My husband and I booked a couples massage here for my birthday. We decided a bit last minute, so were glad that they had availability for a 2 hour massage. Booking online was very easy. I appreciate the ability to see availability and select the masseuse ahead of time. Your card is partially charged at time of booking with the remainder charged after your service. Upon arriving, we were brought straight back to our room and quickly undressed and got under the sheets for our massages. They waste no time at all and we definitely were massaged for the full 2 hours. Garn and Apple were our massage therapists and they both got to work on our tight muscles and overall, the massage itself was very good. I haven't felt that loose after a massage in quite some time. My husband was a bit sore for a few days after (he was walked on, I wasn't), but I didn't experience the soreness I usually do after one. I do think that 2 hours was plenty of time and in the future, I'd probably just opt for 1 hour or 90 minutes. Our room was close to the front so we did hear any time the front door opened (even with the music playing). They also left our door open a bit for probably the last 30 minutes of our massage. During this time, they were moving our legs around (to our chest/head) causing the sheets to move about...so I really hope no one was walking by while doing that and got a show from me! Pricing was very reasonable and staff was very nice. It was our first time there, so a little introduction would have been nice when we arrived, but we quickly figured things out. Overall, I recommend Down to Earth if you're looking for a Thai massage! read more

I have been getting massages weekly for that last few years, I was in La Jolla on a business trip and was in Desperate need of a last minute massage because I had an extremely tight neck and back from LA to SD drive. Maily gave me the BEST massage I have ever had in my life! No exaggeration. My neck was so tight I couldn't turn my head without moving my body and after the massage I had zero pain and had full range of motion back and felt extremely relaxed. I normally get deep tissue massages and never had a traditional Thai Massage until today. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend. Wow. This was a pleasant surprise. Had a pretty annoying knot in my trapezoid area so I looked for an available therapist on a Sunday and thankfully Maily was available. I was kind of ignorant to the fact that this was a Thai massage place that all also offers Swedish massage as well. I had three massages here in my 4 days in California -- exquisite work. I'm a bit of a massage connoisseur, this is one of the best Thai massages I've had in the country. I had two massages with Ava -- 3 hours total. Very knowledgeable, capable lady, good listener, traditional Thai massage, she did a terrific job. I wish every Thai massage therapist was this good. She is SOLID! I had a two hour massage with Garn. If you want the hardest massage you've ever had -- Garn is for you! She is like the Thai version of Super Woman and Incredible Hulk. She is STRONG! Let me tell you, I've worked with some amazingly strong women -- and men. Garn has some of the strongest grips I've ever encountered. In some positions -- the kind of force I've felt from her -- I've never felt from anyone else ever. However, it's not meaningless force like with some therapists, she knows what she is doing. My biceps hurt like hell when she was doing it, she asked me if she wanted me to keep going and I said -- yes -- nothing hurt afterward, I felt great and she got some of the knots in my arms I didn't even know were there. She is a very good listener and will back off when you tell her so it's not one of those crazy massages but it was mind boggling how strong this lady is and how hard she works to get the tension out. Some of it hurt like hell when she was doing it but felt amazing afterwards, I felt like I was born again. I don't miss San Diego but I miss this massage place, there's no good Thai massage where I live. Ava is incredible Thai massage therapist and for some of the strongest massages you've ever had -- Garn is your lady! I wish I could see Garn again, she is in the top three of strongest massage therapists I've ever seen but she is very skilled, she gets the tension out, very deep tension. If you want the strongest massage -- Garn is your lady! I LOVE this place, wish we had something like this where I live. Will stop by every time I'm in La Jolla. read more
