ONE OF THE BEST DEEP TISSUE MASSAGES I've ever had in San Diego. Do not let its outside appearance fool you. This was my first time here and Susan took AMAZING CARE of me. Every time I have ever had a deep tissue massage at other places, they either don't go hard enough in my knots OR there's always a section in the massage that is too hard or hits sensitive spots for me. NOT WITH SUSAN. Susan was so so so great! It was like she could read my mind...harder on the knots in my shoulders and back, but lighter near my spine, glutes, and lower rib area. I didn't even have to tell her what I needed; it was as if she KNEW to spend more time on my shoulders and upper back. It completely opened up and loosened all of my knots. Susan is a godsend. Not only that-- but afterwards, Susan and the receptionist were SO incredibly nice. They looked so happy and eager, and made sure to walk me out and greet me goodbye. BODY MASSAGE (3.8 stars) Had a Groupon experience for a 1hr Body Massage, Hot Stones, and foot exfoliation. I booked days and called I. For the appointment. Upon arriving to the tiny plaza - parking can be 50/50. I had called days in advance to book my appointment but when I arrived the guy who answered was the guy at the front seem to have never booked me (that was weird) but got the masseuse to bring me to a room and give me a massage. I the masseuse lady was nice, didn't really talk, and gave me a good full body massage and did some hot stones but don't recall reviewing foot exfoliation. I left her a decent tip and wouldn't mind returning again on another Groupon deal. Afterwards, leaving the small parking lot was a mess. A delivery truck parked and blocked many cars. He did guide me out a tight squeezed space but still... very inconvenient for all the businesses. read more

I had some knots that I didn't think would ever feel relieved, and she was able to work on them and I felt SOOO relaxed after. First time visiting this spa, very nice experience for me. They brought out their best, and her name is Nina. Not a rip off, value for your dollar. Speaking of dollars, there's only a $2.00 charge for credit card use. This is perfectly normal, and I see it all the time. Convenient handicap parking directly in front of this fine establishment. MOST AWFUL MASSAGE I have ever received. All she did was run her fore arm across my back and legs. She was massaging my bones. It was painful, and not in a good way. She didn't take the time with her hands to massage the typically tight areas. In fact my shoulder muscles still burned from being so knotted when I left. She also only did the back of me, not the front of my legs. At the end, I was given tap water. Gross! I wouldn't have written a review, but when I was leaving, she INSISTED I give her a tip for that crappy massage. A 24% one at that! They were literally blocking the door until I did! I recently went here for a massage and I had a positive experience overall. I will admit I was skeptical upon arriving being that the spa is randomly placed between a 7/11 and Papa John's. It is a modest spa, no frills or super luxurious feel. Aside from the looks I was satisfied with my 60 minute massage with hot stones. I am always a bit nervous trying a new spa, I feel like it is very dependent on who you get. My massage therapist was great. She gave me just the right amount of pressure and was so nice. Booked a group of girls here for massages. SERVICE - They were very accommodating and got all six of us in at the same time. The staff were very friendly. AMBIANCE - I will adjust that I was skeptical the second we drove up. The windows were covered. You could not see inside. Definitely turned you away. When you walked in though, it was a little better with a slightly more welcoming atmosphere. MASSAGE - I am not sure who I had but it was a male. I always request the strongest hands for deep tissues to get out my knots. He did a fairly decent job. I've been having tension headaches and migraines almost daily this past week. I went to Mesa Spa Massage based on great reviews. It does look a bit sketchy from outside but don't let that stop you from trying this place. I had Jeanie - she said she speaks limited English but she did ask my preference as to how deep of a massage I wanted. She was very good - I don't know how a small woman can apply so much pressure. The room was clean and had relaxing music. Didn't have any incense or diffuser, which I liked because I don't always enjoy the scent other people choose. There was at least one parking spot dedicated to Mesa Spa. There's also a 7-Eleven next door so there's ample parking. Another reviewer complained about "signs everywhere" about tips but that's not true! I only noticed one sign at the front desk, which is fair because the Groupon deal I got was under $60 for a 60 minute massage. You really need to tip them well for their business to be sustainable. I did not feel pressured or put off by the sign, it only made sense. I will definitely return for more massage sessions. Highly recommended. read more
