I cannot say enough nice words about Captain Randy, Down South Charters, and the magnificent 36ft Yellowfin "Love Alone". My friends and I eventually decided on a 6 hour private snorkel charter over the 4 hour or all day charter options. We found it to be the sweet spot for our needs, but it was nice to have the flexibility to go longer or shorter if needed! What. A. Day. Every moment was amazing, and we will definitely know who to call for our next charter. (Hint: It's not ghostbusters). Captain Randy is well seasoned. He knows the waters around St Croix well, and will know just where to take you to get the most out of your day on the water. Whether it's big time sport fishing, brewski's with the boys, the best darn girls trip ever, or some quality time reuniting with friends and family in the stunning blue waters of STX. Whatever the case may be, Captain Randy and his immaculately cared for 36ft Yellowfin are up for the task to get you where you want to go in stylish, luxurious comfort. He's also one of the most easy going guys I've ever met. He gets on well with everyone, and is a welcome presence to any room he's in or boat he's on. My family and I booked a six hour charter with Down South Charters over the holiday weekend and we had a BLAST! Captain Randy was responsive and answered all of our questions before our charter, adjusted times to work with our schedule, was very knowledgeable, and was a great tour guide on the waters around beautiful St. Croix. Our day started off with a ride to the West end while trolling for fish. He then took us to an awesome snorkeling spot by the pier where we ate lunch on the boat and swam with TONS of sea life (multiple sting rays, barracuda, huge starfish, conch, lion fish). After snorkeling, we cruised to Sandy Point so the kids could play on the beach for a bit. The charter ended with a beautiful sunset cruise back to the dock. I had the pleasure of fishing with Capt. Randy on 1/11/2023 out of St. Croix, USVI. We fished 6 guys aboard his Yellowfin along with his mate that day, Capt. Josh, and still had plenty of room on the boat to accommodate everyone. I can't say enough about these guys' positive energy, can-do attitude, and awesome vibe they put off. We landed 2 stud Wahoo during the trip and ended the day jumping off a White and Blue Marlin that put on quite a show most never get to see first-hand. Some of our crew had never chased big game before, but with the experience about his boat, he talked them into landing their catch. This is a top-notch Capt. and I will be fishing with him again in the future, no doubt. read more

Our company's management team chartered a trip with Down South Charters on January 11, 2023. Captain Randy made it a fishing trip for a lifetime! His boat and rigs were top of the line, and his knowledge and expertise is unmatched. We snagged two Marlin (one white, one blue). two large barracuda, and two wahoo (35 lbs. and 50 lbs.) Captain Randy provided lots of positive reinforcement when our bodies were fatiguing from all that reeling of fish! We had an amazing trip with Captain Randy! We did a 6 hour adventure trip and he made sure that every minute was enjoyable. We caught 4 different types of fish, snorkeled and had lunch at the coolest little beach bar. We have 2 boys (10 & 12) and Randy was very patient helping them reel in the fish. The bonus was Randy filleting one of the fish so we could bring it back to our resort for dinner. This excursion was the absolute best memory of our week on the island! One of the highlights of our trip to St Croix was spending the day with Captain Randy. My wife and I did a 6 hour trip & wanted to snorkel and fish. Randy was very accomodating to suit our requests. Fishing was wonderful and a real treat to go snorkeling at some of Randy's favorite spots that are secluded. Watching him free diving was amazing. My friend and I did the sunset cruise with Captain Randy. We had an absolutely fabulous time. The boat is so comfortable, and Randy is very knowledgeable. He set us up for gorgeous views of the coastline with the sunset, took us through the Christiansted Harbor, brought us to the mangroves to see the dozens of iguana hanging out in the trees, and then went back out to see the sublime colors of the sky after sunset. read more

Captain Randy was great!! Offered to cater the trip to whatever we wanted to do. We started by, cruising around to take in the beautiful coastline, opened it up a bit to just cruise and ended up jumping in and snorkeling along side Captain Randy. Had a great day on the boat with Randy during our recent trip to St Croix. We chartered the boat to go snorkeling and were delighted with the experience. We saw small squid, sting rays, a sea turtle, lots of colorful fish, barracuda, and a slipper lobster. Nice boat and a great captain! read more

Outstanding day on a not so nice boating day. High winds and rough water made for tough conditions but Captain Randy did everything possible to make sure our group enjoyed themselves. We were all able to catch some fish and he put us in clear water for some great snorkeling. read more
