifully . Very nice folks. Then I got another pillow's piping and back replaced a few weeks later. Very happy with the results. The pillows were special, with a design in the front which made them not replaceable. read more

Stopped in to escape the cold while waiting for dinner nearby. On a chilly night a quilt store seemed like the place to be! Very friendly staff and high quality products. I just got their high-quality cotton quilt! My quilt looks so clean and elegant. Its cloth is soft and densely woven. The night sky blue stays on the fabric firmly. No shrinkage is observed after machine wash(cold and gentle) and tumble dry(45min) on medium/low heat. I plan to go back and get another quilt, perhaps plus a pillow cover:) They offers a nice variety of quilts. Take a peek in the store yourself, and you would see how boring the ones sold in supermarkets are. If you feel lost, just ask for help;) (ps. Attempted to call and ask about whether they carry devices to hang quilts. After being told she couldn't hear me, I spoke up and repeated my question. She rudely interrupted me before I could finish my question and hung up on me. No proper goodbye and no professional courtesy of possibly recommending a place where they might be sold. Who better to know than a quilt shop. I decided to ring back and complain to which she again talked over me, not listening. They have lovely things but are WAY overpriced and not very nice. Every single time I've been in (and I've lived in the neighborhood since 1990), they have been unhelpful and snooty. If you don't have several hundreds of dollars to drop on the purchase of sheets, quilts and other bedding, don't bother. They won't be interested in you anyway. read more

I'm so surprised another reviewer said the folks at this store were snooty. I was in for the first time yesterday and received incredibly friendly service, and overheard a phone conversation that was equally warm and solicitous. Perhaps there are other people who work or worked there who are less friendly, but in any case that was far from my experience. I went into this small rug and linen store to buy some rag rugs I saw on sale a few weeks before. Everything in the store was on sale, and though I noted that the linens were out of my price range (unless I needed to buy a very fancy wedding gift), the price points for the area rugs were quite reasonable (even without the sale they seemed fair--but with the sale they were great!). The rugs were attractive and appeared to be well-made. I found many I considered buying, but settled on the rag rugs after all. It was at this point that things became crazy-cool: the proprietress told me that I could "borrow" the rugs. Their policy, I gather, is that you can only return items for store credit, which she acknowledged is not the most advantageous policy for customers. The solution, she said, is for people to "borrow" rugs. She took an impression of my credit card (on one of those old-fashioned card-swipers), but she didn't put the sale through. I brought the rugs home and and made sure I liked them in my apartment, then I called the store the next day to ask them to put the sale through. If hadn't liked them, I could have just brought the rugs back without having to worry about a store credit. Pretty nice! This is exactly why I like shopping at small businesses in New York! To me, it's well worth the additional prices you may sometimes pay to be treated like a valued customer! In this case, of course, I actually got a great deal on the sale rugs, so I'm doubly happy. Once again Tracy and Beth saved the day for us! I have traded with them for years and years and our home is infused with their colorful quality textiles to which I am addicted. The custom help in all areas is the best...they have ordered the wonderful Swedish plastic kitchen runners for me and all of my friends. Their quilts and pillows are treasured and I can always pop in for an inexpensive woven Dash & Albert cotton rug to cheer up the bathrooms. This Christmas they hustled a custom order out for me in time for a party. Thanks to them for all the years of providing very happy and thoughtful service. read more

I can say that after 8 YEARS of loving my purchase from these folks, I am delighted they are still in business and I found them on line. Yes, a bit pricey, but I found the most unique cranberry and beige striped bed skirt and matching euro shams to go with my delightful floral quilt. I have so loved these items and they have laundered and starched so beautifully. I live in southern Westchester and everyone wants to know where I got this bedding. I am ready for a new color and design now and I am so happy to think of shopping there again.
